(Old) Late morning for the MMP

Well, got 7 good hours of sleep, have my NY Times Sunday paper for reading and puzzling and have broken fast, so the morning is starting out promising. After yesterday there is nothing on my agenda at all, maybe some housework, maybe some gym time, but nothing I have to do. 79F now heading to 95F and a 1-in-4 chance of scattered rain, so we’ll see what develops.

J-Bats, great news and hope you and Mom have a good day together at the old ball park.

BBBoo, it’s always nice when the crew at a place you frequent knows your order. The Jersey Mike’s I go to did that for quite a while, but then most of the crew moved on and they seem to change people there every 2-3 weeks, so while the sammiches remain good I have to order them by voice every time. And congrats to the Cornhuskers, they should do well at least until October, when they get Indiana and Oregon back-to-back…

Oh, I most certainly did.

Shoe, glad your doing better.

boo-fae, so sorry about the car blockage, can you get the city to tow it away if it’s still there?

swampy, happy Vergering! And I guess I could have been more..stern…about the fields being closed and no game, but yeah, 40 adults and good weather often beats logic and reasoning.

Cat Glove, I get pints of the Kroger brand and a “Lite” ice cream called Hy-Top so far, may branch out as I test my limits (yesterday was first time I finished a whole pint in one day but 1. It was on two different occasions 6-7 hours apart and 2. Only 360 calories total).

J-Bats, Zebra Dog!!

Cookie, enjoy breaking fast.

And onward into the Sunday morning. Have a good one all.

These first two paragraph were written yesterday, but apparently not posted. Sorry about that.

Shoe, when you said “solar fountain,” I wondered how you’d get sunlight to spew into the air or respond to gravity. Then you explained.

The horse name Boom Shakalaka brought back memories of Bill Murray in Stripes. That, and of course the song from, um, Sly and the Family Stone. (?)

Okay, now it’s Sunday. I’m a bit rattled. I knocked my morning pills off the counter-top. I got them all retrieved but one. Mrs. Nott helped me compare them with the next day’s batch, and added the missing pill, a small-dose aspirin. The missing one is probably under the refrigerator., and the dust bunnies are munching on it.

I just heard some New Orleans person on the radio say, “I can skate better than I can pole dance.” In context, I suppose that made sense. Standing alone, it’s a marvelously surrealistic mission statement. My grand-niece is a roller derby player, and I can imagine her wearing that on a t-shirt.

Last night’s NASCAR event was at Bristol. Joey Logano found an opening to slip past the cars scuffling for the lead, and he won. In the post-race mob, a fist fight broke out between two drivers who had been in an earlier on-track dustup. Who was at fault? I dunno. They probably showed lots of slo-mo to explain it all, but I switched it off. Angry young men in fast dangerous cars. What could go wrong?

I’ll be doing a fasting blood test on Tuesday. I hate those. Because of the Parkinson’s, I have trouble taking pills, so I take my pills with applesauce. If that messes with the blood test, well, that’s too bad.

I switched the HVAC over to heat yesterday. Today’s high outside is predicted to be 72 F. It’s raining.

Good morning.

It’s 52F, with a drippy fog. The forecast calls for morning fog/clouds and afternoon sun, with a daytime high of 71F.

Metal Mouse, that does sound like an irritating day.

BooFae, ugh, how irritating about the car blocking your drive. Is there a way to get it towed now that it’s been there overnight?

J-Bats, Bob is such a handsome fellow. I’m glad he’s been such a comfort to you and your mother.

I had an Oma and a Grandma. Oma lived in Germany, and Grandma (Dad’s side) lived here in the US.

I told my husband yesterday that we’ll give Tanaka a good rest before going back, and he agreed. He just wanted to share the place with my son, who really liked it too.

We came back from the restaurant, and Zeus gave us all a stern talking-to for leaving him, Buster, and Maisie behind. But nothing was torn up, inside or out, so he did really well.

