(Old) Flyboy’s Birthday🎂in the new MMP~

Just a quick pop in, all. I glanced through everything but my brain is still pretty much mush. I will say that I agree with JtC, FCM. It’s better to make him go via ambulance and find you were overreacting than to wait and see and find out you should have gone. {{{FCM and FCD}}}

Today’s been busy but good. I got to help out a lot at the library, including taking plenty of pictures that I need to send to the children’s librarian. We made slime, moon dough and played with play-doh. Then I got home, put fat less thought into my game than I should have, and ran it for 5 hours. Everyone said they had fun, even if I felt brained through it. That’s honestly more important though - that all my players enjoyed themselves. I’m free from games tonight, but tomorrow will be a full day of games. Wish me luck!

Have a great day/night/ whatever!

Tell him those are seriously worrying symptoms, especially because he has been working a lot lately around bodies of waters, prime places to catch Lyme disease, West Nile fever (ask our shoe about West Nile and husbands) and other nasty microbes. Not to be messed with. There are no medals given out for not going to the doctor when you should. There should be court martials for not going to the doctors or urgent care, even after you retire from the service. Spouses should be able to bring charges of spousal stupidity. >end crotchety cranky stern night nurse voice<

delivered in my firmest, crochetyest night nurse voice< and you tell him I said so.

Another vote for ambulance.

It’s not just Japan. I don’t exactly remember it being an ultimatum but when our daughter was in 9th grade, she had to choose between ballet, which she had been doing for 7 years, and swim team which she’d been doing for 5 years. She choose swimming since it allowed her to become close friends with the new friends she made in HS.

I can relate.

Same with HFH. Hubs was on phone being transferred around about 6 times for almost 2 hours before he finally got someone who was able to schedule an appointment for him, and then the Doc didn’t have availability until 7/28. JULY 28! So, we asked to be put on a waiting list in case of a cancellation and about an hour and a half later, he received a text that a cancellation had been received for an appointment on June 19 and did he want it. He had 30 minutes to respond or lose it. Luckily he woke up before the 30 minutes had expired. Hopefully, you’ll be moved up and receive an appointment sooner.

Haha. I had to choke them down that first time so I request to substitute something else, if available.

Slingshotted self out of bed somewhat reluctantly but hadn’t been to Fitness Center to get in my workout for my knee in a week so I made it there by 7:15. Then to work, then home. Had leftover roast beef and onions sub for lunch. I put muenster cheese, tomato, green onions and mayo on. So good. Tried watching my soaps but feel asleep on lazyboy so had an hour and a half nap. Then watered the flowers and the vegetable garden. Dinner was leftover enchiladas and refried beans. Hubs is feeling much better after about the 8th different prescription that I picked up for him last Friday so when he went to Kroger to pick up the new circular, he bought a chocolate celebration cake. I had a piece with some mint chocolate chip ice cream for dessert.

Thanks red, I’ve bookmarked it. It will work to stop there on way to visit daughter or on way home.

FCM sounds very similar to Hubs symptoms from April, or was it March. He’s only now starting to be able to get around without walker. He’s been to 5 different docs and an ER visit, no one ever diagnosed it. I truly hope that FCD doesn’t experience the worst that Hubs did. He should definitely go to ER.

And I agree with BBBoo, Spouses should definitely be able to bring charges of spousal stupidity.

Past my bedtime but I am trying to stay up a little late.
I was going to set up an Uber to pick up my son in the morning, but a friend said she is always up early and she will go get him.
I think that is too much, but she volunteered and wouldn’t be talked out of it. I’ll probably have to talk her through getting there, the parking lot is screwy.
I can’t sleep in because of the GR, but I won’t have to jump up and rush around to go get him.

I hope he doesn’t have to irk OT Friday. He says he will still go to the pain clinic with me, even if he has to irk. I’ll need him because I can’t get the walker in and out of the truck by myself, and I am going to need it there unless I get a parking space right in from of the doors.
Which I doubt.
However, if he can’t go, a different friend offered to take me there.

Once he is done this week, we need to have another serious talk about driving. My friend says I am being too soft, but I think when he is irking 12 hours days, that is not the time to dump on him.
He’s tired and sore when he gets home, depending on what irk he is assigned, but no matter, it’s 12 hours on his feet with a lot of lifting. He does his own cooking and laundry, and helps with the GR.
That is enough, I think.

I agree that FCD should go to the ER.
NOW!
I don’t want to scare you, but that is how I was when I had my heart attack. No chest pain, no arm pain, no jaw pain. I thought I had pneumonia or something. I was hot, then cold, and hurt all over, just hurt, everything hurt, and I could barely walk, I could hardly breathe.
It felt like the flu. Not all heart attacks have what you think are typical symptoms.

Evening all. FCM, I concur with the rest of the MMP’ers, I do not like the sound of those symptoms combined together, you need to get him to hospital sooner than later, and if an ambulance is needed to make him, then do it.

Cat Glove, hope the new appointment for Hubs is soon and glad he is feeling better.

