It’s official - the Santa Cruz is totalled. We’re now waiting for the settlement info. Tomorrow, FCD will go talk to the dealer about the replacement. Now, to find the replacement.
What a pain in the butt…

Howdy Y’all! Duties got did and then we were bears who brunch. Then it was back to da cave for nappage, day drinkin’, and other RDOS inactivities. No quality cee-mint pond time today, as we both felt like we overdid it a bit yestiddy. Thus it is in swampland.

MOOOOOOM now that y’all know it’s totaled, hopefully a good replacement vehicle that’s not too spendy can be found.
JtC GG and Bella look so sweet together!
mine went out sometime between 10 pm and 1 am …I’m hoping the landlord comes around today but they live outta town so…aunts GC is spending the day with her so all 3-5 projects are on hold …
I’m so sad for all the pet and human medical issues and car wrecks. I’ve been busy this week because we had a guest visit, and on her way home someone on the interstate fell asleep at the wheel, crashed into her, and caused her to hit the car ahead of her. Her car was totaled. We’ve been helping at a distance because she’s never had to deal with a collision and doesn’t know what steps to take at the hospital or with the various insurers involved.
Afternoon all. Cycling in-place in the gym has been accomplished and will head out to the soccer fields in about 40 minutes or so. Dinner will be ham-n-cheesers when I get back.
shady, hope the AC gets fixed, way to hot out there to be without it for very long.
{{{Cookie}}}. My best wishes to all of you.
FCM, patience is a virtue, or so I have heard; but everything has it’s limits. To bad you can’t run out back and scream now and then (the neighbors might talk about you…). And hope the replacement car hunt goes well.
lily, this has been quite the week for car crashes; I need to be extra careful these days. Glad guest is alright.
And need to start the dressing for soccer part of the day. Take care all.
They just look sweet and innocent!!!
Bella seems to be feeling better today…and then she cycled into heat again. She’s going back in for a recheck next week and I am going to demand the test for ORS because there is nothing saying she couldn’t have both of those things going on.
Hubs bought some pill pockets. She thinks they suck and of course GG won’t touch them.
Oh geeze, I sure do hope you can get some relief soon. Can you maybe hang out at a library for the day?
Oh NO!!!
This has not been a good driving week, everyone needs to stop that nonsense right away!!!
Our oven and cook-top were mounted today and they sure do look nice. The electrician will be back tomorrow to hook it up. I’m so excited!!!
Oh, so much better than the four grand we are spending on ours but that’s because we are buying separate units. Our single piece stove was around 1200 but we got one with bells and whistles.
The curtains in the moldering place across the street has started shedding it’s curtains. One of the middle upstair windows had the curtains fall off last week while the other curtains were just falling apart in spots. Now one of the ground floor windows is bare as well.
I thought I was maybe getting a little bored so I thought I would join the American Needlework Guild for the magazines and maybe find a chapter somewhere local. I started filling out the application and then learned that you had to pay for a full year, but it they go by calendar years so I need to wait until December. Mom got rid of her old magazines a while back because they are all online if you are a member so I guess I’m going to have to find something else to do besides watching an old house fall down.
Hi… I have Covid. I’m sad.
Been to the doc again, an actual MD, not a chiropractor, (still don’t know why they sent me to a chiro for Lyme) and got assigned round of big boy antibiotics. Hope it will work this time.
NO MORE CAR CRASHES!!! You imaginary internet friends. Plus, pets get better, too!
EmilyG Feel better soonest.
I hide lager’s pills in these. You slide the pill to the middle, then fill in the hole with the goo that came out the other end.
Better than pill pockets.
Compared to cats, dogs are usually fairly easy to pill.
Hugs to you all, whatever the outcome.
I hope that yours is a very mild case and that you’re feeling better soonest.
Irked, came home, took Nelson to the dog park, came back home, et and napped. Such excitement!
I had an inventory issue this week that I knew what had happened, but did not have the log in to correct it. One of my leads couldn’t grok the issue (inventory was transferred at SKU level to one location, but the serial numbers remained in the original location, meaning that I couldn’t do anything to transfer them elsewhere), so suggested that I do it under her log in. NO! A hard no. The other lead knew exactly what I was talking about and fixed the issue. She will get a You rock! card Monday.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
If you like pina coladas…
and getting songs stuck in your brain…
And Smoked Paprika Chicken is baking. Debby left mud and downed small branches, but no damage of note in the neighborhood.
Eek!
{{{{Emily}}}}
As do we!
Counterpoint: I once gave the late Maggie Wonder beagle a heartworm pill wrapped in ham, with cheese around the ham, and bread wrapped around the cheese. She chewed 3 times swallowed, looked at me, and spit the pill out.
Yay for fixing!
