I had this same experience. My eye doc suggested the following: Fill an old gym sock with rice, heat gently in the microwave, verify that it’s not too hot, put the heated rice sock over your eyes for about 10 minutes twice a day. Then use artificial tears (I use Systane) a few times each day.
There are “wax” (for lack of a better term) ducts in your lashes, and they can become clogged and create the condition you describe. For awhile, your vision will be really blurry right after you remove the rice sock, because the wax has “melted”. It will clear after a few sessions. This all proved to be true for me. I still do this a few times a week to keep things flowing properly. It’s kind of zen.