Real Fish, sounds like you had fun with the kids.

Ah…no, nope, nothing doing…once was plenty.

Good night all, and FCM get that stubborn old coot to the Horse-pistol.

I offered the following for dinner tonight:

  • Margherita pizza (fresh mozz, and basil from the plant)
  • Leftover Cuban-style roast pork
  • Costco giganto-dogs

The Spousal Unit said ‘Nothing for me,’ and made herself popcorn.

I put some chicken tenderloins (with kosher salt, pepper, and turmeric) and Brussels sprouts into the toaster oven for myself.

Oh yes. My dad didn’t have “typical” symptoms, just a small back ache, and that went away when he did some toe touches. Then the ache came back and he was hot and sweaty. Knowing his family history my mom, an RN, threw him in the care and drove to the hospital, saying later she didn’t pay a lot of attention to traffic lights. I called ahead and I was calm, because no jaw/chest/ arm pain. A code was pulled on him the next day, but thank God he survived.

GET THE GUY TO THE ER!!

I dunno what the best course of action is for FCD, as I’m not medical in any way, but I wish the best of results. {{{}}} But it seems to me that getting him to see someone would be prudent.

My computer is acting up. It went dark for awhile, even though it was 95% charged, and even my IT guy, my son, couldn’t figure it out. It suddenly came back on but flickers now and then and goes dark. If you don’t hear from me, this is why.

Just came on to say that I agree with everyone else, FCM. It’s way, way better to err on the side of caution and get FCD to the hospital when it isn’t absolutely necessary than it is to regret not doing so. Just my 2¢.

JFC I go make pizzas for a few hours and everything goes to hell around here.

FCM you know we’re worried about what’s going on. Please keep us posted as you can.

An epic fog rolled in tonight, so I’m letting Monkey run around outside at 1:30 in the morning (and he better not abuse the privilege) while a frozen pot pie - don’t judge - is doing its groovy thing in the oven behind me, as I sit on my back stairs hangin’ with y’all and enjoying this amazing fog.

It helps tremendously to consider them a butter delivery vehicle.

Holding a good thought for you. Worst case scenario, you get some valuable practice. It can only get better from there.

Echo is pulling her shit again tonight.

FCM, when I had my heart attack I thought I was coming down with the flu, chills, cold sweat, etc. My heart was damaged by the delay in getting me to the ER. I’ve been suffering with the fallout ever since.
Get him to the docs.

Baker, I’ve had good grits and I’ve had terrible grits. It depends on how you cook them, and what you mix in. Shrimp and grits can be great.

Bed time here. Later.

Lather, rinse, repeat tonight. i may be working extra tomorrow, too. But nobody ever died thinking, “Darn it, I wish I had made less money.” And up caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

FCM, I hope you can get *FCD to go to the doc, stat.

Real grits, yes. Instant, or the eldritch horror that was the New Hanover County School System “grits”, no.

Edit:
Somebody has learned to open the cat food container.

Morning, mumpers! It’s a sticky 17c/62f with a predicted high of 27c/78f and partly cloudy. Well, it’s definitely not partly cloudy here, there’s not even a wisp of cloud to be seen. Weather app says “My fucking joints are aching. It must mean the weather is changing for the fucking 365th time this year.”

And on the subject of aching joints etc, Mooom did you get FCD to see a medic yet? The rest of mumperdom says you should, so I hope you have. Fingers crossed for both of you.

First off, he seems to be fine this morning - his fever broke overnight and that seemed to be that. I will have him make an appointment with our doc for sure. And he already said he’ll take it easy today.

I think two things added to my anxiety last night - I was exhausted, so I couldn’t think clearly, then Higgs got in bed with FCD - she never does that! He’d also told me all he ingested yesterday was a donut and some diet coke - yeah… But once he’s up for reals, he will be making an appointment.

Thanks for all the support and concern. Even tho I didn’t see it till this morning, it did provide some good info, plus it’s a comfort to know you’re all out there.

MWAH!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis < snerk > 69! < snerk > Amurrkin out and rainy/stormy with a predicted high of 80 with rain/tstorms/apocalypse predicted throughout the day. Hopefully it will all be done by early evenin’. Thus, we shall remain inside and dry today. A good day for high sloth and general overall uselessness. We shall break fast for sup. Pancakes, aigs, and bacon are on the menu. Sounds like a good thing to do on an ick day.

MOOOOOOM good to know FCD is somewhat better this mornin’. Still, have him make that appointment with the doc. The sooner he gets in the better. How sweet that Higgs was so worried she got in bed with him! Let him know that if the baby is worried, then sump’n must be done.

RealFish have fun gamin’ today!

Lily have, ummmm… fun? with the roter rooter this mornin’.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

I just booked him an appointment for tomorrow and he’ll be there if I have to hog-tie him!

Good! And if any sympoms recur today, take him to urgent care. Dont let him downplay it!

I’ve just started Dose 2. Dose 1 made me throw up, so I’m going slower with this one and interspersing the Sutab pills with sips of Gatorade Zero.
