Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 74 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 90 and sunny. The big item on today’s agenda is to procure provisions. Shrimpies will be procured as tonight’s sup will be shrimpies 'n grits and roasted spare guts. Simple but nummy! There will be high RDOS sloth today as well.
Nellie no shame in not answerin’ nephew’s call. There are times you need to save your strength.
doggio you could buck the trend and not make deer puns.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I should purtify and don attire acceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed.
Mrs Magill usually starts around July, too. In her defense, my sister once told our mother, “Have you noticed Maus’s gift giving game improved greatly since he married Mrs Magill?”
Keeping things brief, I’m back in the horsepistol. They’re trying to figure out how to fix me, but it can’t happen fast enough for me. Have read most, retained some and wishing everyone trouts, noogies, etc!
It’s pleasantly sunny out there today, with rain due in the evening. Laundry is on the line and I just popped out to the shops in my lunch break.
Apparently I’m going part squirrel at the moment; I’ve been stocking up on absolutely everything. Not sure if it’s autumn triggering something in my northern peasant ancestry, my brain melting from the thesis writing or just the general state of the world.
I’ll add sorting out the cupboards to The List of things to do in the days after I hit ‘submit’.
The Christmas stuff in the local supermarkets started going out mid-August. I do not understand who needs Christmas food that will go bad before Christmas, despite being part squirrel. If I was boss of the world, it would be banned to sell Christmas-themed stuff before November, with one small exception for craft shops, because OK you might actually need a couple of months to make something elaborate.
Good morning all. Big bowl of Frosted Flakes has been consumed and the dishwasher is dishwashering, so I’ll shortly leave on my Braunschweiger run and also pay my property taxes on the way home, so the morning hours are spoken for. Have to get the garbage and recycle bins to the curb tonight, fortunately this is my ‘no soccer’ night so not a rush. The weather hasn’t changed, 80F at 8am heading to 94F, I’ll be so happy to see highs in the 70’s again…
And who am I to buck the trend…which reminds me, I need to stop at the bank for a little doe…
swampy, happy provisioning.
{{{{red}}}}. Take care, hope the fix takes this time.
Nut, my stockup time is either the end of the month or the start of it, haven’t picked up a big overage of stuff (outside of Pepsi 12-packs, have 6-7 in the house right now). And I would support your ‘No Xmas before November’ crusade.
Knots, no big chances of rain here until next Moanday, and highs from 85-95F every day to the end of the month…bah.
And time to get dressed and head out for the shopping and paying taxes excursion. Catch y’all later.
I shop all year and then ship in November. Or, I used to. The USPS has really ticked me off lately with their decisions about mail in ballets so my plan this year is to just have everything drop-shipped to the recipients. Its mostly consumables anyhow.
Of course, I’ll probably change my mind after I start baking, but you never know.
I give them credit for trying at least. Keeping up with kids that age isn’t easy, you volunteers are special folks!
That’s at least a week’s worth of troubles in just an afternoon. I do hope things calm down for you and for your daughter.
I guess I kinda assumed that when the partners were both girls, they would have equal laundry habits. I guess I was wrong!
I waved at some point during the day!
I’m glad your travels are going well and hope you got decent sleep at the motel.
No chocolate involved! You can buy commercially made squirrel bark, but Harry’s GDIL makes their own with forest nuts. Acorns, hickory and pine-nuts are the prime ingredients but she also uses dried fruit for the sweet.
Did you know that flying squirrels will bark at you if they feel threatened? Its the cutest thing ever, but also tells us to back up, there are probably babies around.
This really sucks, I hope you get some results soon, I know you want to be home with your pupper.
It’s 50F, dark, with a little fog. Today is supposed to be bright and sunny, with a daytime high of 77F.
Red, I’m sorry to see you’re hospitalized again. I hope they can figure out what is going on. Sending all the healing vibes to you.
Nellie, I hope you got a good night’s rest and that today is much better for you. I hope poor ol’ Charlie heals up nicely, too.
Today is Mr. Tater’s birthday, so he wants to go to Tanaka for lunch and is really excited. I mean, I like it and all, but I don’t want to burn out on the place, either. After lunch, I need to drop him off and run a couple of errands.