We spent the rest of the day hanging out and were generally slothful. My son and husband gamed, and I watched the rest of the Monster Lizzie Borden series on Netflix. If I’m honest, I didn’t really like it, but it was something new to watch.

VanGo, good timing on the PTO.

We’ve offered to dog-sit Zeus this morning while my son gets a haircut and maybe makes a Costco run.

Other than that, we’ll probably just hang out here for the day. I need to do some laundry, too.

Please take care of yourselves.

First things first: happy birthday, @nelliebly! :birthday_cake:

Last week was another busy one. Non-work-related highlights included getting my car serviced on Monday afternoon (scheduled maintenance, plus a once-over; now I’m all set for Thursday’s drive to upstate NY), and having my annual mammogram on Friday morning. Not my favorite preventive medicine procedure, but I’ll take a mammogram over a Pap smear any day.

I was online yesterday morning, but didn’t post because by the time I was ready to start drafting something I had to go meet my BFFs for an early lunch: my 55th birthday is tomorrow, and they took me out for one of my favorite restaurant meals (sautéed filet mignon tips tossed in a tangy tequila-lime cream sauce with fresh vegetables, served over penne pasta). I thought they might get me a Lego gift card as a birthday present, but they did orders of magnitude better and got me a massive, retired tree house set:

Not only is it rare and huge and beautiful, but “tree house” is the nickname I gave my current place while I was rental-hunting four months ago (because “tree” is in my street’s name). :two_hearts: I started building it when I got home. At 3000+ pieces, this one will take a while.

The restaurant is in a shopping center that has some great stores, and after lunch we went to a couple of them. I bought a pair of shoes at one place, and some much-needed work clothes at another. Then the BFFs and I parted ways, and I went to the close-to-home “good” car wash for the first time in a while: there’s an “acceptable” car wash even closer that I use for quick exterior washes a few times a year, but at the good one they’ll also clean the interior and I hadn’t had that done in ages. It’s rainy today and will be rainy most of the week, but I have a garage at home and I park in the garage at work: hopefully the exterior will still be mostly clean for my drive north[1]. The last stop before home was CVS, to pick up a prescription. All in all, it was a great day!

I’ll be having another early birthday lunch today: my dad and brother are coming down from Maryland this afternoon. We’re meeting here so they can see the new house, then I’ll drive us to lunch – a local diner-type place with “meh” food; Dad’s a super picky eater so I let him choose – in Dad’s SUV because my coupe is too low for him to comfortably get in/out of anymore. It won’t be as fun as yesterday, but should be alright. We haven’t gotten together since Father’s Day, plus it’ll be nice to show off the townhouse. Dad’s 78th birthday is in three weeks but I think all of us are busy in October, so we might not see each other again until Christmas. A few times a year is perfect for us.

Usually I do laundry on Sunday evenings, but I did it last night: by the time lunch with my dad/bro is done, I’ll just want to do some Lego building and then chill for the rest of the night. Tomorrow will be both an early and a long day, and I have to go to the office because the “long” part is an all-day classified meeting…which repeats every day this week. Anyway, the washer actually completed a full “normal” cycle (woo hoo)! The load included the clothes I bought yesterday, plus some new Life Is Good t-shirts that had been delivered earlier in the week: I like their solid-color “crusher” and “crusher lite” shirts, and am going from XL to L. :tada:

Time for replies and then a tiny bit of work/prep for tomorrow, before I move downstairs to build Lego until my dad and bro arrive (in three hours). I’ve only read posts from the past ~48 hours, so I hope I haven’t missed anything significant from y’all!

My blood sugar spiked just looking at that picture!

Hmmm, good to know that you like them…are they smaller than the small Marie Callender’s chicken pot pies?

That is so cool!

:tada: :people_hugging: :crossed_fingers: :tada:

I went to small Catholic college in PA that had no football (or other NCAA) team, so I likewise don’t have any stake in college sports. At most, I’ll root for Villanova basketball if I’m out someplace where a game is on: they were nearby, and in fact bought the campus after my college closed two years ago.

I hope you liked it…I can’t wait for that one to come to streaming!

