(Old) Motion To Vacat(ion)- An Off Work MMP

JtC - I’m hoping they give him significant pain meds. OTC generally doesn’t do much for him. Still, I’m glad he listened to me about going.

Chillage continues.

Well dang. I was hoping his back wasn’t already yelling. In that case, I hope they give him the good stuff and tell him he has to rest for two weeks.

Having an Old Fashioned while the burgers and fried cook. Got the Olympics on.

Let me guess, he wasn’t gonna go at first.

He needs some weed, nip, and beer.

“We got a metric buttload of stuff.”

She takes all of the nip! :open_mouth: And then she scratches on his cardboard scratch pad. :astonished: And then she rubs her face all over it. :confounded: He glares at her until she vacates and then runs right over to occupy his rightful place. And try to get a sniff of catnip.

Of course he was, but first he needed to deal with the tow truck and then he needed to deal with the insurance and then it was time to eat and then he had to…

I’m married to one of them. I know how it goes. :rage:

It’s doing as well as can be expected, given the conditions! It’s growing, but its leaves curl up as soon as they mature. I was afraid I was underwatering, but then I read that curling leaves can also be a sign of overwatering. Then I looked around, realized that I planted a bare-root tree in the middle of a desert with triple-digit heat and barely double-digit humidity, and figured if it’s still putting out new growth, I’m ahead.

Monday is the slow day, and I know they had Hazardous Ken covering the Mez, so no SOS. Yet.

I’ll have to inventory devices. I reconciled inventory for the company for 16 years, so my boss knows I can count without taking off my shoes.

Ohhhh, even better. You get to match serial numbers against your list. I am super jealous!!!

Happy Moonday!

Took the dogs to daycare today, and Echo got her belated birthday cake.
We debated going today as Misiu had Shar Pei Fever yesterday. Unfortunately, my son put their harnesses on and all three were dancing around ready to go. Misiu was dancing a bit slower.
I didn’t get a call so I assume he was good all day. He’s been pretty tired since we got home.

My son is on vacation this week. I’ll be irking.
He hasn’t done much but sleep since he’s been off.
I know he’s been super tired because the other morning he was so sound asleep in the truck that he didn’t yell at me for forgetting to roll up the windows when we went past the dairy farm. Some days it’s enough to make your nose burn. It doesn’t bother me, it only lasts a minute or so, but he can’t handle it.
They have this big tank, that is mostly in the ground. There’s a pipe that runs, I guess from the barn, to the tank that deposits all the manure into the tank. The manure just sits there, baking in the sun, soaking up the rain, whatever, no lid on the tank. Then in the spring, when the tank is full, the sludge is sucked up into a truck, looks like a smaller milk truck, and is sprayed out into the fields.
Some days that tank is pretty ripe.

Anyway, if my son’s sensitive nose could sleep through that, he is pretty damned tired.

I’m glad that FCD and MusicMan are okay, even if the vehicles aren’t.

Happy HIking Taters.
Nature is good for what ails you.

Congrats on the successful fund raiser BooFae

FCM, I wouldn’t know what to say to MIL either.
Passing at home in your sleep isn’t the worst way to go, but I guess you can’t say that out loud.

I got out some ground beef for dinner. I didn’t know what to do with it. Make taco meat and have a taco salad? Ground beef & broccoli? Cheeseburger? Mrs. L.A. said, ‘Taco salad sounds good.’ So I went to the corner market for some lettuce, tomatoes, and ‘farmer-style’ four-cheese ‘Mexican’ cheese. Of course, Mrs. L.A. had plain white rice. But I had a taco salad with ground beef taco meat, tomatoes, avocado, cheese, jalapeños, and blue cheese dressing.

It was good.

Evening all. Spent a couple hours at the soccer fields, mostly helping coach the Under-19 boys (and boy do they need coaching, lots of work to do this fall). Then Mickey D’s provided the repast and finished off the evening with some Mott’s applesauce, they have them in small little containers (18 to a box) so two in an evening make a pretty good finish to the day. Will be heading off to bed here shortly.

70 messages for a Moanday; that’s pretty good.

Sari, I can remember driving (or riding) in my parents car during the planting season and having my nose assaulted like that, I imagine being near that dairy farm would be a bit…odoriferous…

Coppertone, I agree with Legend, the less said the better, just thank them and dive right into the interview.

And it’s 10:30 in the PM, so off to bed I go, to read some until sleep comes upon me. Catch y’all tomorrow.

Morning, mumpers! It’s 17c/63f with a predicted high of 21c/69f, and partly cloudy. Weather app says “Today’s fucking forecast: sunrise, sunset, and some fucking bullshit in the middle of the day”. We had some small amount of precipitation overnight, but no riots so that’s a win in my book.

Bad enough to be hit in the first place, but good news that the trooper saw it all and can prove it was the other driver’s fault. I’m fairly certain that level of damage to a car over here would instantly be a write-off. I hope FCD isn’t too sore this morning.

Very much so - I hope the doc can help you.

Ouchie! I don’t blame you not wanting to drive any distance to a garage. Towing and rental sounds like a much better option.

That’s very good news for Q’itih, although sounds like you had some entertainment trying to get her out of her predicament!

I can’t take the credit for any of it  The pub does all the organising as far as entertainment and food/drinks is concerned. We turn up with a car full of our stuff - one gazebo with waterproof coverings, folding tables, flyers, banners and suchlike advertising who we are, and a gazillion bags of tombola prizes. We run two tombolas, one adult version (prizes include alcohol, toiletries, candles, and whatever else we have) and a kid’s one with teddies and soft toys. It takes four people to set up the gazebo so when we came to pack up, we needed to borrow one of the bar staff to be the fourth person!

Also, fingers crossed for Mr L and the scan.

I should think you’d need a stiff drink after that many near-misses!

My route to the supermarket takes us past a small sewage treatment facility. Dubbed “the poo farm”. Always makes 'im indoors roll the window back up, luckily he can’t control my side of the car and I’m far less bothered by it because we’re past it in a minute or so.

Last night I hauled the biiiiiig recycling bin out to the pavement for collection and it’s a good thing I did, because the binmen were here before 8am while I was busy doing other things. They have emptied my bin and seem satisfied with the contents of number 6’s bin since they emptied that as well. No bin for number 4, but we think they’re away because the cars haven’t moved, and there’s been no sign or sound of the dog.

Nothing exciting in my day today, I’ve put some dye on my hair and rinsed that off so once I’ve posted this, I’ll go and dry it properly. Got some irk stuff to do that needs concentration, so that will also need more tea before I get started on that particular project. I might nip out at lunchtime to get some cat litter from the pet store, and later we’re off grocery shopping. When I log out of work later, I’ll have to make campus food for the rest of the week too.

Oh well, better get on, I suppose…

That forecast pretty much describes life!
Its gonna rain here ( boo) and I will be up and off to interview at 8.
I think my antibiotic was what was affecting me yesterday morn.
Halfway through so…
See you when the hot orb is out!:sun_with_face:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 74 Amurrkin out and mostly cloudy with a predicted high of 89 and partly N.O.S. for the day. ‘Tis laundry day and I can hardly contain myself. RDOS inactivities shall take up the rest of the day. Little Debbie was a non-event here, but she is wreakin’ havoc up the east coast. Sup shall be chikin enchiladas, refried beans, and Mexican rice. Fartfest to follow.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

He’s definitely hurting. Whether he rolls over in bed or has to cough, I hear the moans of pain. He has an appointment at Urgent Care in a bit over an hour.

Today I have to call the towing company and go fetch our EZPass transponder. The pellets will be delivered today and they’re supposed to call as they’re leaving the store about an hour away. I also need to go to the thrift store - my trunk is full of stuff to donate. Then a trip to the convenience center with recycling. So a full day ahead.

And if they do total the car, we’ll be heading to the Hyundai dealer to see what they have in stock. The website lists 7 Santa Cruz in various levels of trim, but only one black one. So we shall see. I know FCD hates driving the truck, but he hates driving my car even more.

And so it begins - another day in paradise. Happy Tuesday (I hope.)

Do you ever feel like you’re talking to a wall? I told FCD the urgent care was in the shopping center with Harris Teeter. That it faced the main road. So where does he go? To the other urgent care next to Cracker Barrel, then he gets mad at me.

Fortunately, the two are less than half a mile apart, so he should make his appointment time. But dang…

FCM, “once a man gets an idea in his brain, it takes a jackhammer to get it out” (says every wife everywhere in the world). Been there, messed up (in my case it’s going to the wrong soccer field, we have two locations for the local league I support). Do hope that FCD gets some relief. Sounds like you have a pretty busy day.

swampy, happy laundry and fartfestin’!

Coppertone, good luck in the interview.

boo fae, had to look up tombolas, never ran across that word before, so thank you for making me a bit smarter today.

Think today will be shopping day for me too. Have a gift card for a sporting goods store I got a year ago that I’m finally ready to use and also will go down to Duluth Trading and try on their 40" waist flex jeans to see if I’ve made it to that milestone yet. Outside of some gym and soccer time, not much else to report, and hot (over 90F) and dry day here in N. Ali-bama.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. I shall do my Aldi run this afternoon, so I can have a pint at Ancillary Fermentation when it opens. In the meantime, I shall have breakfast, and finish making the bed now that Spot has moved his ample carcass off of it.

Low chance of hot orb today, but the Krispy Kreme Hot Doughnuts Now sign will be on periodically.(auto correct wanted to change that to Krispy Kremlin :ru:)

When we were in Germany, you could tell the dividing line between town and farm by the manure fertilizer stench.

Pellets are here - photo on FB - three pallets of pellets. MIL is still asleep, FCD has been at Urgent Care for 90 minutes so far. It’s almost as bad as the ER. They took x-rays and he’s waiting… and waiting… and waiting.

I made a batch of good ice this morning, and in an hour, I’ll be having lunch. I won’t go anywhere til MIL wakes. Waiting for a call back about my EZPass.

So goes my morning.

ETA: Bruises, nothing broken. YAY!

Good morning.

It’s 60F and mostly cloudy. It’ll be mostly cloudy early in the day, but the sun will bust out around 11:00 a.m. Our high temperature is only supposed to be 77F and I am happy with that. I will put the window AC unit away now and return to having an open window in the primary suite. I like fresh air blowing in, thank you very much.

FCM, My husband does the same thing; he doesn’t listen and then takes it out on me when things don’t work out. It’s good to read that nothing is broken, but I hope they send him home with some good stuff to help with the pain.

Sticky Buns, I’m glad the car got where it needed to be and that Music Man isn’t hurt.

The people in my tiny little development are not particularly neighborly to anyone. Everyone keeps to themselves. You might get the occasional wave or hello if you’re next to each other at the mailbox, but that’s about it. That’s pretty much the vibe all over Western Washington.

My stylist contacted me yesterday and asked if we could today’s appointment to 2:00 p.m. I was, and am, a little annoyed. I hate afternoon appointments; it just messes up my entire day. I told her I was willing to do it only because I didn’t know when I’d be able to get in, and I needed a haircut, damn it. The appointment was initially scheduled for noon, and even then, I was a little annoyed, but that’s the only option she had when I made the appointment, otherwise, I would have to wait until September.

I need to run down to Home Depot today and pick up a few things too. I am going with a list so I don’t wander and spend too much money. I like to wander all the aisles at the hardware stores and end up coming home with more than I intended to buy; much like Costco.

Finally, my oven might be on the fritz. It would not heat up past 415F last night. We had a power outage last Friday morning, so I’m wondering if something got fried then. I tried flipping the breaker switch for the oven to see if that worked, but that didn’t fix it. Today, I’ll pull it out, unplug it, and plug it back in and see if that works. If it doesn’t, I’ll have to call the repairman. I have an oven where the element is not exposed, and I won’t mess with it. That thing takes longer to preheat than it should anyway, so I’ve never been particularly happy with it. On the other hand, I don’t want to buy a new appliance either. It’s an electric glass top range/oven.

The garbage man has already come to my house, but the recycle guys haven’t arrived yet. They usually don’t show up until the afternoon.

Okay, I need to get some yogurt in my tummy.
