Adorable!
I hope monkey will prefer canned turkey over live.

[quote=“Chefguy, post:214, topic:1020844”] “Whatcha watching, Dad?”

Another “Adorable!” She also looks like she knows just how wrapped around her paw you are. It’s a good look for her.
I knew Mrs. L.A. wanted to do some yard work today, but I thought we were going to Bellingham. After I had a shower, SWMBO said I could mow the back yard. (She mowed the front.) I said I’d do it tomorrow. ‘Well, the mower’s out…’ I watched the rest of Hang 'Em High and then went out to do what I was told. She vacuumed whilst I was out, and now she has the Bissell out to clean up the cat vomit stains on the carpet. (Simple Green works a treat. No need to buy expensive stuff.) Oh, and I cleaned the toilet earlier.
ETA: My credit union opens a new window for my credit card account. (I guess it’s not in-house anymore.) Last time I went to it, the page looked corrupted. Same thing today. So I cleared all of my history. It worked, but now I have to log into all of the webpages that require it.
EDIT 2: I’m starting the slow process of dropping my over-30-year-old email address. Got Farcebook switched…
She has really bonded. If I go take a shower, she wanders around meowing and looking for me. If I go down the hall to get rid of trash, she follows me.
Howdy Y’all! We had quality cee-mint pond time, but limited it to two hours cause it was and still is steamy outside. Definitely glad to be inside and in the a/c. We achieved nappage and day drinkin’ as well. We have some good ‘maters from the produce stand, so I fried up some bacon for BLTs. Soooooo good! Now I shall see whatup on teh intartoobz.
This made me giggle. I had a black cat who once learned that lesson with a White Rock chicken.
cookie, that’s a good pic of Sadie.
I couldn’t get hold of Jennifer, so I’ll call her Monday. I did, however, talk to two of my sisters. Other than that, I packed up another box and chilled.
So You all have been busy today, I’ll try to touch on everyone, but it might not happen cause stuff keeps happening here.
Ronald hasn’t gone out for another walk, but one of his granddaughters is staying with him this week just in case.
We got the keys for that little house. Well, we got the code for the key-lock and promised to lock up after ourselves. It looked clean and in good repair. Needs paint and the appliances could stand to be updated but they are still functional. The carpet looked newish and didn’t have any stains or smells and the lino in the wet rooms didn’t have visible damage.
The back yard is fenced and there is a carport attached to the house. There is only one clothesline pole. It has the crossbar, so wasn’t meant to have one of those turning ones attached.
The next door neighbor man came over to see what was going on (plus in our book) and seemed receptive to having the house occupied again. He also seemed to know a lot about the house and it’s history which is also a plus.
We sat with Ronald and watched TV with him for a bit before coming home. I’m starting to think that painting guy has his own channel because it seems to be the only thing that’s ever on his TV. That’s fine, he’s much easier to listen to than anything else on nowadays.
Before we left, I cleaned and quartered some tomatoes and put them with stuff in the crock pot to stew down into sauce. When I got home all I had to do was hit it with the immersion blender to smooth everything out.
I browned and spiced some locally grown ground beef and stuffed some home grown bell peppers and put them in the oven. Yesterday I made mozzarella while I was making a big batch of cottage cheese for Ronald, so I had that to top the peppers. I also grated up some 10 month old parm to top them before serving because cheese makes everything better.
I feel very country when I get to be able to do that sort of thing
She knows who saved her from that horrible shelter (I’m sure it is a very nice shelter, but I’m also sure she didn’t like being there). It’s fairly obvious who’s in charge
I always love this time of year. I’ve already relearned that yes, I can eat too many fresh tomatoes in one day. I’ll forget again by next year.
LOL! They never listen!!!
Back in AZ, one of my neighbor’s dogs got out and went after a feral peacock. I watched dog retreat and I don’t think her feet touched the ground until she got up the porch. Hehehehe.
So I couldn’t find live catnip at any of the plant nurseries (folks here are too smart to plant mint in their yards) so I bought a very sad looking one for way too much money at PetCo. It took a while to recover but now it is thriving. I’ve started topping it off and bringing the bits in for GG.
He loves his Jolene. She can have his bed and share his food and eat his treats right out from under him. She cannot have his fresh catnip! He’ll be laying on the floor, rubbing his face and neck on the crushed leaves and she will try to reach her head under his. If it was treats, she would get them, no problem. Not the fresh nippers, he reaches out one of his big front feets and holds her head like a teenager with a baseball.
