[OLD] Have As Good A New Monday MMP As Possible

My new wife is not quite 4’11". The kitchen has one of these that gets used All. The. Time. As does its mate that lives in the walk-in clothes closet.

Regardless of where you buy it, be sure to get the 11" version, not the more common 9" version that’s just tall enough to fool you into thinking you can reach something you really can’t. Lest launchage and spillage ensue. Don’t ask how we learned this; it wasn’t pretty.

Up from naptime, having a Vieux Carré, and watching hockey.

Yay!

Lizard Princesses need love, too!

I tried one of those in New Orleans the last time I was there. Tasty but too sweet for me.

Right now in f***ing Texas I’m enjoying a martini and the bar/restaurant here has XFL and basketball on. About 4 TVs of each.

It’s the 2nd day of MLB season and they have basketball on the TV? Basketball. WTF is wrong with these heathens?!?! Oh, yeah; Because Texas. I forgot. Though the teams playing basket-f***ing-ball are from the two coasts, nowhere near this benighted place.

XFL I can love; the other activity (can’t call it a sport) is unmentionable in polite company. And where’s my Baseball? Harrumpph!

Lots and lots of cat butt coasters I hope.

Which gin? I like the Tanqueray #10

If it’s going to be gin tonight, I drink exclusively Bombay Sapphire or Hendricks. I despise turpentine.

Band name! I hope.

Other than that I am simply horrified. Why whatever do you mean, you refined person of distinguised tastes?

Still got a bunch from the last sale. So I’m making an octopus.

Very windy here, and t-storm warning in effect. Back to crocheting…

Reading this did at least as much good as if I’d seen your silver bird and known it was you waving! :purple_heart::blue_heart::green_heart: Sounds like you were following the Platte or Missouri down to warmth and sunshine.

Not able to nap but hanging in. Thanks for every one’s’ hugs and encouragements. It helps me cope, being able to kvetch and natter to all of you.

Still no call back from the after hours emergency line. Given up on them. Come Monday morning a department chair at the Dental College is going to get a phone call that they are not going to enjoy. I don’t just get mad, I get even. I will find out my avenues of recourse and get to it.

My sympathy to all who could use it. This is a schleppy week for me so I’m sorry I can’t respond more individually.

We were traveling a straight line from Omaha to Wichita. Happens to pass about 40 miles E of you. It was right at 3pm while I was waving. But yes, the Mighty MO goes at least partially along the same line before veering eastward and we were looking down upon that great river that later flows by my former residence.

When I have a significant medical challenge, I usually simply go camp in the relevant specialist’s waiting room until I pass out or kill somebody. Either way it’s an attention attracting maneuver that gets me the service I need.

Of course, like you, it always goes acute at about 4:45 pm on a Fri. Which makes waiting room camping a trifle awkward. The night watchman might be curious, but he’s not much help.

I like your style. I’ll try to channel that and the spirit of our Jane the Cane.

Probably more help than the purported big shots are proving to be.

Back when I was single and living alone, I found those Ikea plain pine bookshelves with the metal pegs for positioning the shelves to be very useful. When Mrs. L.A. moved in, she painted the tall one and the short one in the living room black. The short one was under the wall-mounted TV. Mrs. L.A. lost her balance one night, and fell on it. Broke it. I glued it back together, and it’s been good for years. Until today.

Our new TV came Thursday, and we mounted it and set it up today. Since it’s heavy, I put both couch cushions on top of the shelf so as to support the TV whilst I inserted and tightened the mounting bolts. It went more smoothly than I thought it would. Unfortunately, the TV was now pressing down on the cushions. In trying to extricate them from between the TV and the shelf, the repaired shelf broke. So Mrs; L.A. picked out and ordered (on my credit card) one of these. It should be here Thursday.

I put the broken TV, and the LG with the blue-ish screen, on Nextdoor today. No replies yet.

High school was 16 years ago and I haven’t touched it since… Never say never, but I have little appetite for writing these days. The occasional bit of poetry, that’s about it.

Happy Anniversary Cookie! Only 30 years? I didn’t know you two were still newlyweds

I got a good laugh out of it too! Sans carrot asperating that is.

Every so often Hubs will wonder out loud how this or that cat got so spoiled. I can’t do anything but shrug because its a mystery to me too!

VBC is GG’s primary groomer and she has been suffering with hairballs, hence the daily hairball treat in the morning. Hubs has always given them each 4 greenies at night “for their dental health”. They all get canned twice a day, but Crabby Old Cat also gets two more meals of special gooshy fud because he’s old sick guy. We can’t give one cat super stinky fud without giving the others something, so they get the “special” kibble out of the treat jar then. How can you possibly read all that and think that they are spoiled?!?!? :joy:

I’m so glad they have been vaxxed, it makes such a difference in recovery. Fingers crossed that they don’t end with long-term issues.

Maine Coons are supposed to be the most doglike cat breed around. I had no idea how long his tongue was before this started.

I have NEVER heard of Bark Butter before, thank you SO much. I don’t limit my critter spoiling to the inside ones yanno!

We have had a very wet winter, but it really hasn’t been that cold. The last freeze was about a month ago and the birds out this way try to get an early start cause summer comes so fast.

Have you maybe considered mentioning this to your doctor? Getting old sucks, but chemistry can help.

GO YOU!!! Good job

Very cute, as is your princess. I hope you make lots of money for the school.

I am another who receives boxes of random produce. I thought I had come up with the idea all by myself until a friend brought some to a Potluck. Humpf says I, so I looked it up online and there are so very many different recipes. All of them look delish, so I guess I will take back part of my humpf.

So far, mine has been pretty simple but they are a heat loving, drought tolerant plant that is grown commercially in Tucson. They are very attractive and the hummingbirds love the bright red flowers. If you have room, I think you should consider getting a tree of your own.

Today was as close to perfect as it could be. The weather was perfect for spending the day on the back porch, so that is what I did. I futzed around with my planters-the Columbines are coming up and are already over 6 inches tall and I put a hummingbird plant mix in the big flower planter where the catnip and 4 o’clocks grow wild.

I spent time stitching and just relaxing and listening to the birds, then Mom surprised me by calling to chat. (Of course my heart skipped a beat thinking that something was wrong because she tends to forget that the phone works both ways.) It’s still dark and gloomy and cold in Idaho and she is really upset about the new abortion ban. She grew up pre-Roe vs Wade and lost a friend due to a botched home abortion.

Besides quiet porch time (because I told hubs to shut off his computer and take his motorcycle for a ride…and he actually listened), today was Tai-chi. I felt bad for the instructor, nobody was focused and there were a lot of interruptions to distract us.

After working out, I treated myself to more sitting on the porch and listening to the birds while playing games on my tablet.

Hubs made surf and turf for dinner…steak for him and salmon for me with asparagus for both of us. Usually COC is banging his tin cup against cell bars by the time the salmon is half cooked, tonight he didn’t wake up until Hubs took him his share and then he ate less than half of it. :frowning:
He still seems to be having more good days than bad, but I’m afraid that is changing faster than we want.

It’s windy, but we haven’t lost power here.
It’s been rather quiet. I guess most people are staying inside.

Happy Anniversary Cookie

Can you go to the ER Boo?
If I was hurting bad I would.

Happy Farming Butters!

This showed up in my FB feed, perhaps it will give you some ideas FCM

Lots of windy sounds outside. Sleepy tihe inside.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Sleepy time here. Night all.

In my earlier whinging I forget that irk today caused me to cancel reservations for a swanky / romantic high end Italian dinner tonight at an intimate bistro near home. She’s 3 blocks from there. I’m 900 miles from there. That ain’t gonna work. Crap.

Cheers!

@LSLGuy

Had I known I would have waved too. Sorry.
