(Old) Getting Organised in the MMP

Today w b mason had its vendor event at the local ballpark. First one since 2019. It was crazy packed at 9 am.

I got lots of pens, managed to get some really cool samples, some fun stress things, and a tour of the ballpark.

When you arrive they give you a tote bag. This year they had a w b mason truck in it! That is a big score, I guess they had money saved up from the years they didn’t have the event.

We were there from 9- quarter to 3. I had 2 full bags.

Some of it I will keep for me, I do have a bit of a bag to go to the office. I did drop one bag at the office, my coworker drove so I didn’t have to drag things around the subway.

I did a work around. Her ya go! Cross stitch card

I’m sorry for your loss flyboy. Hugs.

She’s beautiful! <3

Happy birthday flyboy!

Irked, came home, walked Nelson, threw sticks for Bella and et. Now for KP and studio chillage.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Hehehe flyboy You said “petcock”.

Yay!

Sounds good! We had pot roast for dinner they would have gone good together.

Happy Birthday, flyboy!!

Ok, well, I did manage an ambush and had a positive discussion with the head guy. Since it was an ambush, it was a basic conversation where we both confirmed my interest and said we’d get together and talk again in the sort of near future.

Now I’ve reached the awkward stage where I second guess everything I said earlier. :grimacing:

From more than a dozen years ago, when I worked at the Campbell’s Soup factory that is no longer here.

26 August 2011 2320 PDT

Seanette's birthday is today.

Her favorite soup is Campbell’s Chunky New England-Style Clam Chowder, product 10658.

So, I get to work today, and guess what’s coming off the line? That’s right. Product 10658. Chunky New England-Style Clam Chowder. We’re making an absurd amount of it today; more of it than any other product. It was coming off the line since long before I arrived at work, it was still coming off the line when I left, and I estimate it will continue to come off the line until well into tomorrow morning.

That is so cute! I aspire to be creative some day.

Our housekeeper said she would like to learn how to do needlework, so I ordered a plastic canvas kit from da jungle. It arrived today and it was that stiff plastic with fragile “threads” so I returned it. I don’t like working that stuff, I don’t want to set her up for failure on her first try.

I called the inspection company and sent pics showing the sag and bird poop. I did fuss a bit and a new inspector came out today. I followed him around and pointed at things. I didn’t try to get into the crawl space because the plumbers said such nice things about it, but I did locate a couple of other issues (all small) that we didn’t know about when we made the offer on the home. More fussing happened and the inspection company is going to pay for the missed repairs. Except for the bird nest soffit, they will send someone out after I call them and tell that the birds have flown. They say. More fussing might be required.

Happy Birthday Flyboy, I hope things went well all day.

Go to the dollar sto and buy some fake flowers and packing tape. Cover the fridge with flowers and pretend you are making art.

I just looked dorm fridges up on da jungle and they are not that pricey. I’d be willing to kick in a few bucks to allow you to have cold food. PM me if you think I’d be nicer about it than that bitch you share blood with.

I didn’t click on your link, I don’t like not-funny shit that involves abusing retail folks.

Poor kitty and poor you. I hope this isn’t a recurring problem. Have you put them on filtered water? Our vet told us to never give our fuzzbutts tap water because of the UTI’s. It has worked nicely for us, no wee wee problems happened after that.

Oh geeze, just what that poor man needed. I hope he recovers quickly with no issues.

Fingers crossed! Do you need recommendation letters? We are neighbors, of course I’d be happy to write a glowing letter for you.

Are progressives an option? I have been in progressives since I was younger than you and I love them. I couldn’t imagine having to see that line all the time.

Back when I rode my scoot to work, I told a co-worker that I was going to have to replace my petcock that weekend because it was leaking. He looked HORRIFIED, why was I even looking at my pet’s cock?!?! Much laughter happened.

Howdy Y’all! Home from the last book group thingy over to the church house. OK, been home a while, but needed some chawklit chip cookies and milk first. We decided to have N.O.L. at the not too shabby Chinese hog trough buffet and then go procure provisions. After provisions were stowed nappage occured, so that worked out well. I am feelin’ sleepified, so bedtime may be soonest. Oh and doc visit went well. I am still alive.

shoe some folk think prankin’ places like pizza joints is funny. Those folk are classless and uncouth IMHO.

doggio gin and chikin is one of the best shoppin’ lists ever! Also, tomorrow has been declared a day of high sloth.

