We surely do. I have the great fortune to have had lunch with our friend Boo
The wife of one of Wifey, RN’s patients mentioned that W,RN’s use of a Dremel tool while doing foot care was ‘illegal’ per their podiatrist per RCW. This bothered Wifey, RN, since she knew that was false, and it really bothered her. She sought verification amongst her peers, including the MD that trained her. There is no law saying that foot care specialists can’t use motorised tools. She took a screenshot of the reply posted by the MD, which A) Verifies that there is no such law; and 2) Accuses podiatrists of attacking Certified Foot Care Specialists because they are ‘competition’.

I didn’t get it at first but thanks doggio for pointing out the pun.
Since I’m caught up this week, I thought I’d go back to last week since I was wrong about Cup of China starting today; it starts tomorrow.
From last week:
Did pickup my other prescription this afternoon, why they couldn’t have them both ready yesterday is one of the great mysteries of the ages,
This happens to us regularly. We finally started paying attention to the texts that the pharmacy sends when they say a scrip is ready and if it’s not all of them, we wait until they’re all ready. I sent a message via MyChart earlier this evening to Hubs Dr requesting 90 day refills of 3 scrips. Most of them were only 30 day scrips and I’m hoping she’ll order 90 days worth.
Also from last week:
I understand how important that symbol is. To
feel like youhave to hide it … that must be emotionally devastating.
I agree. I have a statue of the Holy Family, about 18" high in our front garden. And at Christmas Hubs puts up a manger scene. I’ve already procured 3 bales of hay. Now we just have to wait for a nice day to get Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, the lamb and the donkey out of the garage. Then if Hubs can’t do the electrical hookup, I’ll get the young man from next door or his Mom to do so. They took it down last January. Anyways, if I couldn’t put these up/had to take them down and hide them, it would hit me hard and I wouldn’t want to live here anymore.
Set a new mileage standard at the poo; today today, did 1.75 miles
Wow, you’re going to be ready for the Ironman soon.
Had to go out just now to roll the big trashbin out to the curb. Couldn’t do it earlier because it was raining. And didn’t want to do it in the early morning as it will be colder and I will want to stay warm in bed. Also had to get the jack’o’lanterns off the front porch and chuck what was left of them, after the squirrels had had their way with them, into the bin. The one I had spray painted the Spartan logo onto was quite heavy even though the squirrels had eaten about 1/4 of it away. And then I had to clean up the pumpkin seeds that the squirrels had left on the porch. What a mess.
Now it’s time for bed. 'Night all
Once again, another gathering I wasn’t invited to. Is it my breath?

We surely do. I have the great fortune to have had lunch with our friend Boo
Thank you for a lovely pic of Mumpers! I always like to put faces to names.
Gotta get up early and start clearing the shop. Then figure out what people will want. 4x8 sheet of 1/2" polycarbonate? Who the hell wants that? To buy it new it’s 500? I got 2 of them.
Frankly, John Oliver’s show could use them, his bouncy desk bugs me, it’s obviously made of 4 sheets of 1/4" poly.

We used to have a doormat that said “Cell Phone? Keys? Wallet?” and it actually worked for a couple of weeks.
There was some movie…Quick google…Nuns on the Run. Spectacles, testicles, wallet and watch.

except on Saturday at 3:30pm EST.

I’m very sure the have nothing to fear from the
. We’ll give your guys a fun game, some rock ‘em and sock ‘em defense and we’ll have good sportsmanship doing it but our QB is young and still learning. I sure wouldn’t want to be Iowa next week though!
I’m back with the late night final. Did make it to the gym for about 90 minutes tonight, so sweating has been accomplished. Had the radio on coming home, the Browns were winning 18-7 when I turned the radio off, when I turned Amazon Prime on a little while later they were losing 19-18, but I watched and wonder of wonders, they came back and beat the Steelers 24-19. Having been born and raised in Northern Ohio I (1) Hate the Steelers and (2) Love the Browns, even if they break my heart nearly every year. So in a good mood to finish the night. Temperature is down to 39F now so doing the mowage last week was probably a good idea.

Wow, you’re going to be ready for the Ironman soon.
Just have to get the lead out…
FCM, good workout. And best wishes for a quick withdrawal at the Docs so you can break fast quickly.
JtC, I usually have two towels, a change of clothing (since when I cycle I sweat a lot and I usually have my swim trunks on underneath my pants for easy conversion. Add body wash, reading matter, a case for my hearing aids, and sometimes shaving cream and razor, and I’m all set.
And something for all gym goers: Are Skin-tight bottoms look for women a thing? I do swear, some of them wear ‘sweat pants’ that are so tight that if they had a pimple on their butt I could tell which cheek (not that I would ever look…). But I’m a male of the opposite sex and can’t help but notice.
Feel better soon, Piper.
Hippie, a lovely picture, thanks for sharing.
Flyboy, hope wife is happier now that she’s confirmed what is accurate.
And the clock is approaching 11pm but I’m not feeling really tired due to the long nap this afternoon. Will lie down and read for a bit and hopefully convince my body it can handle more rest. Take care all.
And I hope we do it again really soon, it’s been far too long.
That picture is a hoot. I still had my Covid quarantine-growing -out-the-bangs-into-something-just-not-there-yet-pony tail.
I remember that warm feeling, like we’d been friends forever.
Chinese food next time, ok? We’ll find something your lovely bride wants to eat too because looking at her taking that picture is I’m sure why you and I are smiling like that. She has that effect on people.