Hurray! And bummer about being hurty. I know you are probably tired of hearing about Tai Chi, but the gentle stretches before a work out might be helpful.
Thunder. That’s why I fed catnip to GG. He hates thunder and I like to help him take the edge off. Off I go to sit on the front porch and watch the magic sky water. This never gets old.
The actual race has started and SenBoy is doing fair. He’s got his ups and downs in competitions.
Sometimes he’s up with the better kids but then other times he drops lower than they do. The have more consistency.
But it’s all good. He’s trying hard and having fun with his friends. The cool thing about sports is that you can connect with people.
SenGirl is a volunteer on shore and with her English ability then has been quite useful.
As her dad, I’m banished from even glancing over at her while she’s with the other volunteers.
And a good early evening all. Laundry has been put in it’s proper niches. Went to the gym to watch the Women’s soccer game and of course it went to overtime and then penalty kicks so I exercised more calories than I had planned too…which suited me fine, just finished 4 slices of garlic cheese toast as an after-dinner treat and am still below my daily calorie count. Been some rain in the area and might get a little more in a couple of hours, so I’ll be a homebody the rest of the evening.
Need to call the Electric company Monday, they collect my bill via direct deposit from my checking, never had a problem before but this time, instead of the $103 I owed they debited my account…$3. Now, saving $100 would be nice, but one I’m a reasonably honest guy and two, they would probably charge me interest if they found the error on their own. So I’ll call and ask them if they decided to award me for being a good customer or did their computer burp.
It wasn’t bad, but it took me a couple of days to actually try it, while trying to figure out what it was (why I didn’t just google it I’ll never know).
FCM, hope FCD gets over being stubborn and gets checked out, it’s going to come back and bite him.
red, Congrats on the almost-apartment.
Cookie, I have 72,000 miles on my 2017 Dodge and thought I was being pretty conservative in my usage…think you’ll have that for quite a while, And lovely picture of Sadie, so glad she is doing well.
shoe, I laughed at the mental picture of Monkey going out as the Great Feline Hunter and coming back yelling 'you didn’t tell me they were that big and mean."
JtC, sounds like things are working their way out. Enjoy the stuffed peppers.
Sensei, glad Senboy is having fun and Sengirl is doing well as a volunteer. And you’re just doing the Dad thing…
Whelp, another Pepsi Zero sounds about right just now, so take care all.
.
Hooray for another adventurous day for Sensei & SenKids.
And for cats attacking things they ought not. That’ll learn 'em.
And hooray for too many tomatoes for JtC. Maybe that shuld be her alternate MMP name: too many tomatoes.
Had a nice day here, breakfast, minor groccage, a nap, then dinner & a show at our local music venue featuring this dude & his band. Truly excellent all around:
Big news was completing my prep for my trip next week while GF is wrapping up Mom’s move. Pal and I are heading to a different part of coastal Costa Rica for deep sea fishing and similar male pursuits. Releasing our inner Ernest Hemingways. But with fewer (read “zero”) cigs. Everything is now reserved; all we need to do is pile some clothes in a carryon and run out the clock. Oughtta be fun.
The near term excitement is seeing GF tomorrow & overnight. Her train arrives at the nearby station 5pm-ish. We agree it’s been far too long.
Anybody else guilty pleasure movies they love to watch? I had a bonus today. There have been a lot of shark movies on lately, as Shark Week is coming up on TV. So I saw The Meg was on and watched. Love the scene with Jason Stratham wet and with just a towel on. Then, following it I discovered a movie I didn’t know, The Meg II!!! Right towards the end you even saw the Yorkie from the first movie. It was sinking it’s teeth into the tentacle of a giant squid!
Go early and take a look around for those recessed access doors. They tend to be pointed at the trains, not the waiting area. Most folks on the train won’t be looking out the windows into the maintenance area, they will be looking towards the doors and landings.
If you’re on the budget plan and went under budget, it may be the time of year that they reconcile that. The $3 may be their monthly service fee that isn’t covered by that.
Stripes. I usually watch that every few years. The other is Disney’s animated Robin Hood. I first saw that in the theatre as a kid when it first came out and have owned it on VHS and DVD. Now, I just watch it on Disney+ when I’m somewhere that has that.
Ah, gg, never change, buddy.
Sounds like great times for senfamily.
The Meg movies are great fun. The wee dog is the best.
Quiet day here, lager wanted lap time so no shopping trip today. He is a lovey dovey.
I ducked my first Jeep today.
Light-ish sort today. The bigger news is Brown is trying to offer a buyout to drivers. Which A. is questionable since it’s not collectively bargained and violates the CBA, B. is insulting low($1800/yr worked, less than a top progression driver would make in a year, and less than a Workers Comp Buyout). C. the buyout language suggests if you start it, but don’t finish the paperwork, you are automatically considered quit with no mind changing and no money. Fun times. I’ve had on and off thunderstorms all afternoon, and into the night. Dinner tonight was Asian BBQ stirfry with a Vieux Carré.
Build a snowman? Pester local wildlife?
Just you. PBR pairs well with bacon and eggs.
Jenny from the (apartment)Block?
Sounds like Spot. Well, he wants attention, then gets bored with the primate, wanders off, then resets when I go to another room.
To quote Rick James: “CocaineCatnip is a hell of a drug.”
I’m so sorry, you said what now?
I must research this documentary footage. Y’know, for science.
Oh, you are so BAD!
Triple gold medal awarded to the Floozy Advice O’The Day.
Ah, yes. I remember being a girl that age. Best pretend you don’t exist (at least in public).
Better than a goose or swan, but barely.
Just curious: what bread do you use for your BLTs?
Good local maters and home-fried bacon calls for the GOOD bread.
Got a wild hair up my ass a touch of ambition earlier today before work, so I gathered up the majority of the household yuckitude, hauled it outside, and even took the bin to the curb a day ahead, because 1a.) they keep forecasting storms, and 2b.) that sucker is FULL and Ye Gawds forbid I forget to haul it to the curb tomorrow.
Including replacing Monkey’s litter box, which he insists on pooping in, like, every damn day. I gotta stop feeding him!
Was all proud of myself, though, thinking, “I had time to do this tomorrow, cuz I’m ‘early out’ but go me, being all productive today!”
NOPE!
Can’t read a schedule for shit, probably just wishful thinking looking at the schedule’s line for the girl listed after me (she’s early out tomorrow … I am … sadly, not.)
Treated myself to Beef A La Mongols, plus some soooooouuuuuuup. Looking forward to it, except every damn time I forget to ask for those little tiny white fried noodles to be packed separately, so instead of being nice and crispy they have soaked up half the yummy sauce, which is … I guess not the worst thing ever.
Do you mean Bob Ross? (Guy with the 'fro.) Cuz he’s had a massive resurgence, most likely due to many people needing sooooooothing voices, during these troubled times.
Also, dude could scratch out a painting in no time flat. Some happy little trees here, somehow some brush strokes turned into boulders, a happy little cloud there, and voila!
It’s 7 of the AM here and we’re tied to the dock in Reykjavik. And, no surprise here, it’s mega-foggy. Dammit. We’ve got an excursion to a bunch of outdoor sites. With luck, the fog will hug the coast and we’ll get to see the sights.
One is Thingviller - there the American and EuroAsian plates are pulling apart at a rate of about an inch a year. The intrepid can snorkel in the split. We’re not intrepid. But it should still be cool. We’re also going to a geothermal area and should see a geyser, and also to a huge waterfall. So a nature-filled excursion.
That should fill the afternoon.
Daughter told me yesterday that Casey is leaving today. Justin came yesterday to take her home. So I had Daughter take my debit card and pull out some cash to pay her. And meanwhile, Daughter and SIL will tend to mail and Ziva for the week. Dunno if they can mow any more due to much rain. I wonder if we’re going home to a swamp?
And so our last week abroad begins. Happy Sunday!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 93 and mostly sunny. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization. I have verger duty cause other verger asked me if I would. Her husband had a fall Thursday night and broke his arm and cracked a few ribs. He had surgery Firday. He is doin’ OK. She said he was bitchin ‘ and moanin’ (he’s at home now) which means he’s his usual self. We have a supply Priest this mornin’. BP will be back with us next Sunday as paternity leave ends sometime this week. The plan after deheathenization is to get a pizza from Dominos (don’t judge!) as it’s on the way back to da cave plus we have a coupon. The rest of the day will involve high RDOS inactivities.
Shoe our sammich bread of choice is Aldi’s brand wheat bread. We’re easy to please.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, purtification for deheathenization shall commence.
Happy Sunday Y’all!