WetOne hope Ursala kitteh is all better soonest.

MOOOOOOM glad the doc appts. got made. We are also in multiple doc mode. Well, OYKW more than me, but still…Yikes! on FCD’s back stuff!

Sticky_Buns that does seem, well, weird.

Coppertone yay for new dentures!

rocker yay on the cool swag!

JtC good for you with the inspector. Fuss. Fuss a lot. Be Fussy McFussyson. Remind them you are retired so you got all the time in the world to fuss.

Thank y, but you too, are a creative. I used to do a lot of plastic canvas years ago. My favorite was 10 count using pearl cotton or strands of floss and whatever pattern I took a fancy to.

I hope Ursula over the UTI soonest wet one.

Had a lovely day here in Panamá. Leisurely breakfast then set out to walk a couple miles along the corniche to the midtown area. Mostly sunny, a decent breeze and not too hot at first, although after 90+ minutes walk in the unrelenting tropical sun we were rather pitted out.

Made it to The Wallace Panama, a locally famous Scottish pub landmark. My pal was born in Scotland, coming to the US as a kid. So we do a lot of hitting random things with a Scottish connection. This place isn’t just pretending, it was started by Scots expats, of which there were many 100 years ago.

Anyhow a fine meal was had: cottage pie with mushy peas for me, a salmon something or other for him. Plus a shared sticky toffee for dessert. And no small amount of fine single malt.

That mission accomplished we Ubered home in the pre-dusk then hiked a bit more and finally settled at another rooftop bar to finish the evening. Now at 9:30pm we’re both back to our rooms and I at least am thinking of bed; he might already be asleep.

There’s what appears to be a very expensive wedding reception for ~300 people set up in the courtyard of the hotel beneath my balcony. One hopes the music will quit before 3am, but I’m not counting on it. As I said to Pal: “This is Latin America, not Des Moines. They’ll still be having fun at sunrise.”

Tomorrow the outline of our plan was to have a leisurely breakfast, then uber out to the airport for our 1pm flight home. The weather has been frankly disastrous in Miami the last few days with no sign of lightening up soon. Today’s flights operated 2+ hours late. At some point the airline’s ability to adapt to sustained scheduling pressure runs out and they’re forced to aggressively curtail flights to avoid a Snowball of Doom. Tomorrow might be that day.

A side effect of all that happiness was I had to buy a last minute ticket, rather than relying on space-available hitchhiking. Sigh. But at least I know I’ll get on … if the flight operates at all. The day promises a lot of sitting around, but one hopes for nothing worse than that.

With luck by late night Thu I’ll be home. We shall see.

As to y’all …

Good to hear that FCD is getting the treatment he needs.

Wise advice.

Gonna try to wrap it up now and go to sleep over the rock’n’roll.

Cheers!!!

Good evening all. Did my swimming and foraged a bit for sustenance, managed not to get any of my clean dishes dirty. Will head off to pack for the trip after this message, not too worried about the normal stuff, but do want to be sure I take all the refereeing items with me, going to be 250 miles away if I forget something. Decided to gas up car tomorrow morning so I can make the run to Knoxville, hopefully without having to stop.

Let’s see what went down today…

Taters, that was a pretty good windstorm.

FCM, sounds like you and Roxy had a pretty good day. And yeah for getting FCD his appointment. Glad the Indy horse-pistol could help with his aches and pains.

Cookie, Publix, Wal-Mart and Kroger have pretty well cornered the supermarket business here, a lot of local/independent stores have closed here in the past 4-5 years and Kroger/Publix are building new stores right and left.

shoe, I’m with JtC, PM if you need a few bucks for a good replacement.

wet one, glad Ursala’s UTO was treatable, hope she’s feeling better soon.

Sticky Buns, you have apparently generated a lot of interest, hope some good comes of it soon. And some businesses are more impromptu than others.

Coppertone, Hooray for the new dentures.

When it comes to soup, I am a traditional Chicken Noodle soup guy, pretty much the only thing in my cabinet right now.

rocky, sounds like some of the US Army Aviation events I went to, tons of vendors and lots of displays. Glad you had fun and yeah, they like to give stuff away at those conventions.

JtC, good on ya for keeping the inspectors in-line. Your putting down new roots here, might as well make it as good as possible at the start. Fussing is not a bad thng.

Pilot, the menu on-line looks tasty, pity I can’t read Spanish. Have a good flight home, but it looks like rain has settled in for fairly long stay in South Beach.

