The pups have settled down, but ‘twas a rough evening for dogs and humans. Our power and internet went out. I had to walk Charlie at 6 p.m. The dogs’ people had said the dogs would bark unless I left TV or radio on. I don’t have a TV, but with no power, that wouldn’t work anyway. I thought of playing a long YouTube video, but no internet. I opened a long YouTube video on my phone for them.
Poor Charlie was sitting alone in the dark. His person had him groomed, and he now sports a mohawk. It looks silly. Imagine George Plimpton or Walter Cronkite in a mohawk, and you’ll get the general idea. We had a nice walk, but it was hard leaving him alone in the dark. When I got near my apartment, I could hear Eddy barking. For some reason, YouTube had quit.
Anyway, they calmed down. Effie sleeps in her bed with the covers concealing all but the tip of her muzzle. Eddy gets lifted onto the bed. They slept well and long and are now snoozing, Ed on the sofa and Effie on my bed.
I took the SAT. I don’t recall my score. I just remember a lot of excited people when I got the PSAT results and a crestfallen response when I got the SAT results. To be fair, I took the SAT on a university campus with only one other testee (or teste), and he kept humming “Let’s Get It On” while the proctor, sitting behind a glass wall, ignored both of us. No doubt if Marvin Gaye been featured in the test, the teste and I would’ve aced it.
CatGlove, I LOVE the Progresso hearty tomato soup. In fact, the other day, I made tomato soup that tastes a lot like it, as it’s $4.99 per can here. I’m also a fan of the light chicken noodle, so we have similar tastes.
And now I’ve got this running through my head:
Thirty-two cans of soup on the shelf/ thirty-two cans of SOOOOUP…
doggio, you must be a helluva cook. All your meals and cocktails sound wonderful. So did you get OT today? I can never remember when quitting time is.
That’s a washer of dubious character. Maybe it’d prefer laundering money.
My mother would have approved. She liked Barilla. She was not a fan of the American Beauty brand. I don’t know why, as I never bought it because she disparaged it.
WetOne, hope the knee improves! Also, the pot roast sounds delicious.
Well, that’s a poor question for kids that age, even gifted kids. Standardized tests can be a useful measure, but we put far too much emphasis on them. One of my issues is that kids with test anxiety, which I’ve found is actually fairly prevalent, tend to do poorly despite their knowledge. I also don’t like the fact that kids are expected to study themselves into a coma. When we were kids, there were no SAT or ACT prep programs because the test was supposed to measure what you’d learned, not what you crammed. Thanks for letting me use your soapbox.
There are so many more posts I want to respond to, but someone needs to water a lawn. It’s the circle of life, or pee, or something.
