(Old) Every Girl Crazy 'Bout A Sharp Dressed MMP

Of course you are, you had to spend the day worrying. That’s hard mental work! Sleep well :slight_smile:

Happy birthday sticky buns! :partying_face: :birthday_cake:

Adds more birthday wishes. I could have swore I had said something earlier, I’m sorry for probably editing that out while trying to fix formatting or speeling. Neither of those are my strong points :frowning:

Up from naptime, laundry is put away. Having a Monte Cassino, and I made a Greek-ish pasta salad with sauteed tuna cubes(Yeah, I know Homer never had Chicken Of the Sea).

A good choice, because if anybody can assemble a caucus, it’s you.

If I’m sorting on the 100 table I’m the tallest person there(^'1"). the next tallest person is 5’5". But good on the boxing.

:champagne::partying_face::birthday:HAPPY BIRTHDAY STICKY!!!:birthday::partying_face::champagne:

< crosses fingers >

Sitting on a train hopefully heading to Southampton for my cruise, just had my ticket scanned and no problem so guess it is the right one. Train is packed and a lot have luggage so they are probably going to the same place I am. Another beautiful day in Southern England, haven’t seen a whisper of the famous English rain and clouds…

Have read all but need to enjoy the journey so take care all.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s my Firday!

Have fun!

We did this my last official full year of teaching. It was my paras and I and it was so much fun and hilarious as well.

I’m picturing the delivery people asking you if you want to moderate a panel. lol

Thanks for the birthday wishes! It was a low key kind of day. However, MusicMan did stop at DQ and came home with a gigantic cookie dough ice cream cake. And wonder of wonders, I was actually able to eat about 2/3 of the rather large piece that he gave me without getting sick.

Today I’m going to meet my best friend for lunch in Canton at my favorite Greek restaurant. MusicMan will probably come along for the ride and then drop me off at lunch. Then he and I will go out exploring afterwards. He is, of course, allowed to join us for lunch, but he feels that I should be able to hang out with her without him.

So, here’s a story that I probably shouldn’t admit to it happening… The good news is that I’ve just saved myself about $100! I use a rock tumbler to finish my spoon rings when I make them. The one that I have is probably about 10 years old. Yesterday I dragged it out and put the rings in the canisters and plugged it in and it didn’t work. If I put the canisters on it, it stopped rotating. I was totally bummed out because I wanted to finish up my rings that I worked so hard to create.

Anyways, I researched tumblers and found out that V Rock Shop had the best price around. I resigned myself to buying a new one and would conveniently be able to pick it up today when I’m in the area. Then, last night before going to bed I looked at my tumbler again and realized that I had it flipped upside down. :woman_facepalming: Wonder of wonders, once I had turned it over it worked just fine! And, as we speak the rings are tumbling their happy little selves away!

My in-laws did this. My FIL’s parents built a big house and then my in-laws lived in the big house until the small house was ready, and then my in-laws moved in. After my FIL’s father passed away and the kids need more space, they switched houses.

Then repeated with my sister-in-law moving into the smaller house, then she moved into the bigger house when FIL died. Smaller house is under renovation, so currently not occupied.

It’s interesting to see the different kinds of bugs. Do you have fireflies? I didn’t grow up with them and I’ve never seen them here, even thought they allegedly exist. We just get amber forest cockroaches, who wander inside and die.

Oops. Late again. Happy Birthday Sticky Buns! :birthday_cake:

Enjoy!

This morning I walked outside to start watering and heard the distinctive sound of an oil burner on a hot-air balloon. There were two nearby and I got a few pictures, as hubby fortunately had the right lens on the camera for taking pictures of far away things. Found the company: Emmental balloon.

Went to two grocery stores and then started pizza dough for making pizza on the grill. As today’s high = 28°C*/82°F, I don’t want to heat up the kitchen.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 91 and mostly sunny for the day. The big item on today’s agenda is Jo Ann’s funeral. I shall serve as Crucifer/Gospeler/Chalice for the service I am told. In a little while we will make many chikin sallit sliders to take for the brunch after the service. After all this high sloth will rule the rest of the day.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification must commence. Woo and hoo.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Someone was having some kind of dream last night. I was awakened by 4 rapid punches to my arm. Usually, it’s just twitchy little bumps, but these were punches, or as much as one can punch when lying on one’s side. I called out his name and he didn’t wake up, but he did stop punching.

All in all, a bad night for me. I was exhausted after waking at 4:30 yesterday, but I woke suddenly after just a brief snooze - not sure if it was a dream or a noise or what. Then for some reason, I felt compelled to make sure the garage door was closed (I forgot it earlier this week.) I eventually fell back to sleep, only to be punched, and that took a bit of time to get over. It was well after midnight before I was actually out, and I still woke before 6. Ugh.

Apart from cleaning the critter fountain, today’s only plan is taking the cushions to the boat. It’s supposed to get into the low 90s today (the heat wave is due Mon & Tues) so probably not a lot being done outside. I may start on the next phase of packing.

I’m worried about FCD, tho. Something isn’t quite right and I suspect he’s masking it so I don’t cancel the cruise. Not sure why I suspect this and not exactly sure why he’d do it, apart from his “I’m not a wimp” mentality. Honestly, I’d rather cancel and eat the financial hit (we do have trip insurance, so not a total loss) instead of having to arrange to return mid-cruise from who-knows-where. Apart from Rotterdam and Reykjavik, all of our port calls are pretty remote. I’ll try to talk to him today.

So, what a cheery way to start the day. :zany_face: This getting old crap ain’t for wimps.

Happy Saturday!

@Sticks_and_Scones

Good morning.

It’s 52°F and raining right now. The rain is supposed to continue throughout the morning until around 11:00 a.m. The afternoon is expected to be cloudy, with a daytime high temperature of only 62°F.

Happy Belated Birthday, Sticky.

I hope your conversation with FCD produces something tangible, FCM. I know you worry about your sweetie.

Metal Mouse, it sounds like the trip (except for the hotel room thing) has been nice. I hope the rest of the trip goes smoothly and that you’re now aboard your ship

I was the slothiest of sloths yesterday. My only productivity was doing the dishes and taking care of the pups. I feel immensely guilty about that for some reason.

Today, I’m supposed to meet that old friend for a walk around the wildlife refuge. I am half-expecting her to cancel, but we’ll see.

If my friend cancels, I’ll take care of the laundry. I’m half-thinking about busting out the steam cleaner, too.

That’s all that’s going on here in my little corner of the world.

I love seeing hot air balloons, blimps, skywriting and airplanes with trailing banners as the pass by.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, a load of throw rugs in the dryer and fixing to do KP. I’ll be going into Nashville today to pick up some plastic totes for moving. At that point, I should have enough boxes and totes for the move.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Happy Doperversary, rocking chair! :shortcake:

After I finished watching S2 of America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders on Netflix, I decided to start watching the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team series that aired on Country Music Television (CMT) from 2006-2021. It’s available on Paramount+. I’m fairly sure I would have watched this show back then if I’d known about it, but I never paid attention to the CMT listings when I had cable – and somehow I don’t remember ever hearing about it in 16 seasons. Anyway, for whatever reason I’ve always been a sucker for shows and movies about cheerleading/dance/performance: in addition to Fame (both the movie and series), I love A Chorus Line, Cheer, Dance Academy (Australian), Bring It On, Center Stage, Drumline, Save The Last Dance, Pitch Perfect, etc. It’s one of the few girly things about me. :grin:

Last night I opted to watch all of S1 of the old Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders series vs new episodes of current shows (except Welcome to Wrexham; I guess I was in a docuseries mood), so today I’ll catch up on And Just Like That…*, Resident Alien, and Murderbot.

*One of the other girly things!

That’s as exciting as my Saturday will get until it’s time to meet my dad and bro for dinner. :slight_smile: We’re going to an old-school-Italian restaurant, and I’m looking forward to some spaghetti marinara. A boring choice to some, but the only spaghetti I eat at home is Stouffer’s: fresh pasta and sauce will be yum. And, I’m hoping to have enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow. On the way home from dinner I’ll swing by the grocery store, as it is time once again to buy more bananas and Gatorade Zero. I have no plans for tomorrow other than doing a load of laundry.