Evening all. Soccer was fun, was able to do my 20-minute “Goalkeeping 101” class for about 15 brand-new goalies, then refereed while they scrimmaged. And this will be a work in progress, they are moving up from playing 4 v 4 on a 40 x 20 yard field with tiny goals and no goalies to 7 v 7 on a 70 X 40 field with 6 x 5 yard goals and goalies. Most of them have no clue what they are doing yet, so refereeing is as much coaching as anything. Still, should keep me busy for a couple of months… Have eaten my fill and will finish my internettin’ soon so I can catch up on my reading.
JtC, happy cooking.
VanGO, glad you’re getting treating by a physician.
{{MG}}, hope it’s a mild case and hope you are feeling better soon. Let us know how you’re doing.
red, glad somebody there has their head glued on right.
And have finished the snacking portion of the day, so have my full calorie count completed, so now have to resist and additions in the next couple of hours. Catch all y’all on Firday.
Happy Thorsday!
No park this morning as it was icky outside.
It’s been rainy all day, and I guess Debby is coming through some time tonight.
It’s not something I’m worried about.
I hope the roads don’t get too messy as I have a doctor appointment tomorrow afternoon.
Poor Rayleigh, he has been waking me up in the mornings and he is excited. I know he wants to go to the park, but it’s been too messy.
All of them are bored.
I didn’t do much today besides irk. It was more irksome than usual.
I snacked way too much today, and my stomach is not going to let me forget it.
The interview went well. I will find out tomorrow.
Made my cake.
As promised!
Fence before and after restaining:
This was just weeds and grass (no side beds):
Patio:
Having ice cream for dessert. And a Smithwick’s.
Yay and yay!
Looks nifty!
We got a car. I am still a bit bah humbuggy in general. Maybe I’ll feel like talking about it tomorrow or maybe I’ll just feel better.
I hope that you feel better, soon, emilyG. And because I’ve forgotten to mention it before, your work is as lovely as always, hippie.
Also, coppertone, best of luck to you!
Ok, I’m going to bed now and you can’t stop me!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 76 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 95 and N.O.S. with a heat advisory in effect. This will definitely be a day of RDOS inactivity. We will probably have a couple hours of quality cee-mint pond time and then be inside in the a/c for the duration. Sup shall be majik intartoobz pizza and sallit.
shades hope your a/c gets fixed soonest.
Lily good on y’all for helpin’ your friend navigate all the steps. Hope she gets it all figured out soonest. The fence and the plants look great!
JtC yay for oven and cook-top! I know you will be all excitated when they get hooked up.
{{{MG}}} hope you’re feelin’ better soonest.
VanGo here’s hopin’ the big boy anitbiotics knock out the Lyme disease once and for all.
Sticky_Buns yay for the new ride!
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Happy Firday Y’all!
Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 17c/63f with a predicted high of 21c/69f and partly cloudy. Weather app says “I’m sorry but the sky can’t fucking stand you today.” Suits me fine, it’s a bit cloudy and there’s also some blue sky. Good steady breeze coming through the open window which is very nice.
{{{{{Cookie}}}}} I am sorry, but I know you will make the best decision for Q’itih.
Kind of good news, at least you know what steps to take next and once you’ve got a settlement figure, FCD will know what he’s got to play with.
Lily sorry to hear about your friend’s car problems too, it has not been a good week for mumpers and vehicles.
Have you decided on the first thing you’re going to cook? Mum always tried out a new oven with a cake, because there’s nothing more important to a Brit than having a good oven to bake a decent cake with your afternoon cuppa.
Hurrah for big boy antibees! I hope they do the job for you.
Smithwicks always reminds me of visiting 'im indoors when he worked in Cork. The only bar open on a Sunday was the one in the little local airport. Guess where you could find all the guys on a Sunday afternoon?
It’s a busy day today, we have all of our supplementary assignment submissions coming in today so I’ll be spending my morning tracking what’s come in and what hasn’t. The deadline is midday so anything after that is late!
Quiet night in tonight too as the weekend will be packed. I’m at the gym first thing in the morning, then home for a quick shower and tidy-up and some food, then off to the park for WV1 Festival which is a bunch of tribute bands, many of which we’ve seen before. We only have tickets for Saturday because the Sunday bands aren’t of any interest and because…well…Sunday’s Bruce Dickinson day!
Grumble, grouch…morning all. My landline is acting up, it rang three times very quickly at 3:45am but no one was on the line, and now is giving one short ring every 45 minutes or so, so I’ll be contacting the provider and asking WTH here in a bit. Haven’t been up this early in weeks, so nappage later on is a definite possibility. Need to do a little Firday shopping and banking, so some activity today.
Sari, take care, a quick weather map look says it’s probably going to be messy again. Hope the Drs. appointment goes well.
lily, lovely work. I thought for a second that was graffiti on the fence but I see it is a wire figurine. Nice.
{{Sticky Buns)). hope you had a more restful night than me.
boo fae, enjoy Festivating…
And that’s all I got. Need to get back to perfecting my ‘dissatisfied customer’ voice.
