You actually gave me the idea to do it at the produce events, so thank you! I talked to our friend on the Board and she thinks it is a wonderful idea and will be looking at thrift store books too. There is a really big non-profit thrift store on the way to town that sells very nice children’s books for 10 for a dollar, unless they are on sale so I am going to get back in the habit of stopping in every time I go to town.
I’m a big fan of giving children books, but will confess that it’s pretty self-serving. It’s to my benefit to live in an educated society and if you want someone to enjoy reading, ya gotta start them young.’
Hurray! He must feel so much better today. I hope it continues.
And right before a business trip. That really sucks!
She doesn’t look quite as nervous, maybe the lava is cooling down now…
Take the longer walk, you certainly don’t want to upset your feline overlords more than they already are.
Well of course. You are spending a large amount of money on something else andit got jealous.
That wouldn’t be saying much, GG managed to close his tail in a door this morning and pulled out a lot of tail furs trying to get away.
Go you! Seriously, I’m so glad you are only stiff and sore. I hope the insurance and repairs go smoothly.
Oh, hurray, that is wonderful.
You made some really cute stuffs!
Geeze, poor thing! Is she drinking something to replace the electrolytes she’s puking out? Some nice Greek Yogurt would probably be good to have at hand.
I ate a bad chocolate bar when I was a tween. Twas horrible and I thought I would never eat another chocolate bar again for the rest of my life. I got over it.
I loved warehouse work, it’s great, you never have to talk customers. I could go weeks without talking to anyone outside of our team. Be sure to get some good shoes, those concrete floors can take it out of you really fast.
I will keep my fingers crossed that he isn’t Mr. Hyde when you have the procedure.
We went to a nice BBQ/potluck today and I’ve gotten so good at changing the subject that I astound myself. I can seamlessly segue from contrails to allergies and trump to cats.
Happily, the hostess was also my Tai-chi instructor so I always had “How come I haven’t seen you at Tai-chi” to fall back on.
I met the park caretaker and learned that he was actually a volunteer. He owns the large camp trailer he lives in and trades cleaning the restrooms and dumping the trash cans for utilities. He goes well above and beyond, treating the park like his own yard. There is never any trash and he keeps things so nice that parents feel free to let their kids run around and play without helicoptering. Now that I know he is a “volunteer” he is on our Christmas tip list. We might not use the park often ourselves, but we appreciate the benefit to the community and he deserves thanks for it.
Back when they were building the park, the American Legion wanted to put in flagpole holders for a Avenue of Flags for holidays. Hubs and I bought Dad a flag and had him come out for the groundbreaking ceremony. It was cold and windy and rainy so the speechifying was short.
There is a small signpost at the park gate discussing the flags and all of the donor names are listed. Every year when Mom came to visit, we would go and look at Dad’s name on the list.
