(Old) Getting Organised in the MMP

Yeah, kinda.

The appnt. for the electric co. rebate program to come haul it off is … a coupla weeks off. Meanwhile, this thing’s gotta sit in my driveway - landlady & neighbors gonna lurve that - and I am now in the market for a replacement.

Which my mother said she’d help with.

A few days ago.

'Cept, last night, she kept trying to “cheer me up” with “funny” videos.
Which was a series of some asshole prank-calling businesses.
Most of which were pizza places, because, to my mother’s sociopath mind, is HILARIOUS. Cuz, yanno, I work at a pizza place. Which never gets its fair share of fucking prank calls, order-no-show, etc.

I finally (by text) read her the fucking riot act, pointing out that every ha-ha-funny video represents a waste of business resources, wasted food, employee costs etc. and her reply was, “Smile, it’s a joke!” and I LOST IT AT HER b.c. on top of everything else, do not ever order me to smile, I hear enough of that shit at work …

… and I’m guessing asking her for $$ for the fridge probably won’t go over so well right now.

In other news, I found a cute Father’s Day card the other day, and since I was awake and pissed off anyway, why NOT go to the post office?

So that’s sent off, with full postage, with a semi-schmaltzy handwritten note inside.

Oh, and here’s one of the “funny” videos. It’s so cringe.

It was hot. And the SSLAWs had more breakdown than a Univison Telenova marathon. I need to run out and get gin and chicken after Spot and I have our dry, flavorless bits.

She stopped at the Vatican on the way over. :stuck_out_tongue:

:partying_face: :birthday: :champagne:HAPPY BIRTHDAY FLYBOY!!!:champagne: :birthday::partying_face:

Must be in higher income area. That’s why I shop at the Poor People’s Aldi.
Everything is 4-5 cents less.

You’d think the Viet Cong would be happy with them.

Maybe take off from work for the rest of the week to recover.

Ursala Kitteh is at the vet for a suspected UTI (clinically known as a wee wee problem). The vet will see her between appointments. Of course I’m at home being a nervous wreck.

flyboy Happy birthday!! Seems we’ve got a lot of June kids here.

Vet just called. Ursala Kitteh is getting a long lasting antibiotic shot for her UTI. Poor kitty. :black_cat:

“You will laugh it.” Well, I laughed at that.

Happiest of birthdays, flyboy!!!

Got FCD a dermatologist appointment next Weds in Prince Frederick. A little farther drive than my derm, but at least he doesn’t have to wait till August.

Roxy helped me with some weeding and mulching. We had lunch. Now she’s doing a craft with one of her b-day gifts (which I suspect was regifted - the paint in it was all dried out.) I had some extra paint in the basement, so she’s happy.

It’s a tad overcast, but no rain threatened for a couple of days - guess it’s just some passing clouds. Whatevs… :stuck_out_tongue:

While I’m sure you’re right, that couldn’t be further from my spouse’s motivation. Just the thought of her being worried about status makes me chortle. I think it’s more a matter of the place being close, local and having good produce. There is an Aldi that is also close, but it’s disgustingly dirty.

And I just made myself an appt with the cardiologist - July 19!! Fortunately, it’s not an urgent need and FCD speaks highly of this Dr. And so it begins - we’re in the multiple Dr mode. Dammit.

I’m glad you got a laugh; those seem to have been in a bit of short supply in your world recently.

Although I apologize for the implied slight to your fine and sensible wife.

As to Flyboy, I didn’t want to mix condolences with happy birthdays, so now’s the time for round 2:

:musical_score: :notes: Happy birthday to you! :musical_note:
:musical_score: :notes: Happy birthday to you! :musical_note:
:musical_score: :notes: Happy birthday dear Flyyyyy Boyyyyyy!:musical_note:
:musical_score: :notes: Happy birthday to you!:musical_note:

And lots lots more.

Interestingly, there’s an urgent care for orthopedics in Indy and FCD went there this morning. All the hardware in his back got their attention! He’d fallen in the boat and has been in a lot of pain, so his aunt took him this morning. They did xrays and loaded him with drugs, and he’ll go back on Firday to see a surgeon (he saw a PA today) to get a consult.

The PA thinks all his hardware is fine - it’s just a bad bruise. Hence the consult with the surgeon. Always something… Unfortunately, his surgeon here will be out of the country for 6 weeks - if something has to be done, he’ll need to find someone sooner than that. To be continued…

Ok, so, there’s a slight chance that the place that I often hang out might be interested in hiring me. I sent an email with my resume on Monday because the big boss wasn’t here when I was. Now since I hadn’t heard from him, I decided to walk over. He left minutes before I got here. I’m currently sitting here waiting for his return and I’m very uncomfortable. I am used to a bit more formality when it comes to stuff like this. It’s sort of like, ok, well why don’t you come over and invite yourself to an interview all impromptu and such. Ugh.

So, I don’t know how long he’ll be gone and the second in charge is in a meeting. I am pretty certain that he drives everyone home in the afternoon which is in about an hour. Hopefully he’ll be back sooner so we can talk. Or at least schedule a time to talk.

Don’t get me wrong, I am grateful for the possible opportunity. I’m just worried about somehow making a fool of myself.

Ok, back to your regular mumping.

Just got my approval in the mail, I can get a new denture, yay!

New teeth, new job, AND new eyeballs? Gurl livin’ the DREAM over here.

In all seriousness, I hope things work out better for you than they have in the past.

  • signed, shoe, who still HATESES the new bifocals, she does!

Yaay! ETA: @SuntanLotion

shoe I’ve now got the bifocals for driving and reading, plus the mid range glasses for computering. I tried doing some phone texting last night with no glasses, had to rely on autocorrect entirely too much.

I don’t think I mentioned, and I know you’re all on the edges of your seats wondering, but FCD got his app to work and he locked his car. Huzzah and all that stuff!

I just put a blueberry crisp in the oven for tonight’s dessert. I’m opening a couple of cans of chicken noodle soup and a can of whomp biscuits for supper, because easy. Tomorrow, we’ll have sketties, Firday, Daughter will pick up pizza on her way to retrieve Roxy.

At the risk of jinxing everything, I think we’re settling down.

I got the spark plugs and fuel filter changed on the Seca II. I put the new petcock onto the new fuel tank. I need to see if I can get the handlebar of so I can try to get the triple-tree off.

I called my sister to tell her not to sign the letter from Trusted Recovery Group. I think she said she’d received a letter from the state. She also got phone calls from two asset recovery companies (not TRC). She wished me a happy birthday, and they asked me to send her money.

Campbell’s chunky chicken soup is not very good. I think I bought it because it was on sale. I shan’t make that mistake again. The whomp biscuits were good, tho. The blueberry crisp will be good, too.

And another day winds down.

YMMV. I personally like the stuff. I prefer their clam chowder, though.