(But you can definitely tell me if you didn’t like it: by the time I can rent/watch it, I’ll have forgotten.)

That sounds wonderful! Yay!

I think I would have had Teh Towtruck! :joy:

What a cool picture. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I love that movie! Every now and then, when I’m mildly annoyed that something minor hasn’t gone my way, I sing the same few lines from “Big Ole Brew” that Murray sings at the beginning of it. (“One of these days, everything that I want’s gonna be mine…”)

  1. Absolutely no one else ever notices or cares, but on long drives I like to feel that my car looks good! ↩︎

You asked.

Kid tested (me)

Counting: 1 when breathe in, 2 when breathe out

Each morning before getting out of bed:

  • Pull one knee up to chest and count to 20. Then other knee.
  • Pull both knees to chest and count to 20.
  • Lift both legs straight and count to 20. (This I cannot do.)
  • Put arm straight up and across chest, count to 20. Then the other arm. (Video with someone else doing the pushing)
  • Put both arms above the head and count to 20.

Out of bed:

  • Bend down and touch (or reach towards) left toes with right hand.
  • Do other side. Repeat.
  • Bend forward and touch (or reach towards) toes.

I asked about “lift both legs straight”, and was told this is about 30 degrees. Went looking for a picture and found this link. The picture at the top close enough.

Evidently my paternal grandfather, when he was in his 20s/30s, could stand on a step, and keeping his knees straight, could touch the step below with the palms of his hands.

I’ve been watching Dr Thorne on Prime - the book was adapted by Julian Fellowes and it’s pretty good. At least I’m enjoying it - can’t promise anyone else will.

I’ve been to Aldi - successfully avoiding the crowds. Along with the couple of things I needed, I was thrilled to see that they’ve got my favorite frozen green beans back in stock, so I got 2 bags. But they haven’t had the pretzel rods that we like - out of stock for close to 3 weeks now, dammit! We make do with the mini twists.

I finally pulled the sewing machine out and mended my insulated shopping bag. It had come apart at one end of the zipper, so I reassembled it. White thread on purple bag - wonder if anyone will notice? As if I care…

I’ve decided against weeding - it’s a little warm and a lot muggy out. I do need to tidy the basement -forgot to get Roxy to put her stuff away last time she was here. My fault. But it might take all of 5 minutes, so no biggie. Beyond that, I’m not sure what I’ll do. Maybe crochet? Maybe pull out my guitar? Stay tuned for further developments…

Good morning. I fell asleep watching TV last night, so I think I’m still tired from Thursday night’s craptastic attempt at sleeping in the car.

I made eggs in a basket for me and eggs over easy for Mrs Magill along with some bacon. There might be some bacon left for Squeaky if he’s lucky.

That looks like a fun build. Where do you get retired sets like that? Asking for a friend.

If you like roadrunner cartoons, you’ll like it. I like that Bugs is only a cameo appearance. They also pulled out a lot of classic characters, like Gossamer and the Evil Scientist (who has a name!)

I have very tight hamstrings, but I find if I put a yoga block under my sacrum, I can lift my legs straight. The waterfall pose is a good stress reduction pose.

My lumbar discs herniated just reading that.

Ah man! I want those pumpkin tops and candy corn. I know I should eat either of them (artificial color sensitivity, sugar level going through the roof), but I still want. Luckily they are not easy to get here (unluckily, I know how to get them…) Hope Sprinkles enjoyed them.

Thanks for sharing the swagger. So cute!

Wow. I’m glad you’re getting all these neat Lego sets - you do all the work and then we get pictures! (Still have to do the Tardis Lego set that sitting underneath the coffee espresso table - saving it for bad weather).

Had a very busy weekend. Yesterday I got my hair cut, signed up for a one year membership at a new gym (next Sunday I have the introductory meeting), went to three different grocery stores, made two batches of ice cream mix - but only made one batch yesterday, the other one I made this afternoon, made lunch, talked to my parents and then made the list for today’s doings.

Today was oatmeal for breakfast, 1.5 hour walk, made lunch, then voted (email, plus scan and send originals to NJ), submitted paperwork to health insurance, a bit of garden work, and now watering the side yard - front yard’s already done. Hubby did 5 loads of laundry. And I cleaned the bathroom sinks. I need a 3 day weekend.

The only people who can get someone else’s vehicle towed over here in the Yoo Kay are normally the police, who will only do it if a car is actually blocking a road or blocking someone in, and then only if that’s causing a major issue, or the council, who don’t like faffing around with that, generally just give 'em a fine instead, and they generally aren’t fussed about coming at all on a Sunday.
Towing a car is treated as a pretty serious thing to do this side of the pond, while blocking an empty driveway isn’t.

I just went walkies round the local area instead of going off somewhere else. There’s a park with woodland and a stream wi birdies an things, which is nice, except we have a major issue with rubbish, which gets pretty depressing sometimes. We have something almost like a HOA here, from when the estate was built- they maintain the common areas, rather 'n the local council, and we have to pay a fee [1]. This officially covers litter picking, although they always seem a lot more keen on cutting grass on ride-on mowers than ever bothering with stuff like picking up litter first. I think some of the residents have just decided that they’re paying for someone else to tidy up after them, so why shouldn’t they just dump stuff wherever?

  1. which I was not told about when I bought the house, but that’s another issue ↩︎

Saw this when I returned from mass and so I made one for myself. Except that the only bagel I have is a blueberry bagel and I prefer to eat it with Philly cream cheese on it and sometimes a few fresh blueberries. So, I used an English muffin instead, no not one of my cinnamon raisin English muffins, I used Hubs original plain English muffin; also I put muenster cheese on it as well. Delicious. Thanks for the suggestion.

No, I watch it on CBC

swampy conga-rats to UGA; however, that means that Hubs’ roommate from the summer that I met Hubs will be cranky today. He’s an Arkansas boy. He came to Michigan State because he was a National Merit Scholar and got a full free ride at MSU. When he graduated, he scurried back to riceland and has stayed there ever since.

boofae that was most incredibly rude of the person who blocked the entrance to your driveway and worse that they didn’t retrieve their car after their night out! Hope nothing serious happened to them.

are you sure that’s not a zebra? :slightly_smiling_face:

me too. I’ve previously mentioned that I saw them in August 1974; we were dancing in the seats.
As far as pill identification, this is why one of the columns on Hubs medication excel spreadsheet has not only the name and strength but also a description of color, shape and any marking thereon e.g. Metoprolol Tartrate 25mg tabs (white, round, R 25)

Oopsie how nice of you to remember and give us a headsup!
Also, Happy Pre-Birthday. This makes sense why you remember nellie’s BD. Love your favorite lunch! And WOW, what a great gift; will give you hours, nay days, of stress-free joy.

Happy Birthday dear nellie!!! :birthday_cake:  :heart_with_ribbon:

this made me think of Gilded Age and wonder when the heck the fourth season will premiere so I googled; DEADLINE said: “The Gilded Age Season 4 will grace viewers with its presence ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. The eight-episode fourth installment … will debut Sunday, November 1 on HBO at 9pm ET and PT.”

omgosh, omgosh, omgosh, I’m actually caught up :tada:

I need to go wash a load of delicates, I put several items to soak earlier, will do as soon as I finish this missive. Should put away the dishes that Hubs washed last night.

I hear him stirring now; he doesn’t have to go to mass today as he went yesterday afternoon. He was supposed to go golfing with a former neighbor today but he called and said he tested positive for COVID so that’s off. Even though Hubs is close to being in the clear, I’m still going to be wearing a mask when around others that I can’t safely distance from. Haven’t been sick in 6-1/2 yrs and don’t want to get sick, particularly with COVID.

I’m thinking about going to the Fitness Center then into the Admin office there to scan the documents that didn’t scan on Friday and also use their hole puncher on some recipes that I want to put into a binder.

Originally daughter was going to come over to help me measure and go buy some new blinds but I cancelled yesterday for a number of reasons, one of which is that it’s been overcast and raining for 6 of the last 8 days including today and is supposed to continue for 3 more days. We needed the rain but enough is enough. Also yesterday was my Mom’s earthly birthday, she would have been 100 years old. She passed 11 years ago. So, I’m just feeling a bit moody.

Happy Sunday. Blessings to all.

Quick morning check-in:

Nice 'n cool morning, 49Ferrets with a forecast high today of 79F. Currently overcast and foggy. Lovely!

Happy birthday, nellie! I hope it brings a good year for you.

shoe, I meant to say last night that Monkey is made for the catwalk. In all its definitions.

Glad Long/Late Night wasn’t too horrible!

Enjoy the walk, Nut, best you can in the wind! Love the New Orleans out-of-context comment! Good luck with the fasting blood test. And sorry about the slob neighbors.

BooFae, I’d have been “Grrrrr” too. I hope the offending vehicle is moved soon.

swampy, take extra care of yourself today with no naps! Sounds pretty dangerous to me!

j-bats, thanks for posting the Bob piccie. He’s such a handsome fellow and he really does appear to have the most calming demeanor, despite being a jailbird. I’m glad he’s helping you and your mom through a most difficult time.

Enjoy the B&G, cookie!

Hope your day of unlimited choices is a pleasant one, metal mouse. Above all, stay cool!

Taters, I figured that’s why your hubs wanted to go back to Tanaka yet again, but I’m glad you’re done with the place for awhile. Awesome doggie behavior in your absence, too! Kudos to all 3 pups! Enjoy a quiet day.

Happy early birthday to you, Oopsie! I hope you enjoy the tree house puzzle, as well as lunch with your dad.

dicey, that looks like a good morning stretch routine. Thanks for sharing it. And my goodness, you’ve been busy! Well done on voting.

Knots, I am always unsettled when I drop pills, too, which I seem to do distressingly often. I worry about what a dose of aspirin or thyroid hormone could do to a 15-lb. dachshund, who will find that pill faster than a heat-seeking missile. He’s got a nose that can – and does – dig things out from under a fridge, too.

Good luck with the guitar, FCM. I look forward to getting mine back, but it won’t be ready till mid October, I think.

Hope your melancholy passes soon, Cat Glove. And I don’t blame you for taking precautions against getting sick. I’m right there with you. And we’ll look forward to the new season of the Gilded Age together.

Too soon to think about breakfast, but it will probably be a bog standard ham 'n eggs affair with an English muffin and a banana. I can’t usually think about food before 11:00 a.m. I’m off shortly to pick the last of the blackberries for me and another bunch of apples for friends. I think I’ll make another small batch of jam so I have some to take to my folks when I visit them soon.

Apart from these small tasks and some routine tidying, I don’t have any claims on my time today. Which is rather marvelous.

Have fabulous days, everyone!

I don’t have both to compare package weight, but yes, they seem a bit smaller than Marie C.

Deep breath! You are loved.

I was just listening to a sleep story centered around a giant magical tree.

Thank you kindly!

Typo, or Freudian slip?

I’m sure she was a wonderful lady, to have raised such a lovely daughter. :people_hugging:

Like all cats, he knows it.

Happy birthday @nelliebly hope it’s a great day! Sending you buttercream-frosted vibes.

Okay, imma loll around for a while - maybe try out those in-bed stretches - then head back in. For once, I don’t close on a Sunday, which is unusual but not unwelcome (though my paycheck gonna be sparse).

The rather full bin is already at the curb - I was taking no chances on forgetting.

We must’ve gotten a bit of rain again; the road is just wet enough that passing cars make that soothing “whooosh” sound (when their @#$% bass isn’t turned up to 11) and in between, there’s a light wind rustling in the tops of the oaks.

Monkey is sacked out on a stack of blankets in the closet. Think I’ll emulate him for a bit. All y’all have yourselves a good day.