My new Lego sets – the Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage and the Jane Austen gift with purchase – have shipped, and UPS tracking has them being delivered by 4:15pm on Tuesday. Yay! I won’t put the Hocus Pocus set together until October, but I’ll assemble the Jane Austen tribute at my coffee table Tuesday evening (it’s small and will be a quick build).

SPOILERS! Geeze!

(Just kidding!! I’ve never watched that show, and don’t plan to…I just had to say that. :grin:)

Maybe because it actually just started? :wink: To me, “summer” has always been June, July, and August.

Also IMO:
Fall = September, October, November
Winter = December, January, February
Spring = March, April, May

Nice to hear that, at least right now, things are going smoothly at casa susan!

LOL!

And I’m glad you shared. If anyone here says that they haven’t ever done anything similar, I won’t believe them. :smiley:

:people_hugging:

Heading for a high of 94F today (or higher, depending on which forecast one uses) and tomorrow. Youngest son and kids are coming over tomorrow. He’s a bit on my shit list at the moment for reasons I won’t bore you with.

We’ll probably take Sadie to the vet next week so they can take a look at her eye again. Cats often have a leaky eye for a variety of reasons, but hers is looking worse of late, so time to get it looked at.

Happy belated birthday Sticky!

Oh how I wished I knew how to drive a forklift on Thursday lol! Believe me when I say your fellow volunteers are very thankful for your skillset!

FCM hopefully he’s just nervous that something could go wrong and trying not to worry you about it too.

Today appears to be one of nearly universal sloth for the mumpers. I also have no plans and it’s going to be hot. I think I will call and pester my sister and see if she’s going to be doing anything entertaining today that is worth inviting myself along to.

And the cushions are on the boat. I’m less than thrilled with the long back cushions, but the rest are great. No sure there’s anything to be done with the one set (short of completely disassembling them) and not sure it matters - FCD doesn’t see a problem.So that’s finally done.

Daughter, Casey, and the kids were at the pool - we stopped by to see them and hung out for a little bit. Now we’re back home and I think I’ll have a look at the weather cloths again - I think I have one small modification to make to finish them off. If nothing else, I can tidy the basement a bit.

The only other chore is to help FCD take a bunch of stuff from his office to his shop. That could take all of 10 or 15 minutes. As you can see, another exciting day at FairyChatEstate.

Well, today’s my birthday. I’m officially 20 now. Can feel the back pain comin’ already…
Not really doing anything particularly special for my birthday. I prefer to keep it more low-key. I did get some nice things though - a bunch of gift cards, some candies, and some old Nintendo Power issues from the 90s! It’s fun to flip through them and see what people thought was good back then. Modern standards for games certainly have changed…

Also, since I haven’t been here in ages…I got a job back in April! I work part-time at a nonprofit coffee shop. They hire folks with disabilities, and also do a ton of stuff for the community. It’s overall nice working there, though…I feel restaurant workers’ pain now because of it. Haha.

I’m almost done with college as well! I was able to go to my graduation ceremony back in May, but I finish my summer classes in early August. All online again, and there are only two, so it’s not much of a load, which is especially nice now that I’m working part-time.

So who’s CorpusNeptune, anyway? God’s Body?

Happy birthday!

Just got back from breakfast. There’s a new place below the American Legion called D’Oldhams. I had to ask how to pronounce it, since to me it looks like it should be ‘Dold-ums’ or ‘Dold-ams’. Turns out it’s ‘Dee Old-hums’ or ‘Dee Old-hams’. Good food, and we needed a breakfast place. (There’s one down the beach, but we rarely go there.)

So with only two clerks between 3 slides, both of us spent half the shift sorting instead of clerking. So the 300 Slide was a mess. A mess not helped by somebody stuffing 50 bags and envelopes in a NIB labeled bag, when only one(1) bag wasn’t from our routes. :roll_eyes: But there was a surprising low amount of left behind packages. Cleanup wasn’t horrid, either, I was out just before 11 for once. Laundry is washed and tumbling, Spot is gnawing on his dry, flaovrless bits, so I shall nap after this gin&tonic.

Y’all are getting a little harsh on the people who talk in pews, ain’t ya?

That’s him and his family in a nutshell, though.

Train Buster and Maisie to pull it around. Organic Roombas.

Such optimism after reading my posts. :zany_face:

I read that as blocked up my next Camero But I didn’t think you’d go full redneck like that.
