Nice work! I’ll keep my fingers crossed!
Nooo! It’s a beautiful beard! What’s with the spots?

Happy Birthday Flyboy!
Hello all - I think I may have my laptop issues worked out, so hopefully I’ll be around again. I hope everyone is doing well.
Take care and Happy Friday!
Yah know, I had to stop and think about this all too long to figure out doggio wasn’t talking about anniversary greetings from his Ivy League alma mater Brown University. I win the duh!! prize for the day.
Howdy Y’all! We had N.O.L. at the not too shabby hog trough Chinese buffet place then accomplished nappage. I have also cooked a big chikin in the crock pot which will be turned into chikin sallit sammiches (they’ll be fancy cause I’ll cut the crusts off and cut each sammich into fourths) for a reception we will have after church Sunday in honor of Interim Priest, a Confirmand, and to celebrate The Lutheran Church of Our Savior as it will officially be no more as of Sunday. In a bit I shall make myself somewhat presentable and head over to the church house to deal with duties and the search committee meetin’.
Laterz!
Search committee? Shudder. Everybody thinks they know what the congregation needs. I remember a fewm people in one congregation that went behind the back of the committee to ask that the interim pastor please please pleast be made permanent. We all really like him but by the terms of his contract he wasn’t eligible for the call. It was embarrassing for him, as he had no notion the group would do that.
Since we has such a huge breakfast, we skipped lunch, so we had an early sketty supper. Yum!
I wasn’t a total slug this afternoon - I was painting the sandpiper medallions that FCD designed. I’ll post pics when they’re done. I also emptied the dishwasher like a responsible adult. Go figure!
The rest of the evening is for chillage.
Yep. I’m doing the right pre-op stuff, so I’m hoping for a relatively easy go of it.
Did I miss some info that you’re moving there? I was born there 75 years ago. Last time I visited there was a decent pizza joint. That was in about 1999. No idea what they have now.
I had a Vegemite sandwich (with two slices of sharp cheddar) for breakfast, and a hot link in a keto bun for lunch.
SWMBO likes dinner early. Like before five o’clock early. Or at least, certainly before six. No idea what’s for dinner tonight, or even if she wants to eat.
Moooooom I don’t know the square footage or whether she has gas heat / dryer / water heater, but my 560 square foot all electric apartment averages around $90 a month. It goes down in spring and fall when I’m not heating / cooling the place, hits the average during AC season and above that during heating season. HMMV.
Keeping the digits crossed for good news at the end of the month niner.
Good luck on the knee surgery cookie.
Got the tags for the car. When I stopped at Aldi, an older woman in an Audi Quatro nearly ran me over. I know that her car had a backup camera, but she still hit the gas hard when backing out.
I took Nelson with me to get air in my tire at Discount Tire, then on to Tar-jay to pick up my prescription and a couple of things that I couldn’t get at Aldi. When I take him into a store, I take a canvas bag with an old throw rug in it for him to perch in in the baby seat of the buggy. He got a few aww…good boy comments and one of the store employees even asked to pet him.
Supper was tunafish on whole wheat pita and some crudites. Now for a little more studio work.
Howdy Y’all! I survived the meetin’. Got back to da cave and needed some snackage and chillaxin’, so been home a little over an hour. Hopefully this means all the stuff gets online next week so potential candidates can know we’re searchin’.
CupCakes that is a bad situation to put an Interim in. Our Interim is finishin’ out his contract as of this Sunday, Hopefully we can line up a new full-time Rector within the next six to nine months, but no breath shall be held.
And a good early evening to all. Computer is at the shop, I may get it back tomorrow or Monday, so this is on my laptop. Got swimming and sauna in and will plan on mowage tomorrow, so that should keep me busy. Had the AC on most of the day, may turn it off here in a bit as the weather cools down.
Cookie, not moving anytime or anyplace in the forseeable future. Shoe mentioned it and I was there last year on a cruise so just did a little googling and the conversation took off from there, as it often does on the MMP… And interesting that you were born there; I enjoyed the stopover we had there.
Sunny, you are always welcome here whenever you appear, hope the laptop behaves.
doggio, I can understand about half of what you say about work, but it is always entertaining. Hope spot is leaving your face alone.
Niner, great news on the interview. And yeah, you have a lot of competition, but sounds like you have a good chance to make it too the second round in July. Best wishes.
FCM, sounds like you earned your sloth tonight. Bet you can’t wait to see the kid’s faces when they see the pool for the first time (at least first time this summer).
I did not know that. Thanks for adding to my collection of unnecessary facts…
OK, getting close to 7pm so need to browse about the internet for awhile. All y’all have a good night/morning.
Resonable heaving and sorting. Just a “short” day tomorrow.
Not spots, Spot:
He likes to nom on my beard when I pet him.
Just remember some advice from absent Mumper Wikki who used to live in Kodiak: Don’t punch the bear.
And I find work entertaining too, because as a drone and not management, “Not my circus, not my monkeys”
Greetings from Seattle. I’m surrounded by tail-waggers after an excellent dinner of pasta puttanesca and Caesar salad, My DIL is frosting cupcakes as I type this.
It was my lame attempt at humor: Spot is your facial fuzz…Spot has spots.
I hope you have frilly toothpicks. They’re formalwear for sammiches.
It took me a second, too. I think he actually matriculated at the University of Puget Sound.
Sunny! So glad to see you back!
I have a degree from Brown. Maybe he was talking about me!
Go, Ivy!
What good posture! GG was bred to be handsome, but all the rest of ours have always slouched and slumped nearly as badly as I do.
I knew you would rock it! The best part of being at the start is that they will remember you fondly after all of the failures they will be talking to.
You have been missed!
GG is still operating on two brain cells and VBC has started getting gray on her ears.
Summer is finally here and it is over 80F at almost 2100. I like to sit on the back porch in the mornings and the dastardly deo usually come out and hang out in the catio. Now that GG is starting to get his coat grown out, he isn’t liking it when it is over 80F, so I guess he’s going to have to start getting summer crew cuts because he loves hanging out back there in the winter.
I bad influenced TC friend into baking her tomatoes into paste and she was totally outraged at the small amount she ended up with. I thought her reaction was hysterical because she claimed to have listened to me when I told her that 1 lb of Romas would be about an ounce of paste. Mental thought was “hun, if you want to be an earth goddess, ya gotta listen to the others who live in the same area.”
Does spot have uneven ears, or is that an unusual angle? Handsome dude, regardless.
spot used to be feral and was ear tipped when he was trapped and fixed. Usually the third step in TNR is release, but spot got lucky and landed with someone who gives him gouda cheese.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s my Firday!
“One simply must have good posture, if they are to be taken seriously as a small Egyptian god.” - Spot
Which explains his occasional skittishness. Because if I woke one day with no balls, and part of my ear torn off, I’d have trust issues, too.
Morning, mumpers! It’s a brisk 18c/65f with a predicted high of 23c/73f, and rain showers. Weather app says “Well, would you look at that? It’s fucking pissing down outside again.” When I left for the gym just before 8am, it was dry and overcast. When I left the gym at 9.30am, it was just starting to rain but not heavily. It should cool down a bit too which will be nice. There’s a weather warning for thunderboomers tomorrow too!
I am off to a music festival in the park round the corner from home so a bit of rain will be welcome to keep the dust at bay and stop me getting sunburn. As usual in this country, summer means sunscreen and umbrellas
Right…better get myself showered and fed, tend to the critters (they’ve had breakfast, second breakfast and the first round of litter tray wars) before we leave as we will be out of the house most of the day. The one band I really want to see is on at 12.00 so we have to be there right at the start today, normally we’d stroll in mid-afternoon but that won’t work today. Onwards, ever onwards!
