(Old) Getting Organised in the MMP

Of course it does. But note that I said “very massive”.

I can remember the day I was late back from lunch because I had gone to three petfood places for their perferred grain-free fud so didn’t have time to get lunch for ourselves. My next life will be to come back as hub’s cat.

I hope I don’t offend Misty but I have to say that doves aren’t the brightest of birds. They are smarter than quail, but that really isn’t saying much.

I looked Purple Martins up to see how long it would be before they were gone for the year. They are pretty neat birds, I didn’t know that they migrated so far every year.

I’m actually glad they alerted us to the sag in the soffit though, that is not an area of the yard we have any need to spend time in. I’m a little annoyed at the home inspector because this isn’t a new nest site and he should have said something in his report about the soffit needing repair.

During my breaks, I noticed that there is bus service and looked it up. Door to door pick up is 2 bucks a trip and it runs through three counties on a frequent basis. When Hubs gets back I plan to take the bus round trip to see where and how it works and will invite him to go with me. We might need that service in the future.

I doubt she has the brainpower to be offended  . Ava was probably a bit brighter by dove standards, but that’s not really saying much. The term “birdbrain” exists for good reason.

Lager makes it very clear.

When he is pouty he “yeets” anything in paw reach, roars, then settles into an operatic aria of vengeance.

When he is happy he settles down, purring and rolling around a bit.

That’s a really smart thing to do. Most people (myself included) would just wait until we needed to use the bus and then be stuck having to figure out stops, routes, etc. on the fly. Good thinking!

Poor Misiu! I hope that he feels better soonest.

Nelson was pretty much housebroken when I got him at 3 months old. I was vigilant for a month or two, taking him outside whenever I got up for a bio break for myself and four times during the day.

Irked, came home, walked the dog and et. Not a whole lot shakin’ here at CasaRoja.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Up from naptime. I dreamed someone stole one of our package cars, and was driving through the forest inside the building. the cops were chasing it with a FedEx truck, instead of their shiny new APC. Having the usual cheeseburger, fries, and Old Fashioned for dinner. Getting ready to watch some hockey.

French 75 for a school bus, Old Fashioned for a city bus, Jack and Coke for a Greyhound.

Fun fact. The local soccer team’s field is where the N.C. Natural History Museum used to bury whales for natural defleshing. So the supporter’s group is The Dead Whales Society.

Always good to have a back up plan. I know all the local bus routes that go past a good bar.

She has mass, unless she made of photons.

And you chose correctly.

My friend and his wife, and I lived in the same apartment building. Didn’t see them as much after they moved to West Hollywood, and haven’t spoken with either of them since I moved up here in 2003.

No luck with the scratch off.
Hair washed, going to watch KillTony.

Do you ever make him pouty on purpose just to enjoy the show?

Thank you, that is very kind of you to say. If/when we have to give up driving, learning how to use public transport won’t be easy. It is best to know what I’m doing first. Preppers don’t just hoard food…

But this is first class prepping!

I’m too mundane, I’d have picked grapefruit juice and Gray Goose vodka for that one.

Mom is calling, she is so upset about this move and I really don’t know what to say to her about it. TTYAL

Poor FCD - I fear his mother and aunt are going to make him bat-crap crazy this week. And she’s kinda pissed me off- she’s been telling everyone about my episode, including her old neighbors in Florida. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised tho - I heard more about FIL’s post-prostate surgery prosthetic than anyone other than his doctor needed to know. Moral of the story - don’t tell her anything.

They’re packed, boarding passes are printed, parking pass is printed, alarm is set for 5:30. Roxy will be here around 8:30. It will be interesting. I need sleep!

Sometimes instead of putting him in the bathroom (where neighbours can hear his roar and aria), I put a basket over him.

That quiets him down quicker ( no tile reverb) then after about 5 or so minutes he will stand up and walk around carrying the basket. That is amusing.

Walking laundry baskets always entertain me too.