I know you didnt ask but you need to know that if you do that you might want to just skip the test because it wont be accurate (I hate them too, no black coffee first thing when I crawl out of bed).

With skewed results you could end up getting treated for a condition you dont really have, further complicating your life.

Call your provider who ordered the test and find out if there is any other way to do the testing because of your need to take your crucial Parkinson’s meds with applesauce.

You could also ask the pharmacist who provides those meds if they can advise you on a way around the problem. This is exactly why they go to school for 7 years, it’s not to just count pills. They might suggest something like getting a family member or friend to accompany you because being without those Parkinson’s meds will make doing it harder and unpleasant but bring the med and applesauce with you and take it the second the blood draw needle leaves your arm.

I don’t mean to brag but I think my church must be doing something right. When I was driving up the whole crew of the Westboro Baptist Church was across the street with their signs!

Noontime here and I’m just about caught up with my internettin’, so think I’ll combine working on the treadmill with watching tackleball (they have TV’s built into the treadmills) for a couple of hours and then maybe spend more time in the whirlpool and sauna and make an afternoon of it. It’s 91F outside so am in no rush to do anything today out there.

Knots, lost a few pills down the sink before I started making sure the drain was closed first. And I haven’t been on roller skates in 50 years, but probably would have better luck with in than pole-dancing.

Happy Birthday Nellie!!!

And early Happy Birthday wishes to you, Oopsie. And you do have some of the finest BFF’s I’ve ever encountered.

FCM, go for the guitar!

Dicey, enjoy the new gym. And sounds like you had an ambitious weekend; I can do one day in a row like that but then more goof-off the following day.

Nut, thanks for the info, I guess boo fae is on her own. Sorry you have the litter problem, we’re pretty good with it here, but sometimes the soccer fields need policing after the games.

BBBoo, sage advice.

Cupcakes, that’s notoriety that is worth it’s weight in gold.

And it’s afternoon now, so need to pack up the gym bag and head on out. Take care all.

Hey everyone. I have been reading but my hands have been full of needle and thread. The night before my surgery, I worked on my project until bedtime. I wanted to make some progress with the class and stitching settles my mind.

I miscounted in the second section, part two.

Yesterday morning, I was doing the third part of the third section when I realized something was wrong. An hour later I had it figured out and then spent three hours frogging everything. Currently I’m working part three, section two again. Sigh.

I did find a couple of documentaries to enjoy, The Mothman of Point Pleasant and The Flatwoods Monster. I didn’t learn anything else about the Monsters themselves, but I really enjoyed listening to the interviews and looking at the old vids.

For the record, I don’t think that the Monsters were birds as is the prevailing theory. I don’t really have any idea as to what they were, but the witnesses were all locals. They lived there their entire lives. This was pre-internet, they actually spent time outside and hiking in the forest, they knew what owls looked like and what herons looked like.

I’m not that familiar with the wildlife here, I could make that mistake but I’m a yankee who would never mistake a roadrunner in a tree as anything but a roadrunner in a tree. (Roadrunners can fly and they can hold onto tree branches if needed. They just don’t do it very often, most of their food is on the ground.)

So it is still overcast, but is warming up. According to the weather guessers, we are in a cooling trend which will be good for the apple butter festival next weekend. I’m hearing Point Pleasant is getting hammered with rain which is kinda sad. Its the Mothman festival and lots of tourists are learning about WV mud.

I’m heading off to the capital in an hour and would rather not stand in rain either. I don’t have my new wimple yet and my old one sags when its wet.

I just know that everything on my walls will be sold for the frames and it makes me sad. Not sad enough to actually try to do anything before I’m ded, just a little wistful about all the time and money that will end up in the trash.

Bob is always so very handsome, what a good boy!

Horrors! How will you ever do it? (When I’m planning out a day-trip, I always allow time to park under a tree for an hour while he gets a nap. I can’t nap, so I just smoke and stitch and both of us can catch our breath that way.)

I am grrrring with you and would leave a strongly worded note on their windshield. How thoughtless!