All right, need to do that packing and sorting and remember all the things I am forgetting. If I don’t get on-line tomorrow early, I’m taking phone and laptop with me so will try to resume contact sometime tomorrow. Take care all.

I’ve only been coming to my church since Oct. But a wonderful couple got married there today. I wasn’t invited, tis ok. The cool part was the bridesmaids wore orange, as did the best man, the groomsmen wore orange ties.
It looked good. Orange is a cheerful color. They are about 40, she has a few kids.

Before I fall head first in to mindless Netflix or Paramount + streaming and wake up partway into Thursday sleep drooling on my iPad:

Just curious - do you at least get a discount when you purchase a ticket?

You’ve told us before about how the “free flying” perk isn’t quite as glamorous as it sounds… but it certainly does git ya to some cool places.

I don’t have my new chompers yet, first I must go through the difficulty of being plaster casted.

Or you could just get plastered.

Happy Hump Day!

Happy Blelated Birthday VanGo

Happy Birthday FlyBoy
I am sorry about your friend

I wanted to turn the heat on last night. I resisted and woke up several times freezing.
Now it is hot in here.

I looked into getting pet insurance several years ago MetalMouse
I thought it wasn’t worth it. It could be different now and I probably should look at some policies. I can get insurance through the AKC, but that is not always such a good deal.

The vet didn’t say how long until Misiu will heal, Red. I suppose that when it grows out a bit, we can trim the nail.
Misiu is already walking better. He is still limping, but he is putting weight on his foot. His toenail is pointing straight ahead again instead of pointing at an angle to the side. The swelling has gone down a lot.

Ms Dog is very cute!

It is looking like my son won’t have OT on Friday. I hope not.

I made the mistake of ordering a crab cake in VA once. You’d think with VA being on the bay, they would have some good seafood. Nope.
Sometimes I watch cooking videos of people making crab cakes. Most make me want to scream at them. As much as I love green pepper and onion, neither belongs in a crab cake.
France has a law as to what ingredients can go into French bread. There should be a law about what goes into crabcakes. You can put other stuff in if you want, but you can’t call them crabcakes. There was a place in Baltimore that was putting pineapple in their crabcakes. Some kind of Hawaiian fusion bs.
I’m surprised they didn’t get run out of town.
Maybe they did.

 we seen the same documentaries i wonder how much dissapointmtnt thats been had over the years when people found out id didnt happen to them

for the past 2 days ive had very painful episodes … i havent hurt this bad since i had covid …so yays boos condolences ill let ya know if i live …

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

Awww. But glad Ursala is on the mend.

Me, too

Looks like my kinda place

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 11c/51f with a predicted high of 14c/57f, and cloudy. Weather app says “It could be warmer outside, but you could also have more fucking alligators in your kitchen. Count your fucking blessings.”

Poor pussentat, and poor you. I hope she’s ok, those are often easy to fix.

You just need to get in there and remind them what an amazing person they would be losing if they didn’t hire you!

Yay for fussing! They must have heard about your cane exploits, you’ve scared them already!

Yesterday’s commute home got messed with somewhat by the Travel Gods so I was later than I wanted to be, hence a bit of rushing around at home before I escaped to the pub with friends. The Travel Gods decided to make up for it this morning by delaying the nice train just long enough for me to get on it (bus to the station was late!) so I was here in good time.

There are two exam boards today, I’ve already sorted out the issues for one of them and told the Chair what to do, what to say and which order we need to do things. Yes, there’s an agenda but the format of their meetings means they do items 1 and 2, skip item 3, do items 4-6 and close that session of the meeting. Everyone goes away to look at the online documentation, reconvenes a couple of hours later and goes through item 3 the onto 7-10. Then it’s all over!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and partly N.O.S. with a predicted high of 92 and N.O.S. for the day. The big item on today’s agenda is to go get shorn and then have “brunch” at Waffle House. I say “brunch” cause can one really do brunch at Waffle House? Then it will be back to da cave for sloth, quality cee-mint pond time, nappage, and day drinkin’. Any other need to feed today will be via forage.

Pilot hope the flight back home is smooth and uneventful and that y’all don’t have to wait all day at the airport.

MetalMouse have a safe and uneventful trip to Knoxville.

sari glad Misiu is feelin’ a little better.

shades feel better soonest!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and alack, I suppose I should purtify and don attire acceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. Such bother!

Happy Thursday Y’all!