This reminds me of a The Little Rascals scene. One of the small children was put under a laundry basket. Another kid (I think it was Spanky) says, ‘See what you get for being smart?’

May MIL sleep through the whole plane trip.

Happy Moonday!

I called the vet first thing this morning and we got an appointment for 9.
I had my son take him in, I was feeling a bit queasy this morning and waited in the truck.
Poor Misiu, when the vet squeezed his toe, Misiu screamed and peed. Then the vet had to manipulate the nail, and Misiu screamed again. They took x-rays and his toe wasn’t broken. When he was back getting x-rays, my son heard lots of screaming and howling. Fortunately, it was not Misiu. The vet said he was really good.
The vet thinks he may have caught his nail on something and it cracked near the base.
So, antibiotics and pain pills for that.
I thought the vet wouldn’t do anything else since it was an emergency visit, but she asked my son if we needed anything else.
Misiu got a full checkup, heartworm test, distemper and rabies vaccines. He has an ear infection so his ears were flushed and meds put in. More antibiotics for that. His canines are okay, they aren’t at the proper angle, but they aren’t causing any damage. I was worried about that.
We got Heartguard and Nextguard.
$750 - vets are getting expensive!

He hasn’t gotten any bigger since he was neutered. He weighed 59 pounds then, and 58 pounds now.
I guess his balls weighed a pound.

You sent the right link Boo.
I had just been looking at ones with detachable seats.
I try very hard not to hunch over with the walker. When I catch myself doing it, I make myself stand up straight.

Tired day today. I couldn’t sleep last night, probably because I slept all day yesterday.

TBI friend just called. He saw my number on his phone, and was calling to find out who it was. We talked for like 45 minutes today. :frowning:

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. I wonder what madcap insianity is in store today?

Glad Misiu got something for the toe.

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 10c/50f with a predicted high of 13c/55f and mostly cloudy. Weather app says “It’s sort of gloomy as fuck outside. It’s like a goth fucking weather day.” It’s definitely grey out there, there were spots of rain but also a bit of sun.

Happy birthday, VanGo!

flyboy sorry to hear about your friend’s wife, I’m sure he appreciated the call even if he couldn’t remember it later.

JtC I’m surprised the building inspector didn’t mention the soffit either, that’s the kind of thing you expect to see on a report but maybe it wasn’t sagging enough at the time? Finding the bus is useful too, and going on a ride around the entire route will be fun, you never know what you might find!

swampy I am very jealous of your t-storms (and the fact you have a porch where you can sit and watch them with an appropriate beerverage).

I’ve been outside to haul the biiiiiig recycling bin out for collection, and it’s already been emptied. Not much drama today either, the neighbours tried to recycle a plastic tub but that was unacceptable (it’s hard plastic) so that’s sitting on their garden path waiting for them to come home and put it in the other bin.

We has some t-boomers roll thru last night along with what sounded like good rain. No need to water my garden today!

Poor FCD - it’s already started. I made his mom some hot chocolate and put it in an insulated travel mug with a lid. Before he even started the car, she spilled it in her lap. How that HELL does one spill that much chocolate from such a small slit in the lid?? And this is after she forgot that she has over $200 in her purse - money that we counted yesterday. It’s FIL’s dementia all over again.

No, it started last night - we were trying to find her potassium pills (she’s been taking liquid form, but TSA, yanno) - they were nowhere to be found! But MIL insisted on looking - she was ready to open the piano bench. WT-everlovin’-F??? Then she wanted me to tip FCD’s recliner over and look underneath.

Sorry - I just had to get that out. I feel so sorry for my sweetie. He’s got a week of hell ahead and I can’t help.

Roxy will be here in a couple of hours, then my fun begins. We’ll see how well she self-entertains. Meanwhile, I plan to strip both beds. Not sure what else I’ll be up for today - I hardly slept - maybe 5 hours?

Maybe I should just take my cranky self and hide under the covers.

Yeah, whatever, Happy Tuesday. :stuck_out_tongue:
