(Old) I’ve Never Done This Before in the MMP

OMG!! You have my sympathies.

Mumper!

The nurse told MIL that it’s OK to get her ears pierced. She’d had them done before and she wanted them redone. So we’re going to Claire’s tomorrow. Yeah, Claire’s. Whatevs.

I have to say I’m so glad she’s not capable of cooking for us. Tonight I made a teriyaki chicken dish and she said she thought it would be really good with a package of brown gravy mix added to it. She was serious! I’m going to chalk it up to onset dementia.

And my day is winding down. My boo-boo is starting to throb a bit, but it’s not bleeding like it did yesterday, so that’s a good sign. I’m going to prop it up in the recliner and maybe ice it for a while. I think I’ve earned some chillage.

Awww, gg must be so happy!

My koritza is barely 7 pounds and tells off lager who is twice her size. Of course, when lager can get to her, he just plops on her. That is when I have to intervene.

She did say “There are no wrong answers”!

And here’s my late afternoon contribution. Been to the gym and did get my mile and a half backstroking in, on the way home I saw something I’ve never seen before (not quite a ‘never did’, but close enough), a V-22 Osprey Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey - Wikipedia flying at about 1,000 feet and coming right at me. As I was driving I couldn’t do much gaping, but it was a nice moment for the day. Have just found out that there is a U9 Soccer “jamboree” at 6:30 tonight so dinner will be later than expected (if there are soccer players to be coached, I’ll be there). Only 80F so pretty comfortable.

AskNott, welcome and please stick around if you like the place. as for your Mumper name, the two that come to what’s left of my mind are knotty and JFK (“ask not what your country can do for you”), but others are much more talented at this than I. Hope the work looks good when finished.

Legend, sounds like the MIL is a keeper; trust your Daughter plans to keep her husband so she has her counsel… And best wishes to Mr L., hope it is something treatable. And some {{{ }}} for you.

Flyboy, was never fond of those type of ‘exercises’ that the bosses come up with. Might add “Walker” considering the mileage you put in or "Aristologist’ (Aristology is the science of cooking and dining).

JtC, good news that the felines are co-existing so well; hope it continues. And yeah, Hyenas are much more predatory than the big cats and rather more dangerous (except for leopards; don’t ever mess around with leopards…)

FCM, everything tastes better with brown gravy, thought you knew that…

OK, need to change to something more appropriate for chasing 8-year old boys around a soccer field, so take care and I’ll get back with you this evening.

NO! NONONONO!!! She is too fragile for one of those horrible guns, it would punch the stud right through her ear.

Take her to a tattoo shop, those guys are professionals and will treat her with respect. Plus they won’t rip her ears up. Just don’t let her look at the albums of the body piercing work. Trust me on this, just don’t any of you look. Some people do very odd things to their covered parts.

D’awwww.

Ya gotta have a sense of adventure.

Teriyaki = yum. Brown gravy = yum.

Yum + yum = LOTSA YUM!

(Maybe.)

I like your style.

I can absolutely concur with this advice.

Humanity be teh weirdz.

Yes. It’s an adaption of one I found online.

I’ve never started an MMP (please, nobody try to volunteer me again).

Poor Bailey. Hugs to you and skritches to her.

Hugs to the both of you.

Yay! I’m glad that they are getting along with each other.

My day began very Mondayish. First thing was a dead laptop. Seems that the manager whose office it is kept locked in failed to even close his door this weekend and some yahoo got in there and, very likely, watched enough videos to run the battery down (I use it plugged in). Then, I found that the weekend shift didn’t bring the phones that they had transferred to me and I had to go look for them. This afternoon, our senior manager, in her infinite wisdom, had Facilities bring a dozen wire racks and three file cabinets from the red tag area and crammed them in my area to get them out of sight for a tour (we’re off the tour path most of the time). It was just good to get the hell out of there today.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

After the dr. I went home and took my bp pill.
Then I bussed to Urgent Care. They were not busy at all.
They took my bp, it was still 150/80.
I then concentrated on slow breathing and picturing myself lying on the exam table about to sleep…he says, I don’t know what you did, but its now 138/80.
Going back to check tomorrow ( never skip your meds!) and stop taking my hormones because that may have contributed and I have no need to be supple since I’ve sworn off sex forever.
I don’t think 64 year old should be taking hormone replacement anyway. I had a dr once who refused to prescribe it and that was 10 years ago.

Oh yeah, dorito salad for supper and Monday night so a new episode of KillTony!

I’ll hold the other side of the equation and say that I don’t mind that kind of staffing/team building activity.

It’s so… Corporate. :grimacing:

It gets used in education, counseling, and non-profit boards, too. Not my favorite, and not one I used as a trainer, but far from he worst I’ve experienced. As always, YMMV.

Do you get up to BC much? We just had a delightful quick trip up, wirh good food, interesting shops, and well-organized public transit.

Howdy Y’all! Been home from men’s night over to the church house for a bit, but nee ded to chill a bit. 'Twas good. We ate, we drank, we laughed. As usual, we solved all the world’s problems but alas no one ever listens to us. I think it shall be sleepy time shortly.

shoe that’s Pointy Stick Wieldin’ Sri Lankan Ninja Spiders.

I read all but retention is nil, so yays, boos, hugs, noogies, trouts, chitlins, and how you doin’s all around, as needed.

I always hated meetings, as most of them were either endless bullshit, or character assassinations. When I took over as the department head of one job, I told everyone that I didn’t want any meeting to last more than ten minutes. Anything longer than that meant that someone (including me) wasn’t doing their job properly. There was almost an audible sigh of relief in the room, as the former department head would drag out staff meetings for at least an hour each week while she grilled people mercilessly.

We haven’t been up in years and years. Not really sure what to do. Been to Vancouver. We don’t pub crawl (unfortunately). We’ve talked about checking out White Rock or Surrey.

We didn’t get to the galleries in Gastown or out for a walk in Stanley Park, but did have a wonderful time in the compact dining/shopping area of Granville Island.

ETA: Neither of us especially drinks, and on Ozempic the smell of burgers nauseates me, so no pub crawls for us, either.

I happily worked 8 years with a sup who hated meetings. She used other ways to keep us all up on shit, but we only had a quarterly pot-luck/group lunch because that was required by TPTB. That boss left for greener pastures and the new boss wanted morning check-ins and weekly meetings. I quit that supervisor as soon as I could transfer.

It’s cute that you think she’ll listen to me. She got her ears done at Claire’s years ago and that’s where she intends to go. Plus it’s free if you buy earrings. Or something. She won’t listen to FCD or me and he won’t fight her. Look up stubborn in any dictionary and you’ll see her picture.

< deep cleansing breath >

I think I’ll toddle back to my bed. It’s been a day.

Happy Moonday!

Cloudy morning at the park. Only six dogs on the big side, my boys are good.
Echo went with Petey on the small side since she gets grumpy with one of the new dogs.

I don’t know what she ate today, but I’d love to shove a cork up her butt.

Especially for G.C.

Got the office partially cleaned out and sorted.

I am supposed to get a blood test.
I went last Moonday, got almost to the parking lot and realized I forgot the paperirk. I rescheduled for today, remembered the paperirk, and saw I was supposed to fast. The first morning appointment I could get is for next Moonday.

I got my handicap placard so now I am no longer parking illegally at the dog park. In the mornings now, there are more handicapped people than spaces to park in. Nobody cared if I took one, but you never know when a park person will say something. I don’t care about the distance, the handicap spots are the only flat ones.

There’s plenty of things I have never done before, but I can’t think of any of them I’d want to do now.

AFAIK, my cousin is still hanging on.
I guess it’s just a matter of time.

Up from naptime, having an Old Fashioned and cheeseburgers.

Yeah, I spent 25 years being in charge of the circus. It’s a lot less stressful just being in charge of cleaning up the poo.

To be fair, I grew up in the analog clock era, but can’t read a sundial.

Congrats on making the house home. And welcome to the MMP.

Glad GG is happy with his new queen.

I have never worked in a corporate environment. Meetings were few and far between.
