(Old) Motion To Vacat(ion)- An Off Work MMP

Shopping for cars has never been fun IMHO and the last time we had to do that was before the world ended. I can’t imagine that it is any better now.

Good luck to both of the car shoppers!

Bella got her morning meds. I think she seems to be a little better, Hubs doesn’t see any improvement at all. Poor GG is taking off when he hears her start warbling and is spending too much time in the crows nest where nobody can reach him.

The service contract might transfer to your new vehicle, it might be worth while to make a few phone calls. After all, what’s the worse they can say?

I thought about that, too. We’ve discussed where we go from here. Our salesguy is off today, so FCD will contact him tomorrow to get some more info.

Meanwhile, GEICO called about a medical settlement, which is more than enough to cover the copay for Urgent Care, so there’s a bit more against the down payment. Here’s hoping the adjuster gets back to us soon - we’re kinda stuck till then.

MIL is still abed, so I might get a few minutes to relax. Maybe. FCD has headed to the boat yard to deal with yet another thing that’s come up. Because that’s the way it is with boats.

I feel better today.
The muscle still feels tight but no pain meds needed.
Off to an interview, my last hope.
Hoping not to get caught in the rain.
Later is a womens group at church, complete with food!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Debby is doing her thing. Spot is riding the storm out, and celebrating International Cat Day in the most cat way possible

< crosses fingers for everything >

“Give us $25K plus tax, tags, doc fees, grift, graft, and extortion fees and in 3 years you can have nothing to show for it.”

Debby is going to be throwing a little rain our way tonight. Bella and GG are practicing up already.

Good morning.

It’s 63F and sunny right now. It will be sunny all day, and the high temperature will be 90F.

FCM, I’m sorry that Mount Crap keeps lobbing crap bombs your way. It’s just not right. I hope you have better luck finding a car on the next outing.

Sticky Buns, I also had a car lease once…never again. I never had to pay for excess mileage, thank goodness, but having a balloon payment at the end of the lease to keep it, was crappy. I knew it was coming, and we only did it to keep the car payments lower, but you’re still paying in the end. I hope you have better luck on your next look-see.

JtC, yay for new appliance deliveries! GG and Bella look adorable!

I hope those of you in Debbie’s path don’t suffer any damage.

So, the oven guy was here yesterday morning for a diagnostic and he’s pretty confident it’s the element. We shall see. However, $368 bucks (including diagnostic fee) is better than purchasing a new oven. I did look at ovens while in Home Depot the other day, just in case. The part is supposed to be delivered today, and the repairman will be back sometime tomorrow to fix it. It seems that I have been waiting for appointments this week, so I haven’t been able to do anything on vacation.

I did buy one of these on Tuesday. Power Scrubber. The stupid battery pack/charger cost more than the unit, but whatever. I also bought a couple of other brush attachments. One might wonder why I purchased such a tool.

I bought it because I’m sick and tired of getting on my hands and knees to scrub the ground in dirt on my cheesy kitchen floor. It’s a lot of flooring, and I’m just over it. I can report that it does an excellent job and will use it on my entryway floor next. The grout lines between the ‘tiles’ look dingy.

I need brand-new flooring throughout the house, especially downstairs, but that’s just not in my budget right now.

Good luck to those of you with interviews!

Off to run the dishwasher and see what other things can be done.

Morning all. Body woke up at 6am, brain dope-slapped it and I slept until 8am. Nothing too active on the schedule today, some gym time and maybe a hour or so of soccer, but nothing to strenuous. Not seeing any rain from Debby, still dry and heading to 91F.

FCM, car shopping is never fun, hope FCD comes to his senses and settles for what he had. I had a dream that my ‘geezer car’ would be a Toyota LandCruiser, but the stopped making them and they cost around $70-80k anyway, so was probably an unlikely dream anyway. And hope the ouchies are feeling better.

boo fae, not a lot of coverage of the troubles there in England, glad that it appears you live in a sensible part of the country.

Sticky Buns, hope the Zooming goes well. And feel for you too about the car replacement. And best wishes for your Mom.

Coppertone, fingers crossed for a good interview.

doggio. JtC, thanks for the pics, they helped to brighten up the day.

Hope you are ovening soon, Taters. And might have to look into one of those power scrubbers.

Onward into Thorsday, getting close to 1st meal time. Take care.

Last night I dreamt I had a loaner car. A Buick with a cassette player AND a CD player. 489,000 miles and it ran like a charm…

I slothed yesterday and may be a RDOS today. I just don’t feel like doing anything. Except I’m outta ice and need a bag. Ice is food, according to the label.

Per the USDA, seeds that could grow food bearing plants are also food. However, tomato seedlings, etc. are not food.

The USDA funds the food stamp program. Around 8% of the grocery sales in the US go to food stamp recipients so it makes sense that the stores would want iffy products like that to be labeled “food” to help the cashiers and accounting people know which is which.

From the NC DOT road closure site: Dry Creek Road closed due to flooding
Guess we’re gonna have to rename it.

Well, we’re taking Q’itih in to the vet tomorrow. I’m doubtful that we will be returning home with her. She still has a good appetite, but is having a lot of trouble keeping her footing. Whether that is arthritis or the brain lesion is unknown. She has a small stuffed mouse toy that was her favorite in years past, but which she hasn’t touched in the last year or more. A couple of days ago, she brought it to me for no reason. It nearly broke my heart. Anyway, the wife’s niece (who has had to put down dogs in the past) will be coming with us for comfort in case the worst (or best) happens.

I’ll be thinking of you. This is a hard time but I know you are doing and will do the right thing for Q’itih. You have given her a good life.

I am so very sorry.

:people_hugging:

I’ve always found it much easier to give cats meds in liquid form. Buddy’s still not thrilled about his steroid, but he’s more or less resigned to it at this point. Giving treats after a dose helps his attitude toward the whole deal, and of course Allie approves since she gets treats along with him. Last blood work looked quite good. Vet wants to continue current dose for another couple of weeks, then check him again so we can see about tapering down the dosage.

So sorry cookie. Remember the good times.

awwww. i will be thinking of y’all.

I’m being “treated” to stories about people I never knew who are long dead. I know MIL is lonely but I don’t care and it’s soooooo boring… Plus I’ve heard many of them before. Then it’s stories about her sister’s car problems. I try not to be rude, but OMG!

Got my car back with a new tire. No clue where I got the nail, so I don’t know where to avoid.

Supper will be grazing the fridge for whatever. Not what I want but I don’t feel up to cooking. I just want to go away.