His present will be the newest VR gaming headset from Valve/Steam. He’ll get it either through a randomized lottery or he’ll have to wait until more are on the market.
Not much else is going on around here. Since abundant sunshine is anticipated, I’ll need to water the posies. Dagnabbit, I wish it would cool down enough to get a good frost going. Unfortunately, I think I’ll be dealing with posies until well into October, maybe even early November.
For now, I need some more coffee, and then I can get the day fully started.
Life is fairly good in no. Illinois. The heat has finally broken. Highs in the 70s. Rode Jake yesterday because I was too lazy to waddle to the pasture for my own horse. Today’s agenda includes a massage. That’s the only thing on the agenda. And I lost a couple pounds prob ably from NOT eating junk fuds.
They were sending people home when I got to work at 0345. Volume did seem a little light. Dunno if it was weather/traffic delays, or boom today. I was out by 0930. My shower was briefly delayed because someone decided to drape his chunky thorax across the bathroom door jamb. I’m having my dry, flavorless bits(with milk and cranberries), and Spot is having his(dry, no fruit).
I don’t have the hart to stop.
That’s crazy talk. Let’s enjoy some non triple digits temps first.
Thanks for getting back to me. I tried googling ‘squirrel bark’ but all I got back was either descriptions if their warning sound to other squirrels or much worse, recipes for cooking the little beasties.
It would be fun to make Harry’s GDIL some human ‘squirrel bark’ to thank her for her kindness. Chocolate and forest nuts that humans like, walnuts, pecans, maybe even black walnuts if they can be gathered there and dried cranberry bits. Or perhaps that is just my squirrel brain today.
OK, time to come clean. You’re sweet on one of the orderlies, aren’t you? Any excuse…
Seriously, hope you can get back to whatever passes for normal for you. SIL had something done this morning (I forgot what Daughter told me) But it turns out that the source of his many chest pains is most likely GERD! Of all things!! He’s been taking OTC antacids and apparently things are improving. So yay!
The kids were totally crashed out by 9:30 last night and slept thru. I’m sure the Benedryl helped, tho it was given for other-than-sleep reasons. Tobias was up shortly after 6:30, so he and I breakfasted together till 7 when it was time to wake Roxy. Today is Crazy Hair Day at Tobias’ school.
When I dropped him off, I didn’t see any other kids doing crazy hair. But his teachers thought his was great.
I got both kids off, then went to the boat to finish (I hope) the Cetol work. Then a detour on the way home to get some sodas on sale at Food Lion. Once back, I made lunch for my sweetie and me. And now, dunno. I had a pretty good sleep, but I still feel kinda draggy.
I scored a small < snerk > butt < snerk > at Food Lion for $1.29/lb. It’s in the big crock pot with BBQ sauce and onions and some garlic powder. Once it’s all cooked, it’ll become multiple bags of pulled poke. I think that’s all the excitement I can take.
Howdy all. Braunschweiger is stocked up until the end of October, Property tax has been paid, and the dishwasher should be done cleaning and sanitizing itself in the next 15 minutes or so. Probably do a little gym work, might even take my swimsuit along and see if they have the heat control in the whirlpool working yet. Otherwise it will be avoiding the outdoors (88F right now outside).
Taters, happy birthday to the Mr., I try to spread my Sunday dinners out among 6-7 places along with a ‘special’ Sunday (Usually Krispy Kreme or 5 Guys) so I don’t get too committed to one place.
Wet one, enjoy the cooling.
Oh, I agree, just like most youth refs they are a little intimidated by being ‘in charge’ and calling fouls and stuff just like grown-up refs. A few games and some mentoring and they’ll either be fine or lose interest.
FCM, nice hairdo, kinda wish I had enough hair to do something like that (which reminds me, need to order the hair paint so the soccer kids can paint my beard at the end of the season). Happy Butt Cooking!
And heading toward noon, so will probably get myself over to the gym in a little bit. Have a good day.
Exercised and puzzled. We harvested our leeks. Most of them are pretty small, but that means they should be fairly sweet. I’ll cut them up this afternoon and make potato-leek soup.