It was always windy in AZ. Always. Hated it, I did. I hope it dies down for you before dark.

You have my sympathy. I’m so happy I didn’t have to drag my sorry butt out of the house for the duration, I was really insecure when I was more than ten feet away from the terlet for a while.

Go you! We’ve always planned around school vacations, thinking those were good times to stay home and do yard work instead.

A few months ago, we went to a large mining museum during the week. When we got there, there were THREE school busses full of older grade school kids and we didn’t even get out of the car. We went off to get mexican and margaritas and when we got back the kids had cleared out.

All of the workers and docents looked very shell shocked, school tours usually warn them in advance, but that didn’t happen that day so they were very short staffed for the amount of chaos.

Mental image of shoe making like a shoe in the bottom of the closet…

I went to my studio instead and I managed (with help from my sweetie) to open all containers of glaze and underglaze. I added hot water and left them to reconstitute themselves. After a while, I’ll go back and try to blend them till they’re smooth. I had no idea I had so much.

I was going to work on some clay, too, but it’s got to absorb more water before I can mooosh it properly. I should probably cut the hunks into smaller pieces. Maybe I’ll do that in a bit.

There are a lot of MIL’s cross stitch works here and unless Daughter wants them, they’ll go to the thrift store, or worse. She did beautiful work, but everything has a country theme, and I’m not a country-theme person. I’ve got duck and chicken statues in the basement that were hers and were in the living room till I hauled them downstairs. FCD wanted to keep them but I’m pretty sure he didn’t notice that I moved them.

I don’t mean to be cold, but I don’t want our house to become a shrine to his parents. There are a few photos, along with some of my parents and other family members. But the gallery his mom had would overwhelm the place. I stacked them against the wall in the guest room, and FCD hasn’t even noticed. I wish he’d part with the grandfather clock his dad built. It’s damaged and it hasn’t run in years. But it’s in the living room looking very out of place.

[end whine]

I think it’s time for a few more tablet games before I go downstairs again and try stirring the glazes. I thought hobbies were supposed to be relaxing??

No, but I did absolutely conk back out to the sound of the whooshing wind. So soothing.

Now chillin’ in the lobby.

We were all set up to open with fifteen whole minutes to spare  I have 1/2 slice marble cake, and a container of honey-sesame snax, so I’m set for sustenance.

Okay, time to start things up. Y’all have a good afternoon!

The delicates got laundered and hung up to dry. It was a good thing I soaked those couple shirts first as it helped get the stains totally out.

I didn’t go to the Fitness Center. Hubs was going to go to Lowe’s so I went along with. He bought grass seed, a filter for the furnace and deer/rabbit repellent. We’ve never had deer around this block and the bunnies don’t bother our garden; it’s those gosh darn squirrels. Hubs gets quite annoyed with them filching tomatoes. I went to check out cordless blinds. I wrote down sizes in stock and the related prices and noticed that if you buy 10, they’re about $4 each cheaper which would make a $40 savings. Then we stopped by BF’s and picked up a dozen and a half eggs as Hubs let me know there were only 2 left after he made breakfast.

Made a BLT when I got home, had a slice of pumpkin pie and 8 Reese’s dark chocolate miniature cups. Should go work out on the NuStep now but I really need to stitch the old English D on Bella’s jersey for tomorrow. It’s Bark in the Park at the Tigers game. Perhaps I’ll work out on the NuStep and watch the 2nd half of the Indiana Fever vs Washington Mystics game then do the sewing.

Thanks shoe. Yes, my Mom was a very special person. First if you looked in the dictionary under Unconditional Love, there would be a picture of Mom as she was the definition. She was very smart, valedictorian of her HS class but very humble. She was a very hard worker raising 4 children, taking care of all finances and all the housework (except for washing dishes; that fell to me which is why I rarely do it now). She volunteered at the HS when my baby sister went there and after the nest was empty, she volunteered frequently at the Senior Center. She was honored as Senior Volunteer of the Year in our City. She always had a good word to say to everyone she interacted with.