I couldn’t put these up/had to take them down and hide them, it would hit me hard and I wouldn’t want to live here anymore.
I wouldn’t want you to have to live there anymore either. If I lived nearby I’d be right there with you wrestling that out of your garage and hooking up the electricity. Is there a star over it? Those are my favorite: peace on earth. Says it all.

Once again, another gathering I wasn’t invited to. Is it my breath
Not at all, it’s my lack of organization. Hippie had to go out to the parking lot and wave me in, I was at the point of tears and about to give up because google maps and I were not in the same reality.
Plus there is the little matter of 5 states, the Missouri and Mississippi and about a thousand miles. We’ll just have to try harder. Can Ariel come too so I can pat her neck? Maybe it would be easier if we came to you. I bet hippie and sunflower road-trips are really fun.

Are Skin-tight bottoms look for women a thing? I do swear, some of them wear ‘sweat pants’ that are so tight
Those sweatpants are to make you sweat, not them.

Flyboy, hope wife is happier now that she’s confirmed what is accurate.
She is
I am seriously bummed. I just found out one of my favorite places in town is going to close. The Norseman Brewery and Restaurant has been around for eight years. I go about once a week on Tuesdays for the food, the beer, and the trivia contest.
I know nothing stays the same forever but I almost cried when I read the notice on Facebook. I just bought a small glass there as part of the shotglass exchange Lancia is running. Besides that glass I also got two coasters, and along with the other loot I included they went to Oregon.
The last day is December 14, and for sure I’ll go again before then. I want a glass and a t shirt.
T’was supposed to be snowing all night. Instead we got rain. At 33F. Yuck.
@Baker: Our local Mexican restaurant had a kitchen fire many months ago. They’re not re-opening until (early?) January. I know how it feels to miss a favourite place. At least our place is reopening.

T’was supposed to be snowing all night. Instead we got rain. At 33F. Yuck.
Could be worse. Could be snowing.
Happy Thorsday!
I fell asleep this evening, sitting in my chair, while I was supposed to be irking.
It was a slow night, so no big deal.
Congrats on the raise Shoe
You’re welcome CatGlove
I keep my pills in the top drawer of my desk. I don’t leave them out because of the dogs. They leave stuff alone, but you never know. Or I could knock them over. Safer to keep them tucked away.
There are pill dispensers at da jungle that come with alarms.
There are also pill bottles with locks, which somehow putting a lock on a plastic bottle seems a little wtf?
Although I’m thinking of somebody wanting to get into narcotics, I suppose if you have small kids or confused elders, it’s probably a good idea.
I need to schedule my bone density test.
The magnesium supplement I take has calcium in it. I’ve been taking D for years. One of my friends was deficient in D, and it was pretty bad. Her legs hurt so bad she was crying from the pain. Who knew a simple vitamin was all she needed?
The trashmen missed my trash today, It is soooo annoying.
The boys stayed home this morning when I went to pick up my son. When we got home they were so excited to see him that they actually jumped on him. They almost never jump on people. I didn’t even have to train them not to, they typically don’t jump. Except for Echo, none of my Shar Pei jump on people. So they jumped on my son, ran and played with Echo. Misiu looked over at me and said, Hey Mom and off he went.
They get jumping, playing, and excitement.
I get Hey Mom.
From what I hear, my cousin has no brain activity. He and his wife were out of state when it happened, so from what I understand he will be moved to a hospital in their home state before testing for brain activity because it costs more to move a body than transfer person.
It shouldn’t be that complicated.
I need to go to bed. If it’s not raining we will go to the park in the morning.

I was holiday moded against my will.
That happens to 99% of retail workers the day after Thanksgiving.
The others are either deaf, or died in their sleep that night.

< jumps up and down on virtual Mumper lawns >
I’m 44. Can I join in?

They use salt here which makes cars rot.
You’re gonna wanna hit the car wash frequently.
Look for one of the fun ones with all the extraneous neon and colorful lights and stuff.

I would also assume horse hair was used, human hair is usually used for wigs.
That would be a fun plot twist for a murder mystery. What a way to hide DNA evidence!

I will be so happy when I finally get it cut, I couldn’t get an appointment before Thanksgiving.
If you aren’t too vain, you can easily give yourself a chop-job with your good scissors in your bathroom to get the process started & make swimming/post-swim easier.
The stylist can smooth out the rest for you later and probably won’t even laugh in your face.

And then I had to clean up the pumpkin seeds that the squirrels had left on the porch.
In my experience, leaving the seeds for another day or two usually gets the other squirrels, possums, and blue jays to clean the mess up for you.

Are Skin-tight bottoms look for women a thing
Oh, that’s a solid “Yup” and not just at the gym.
They’re called yoga pants, even if the woman has never said “Namaste” in her life.
Odd. I hear the generator running so the elec must be off ( lotta snow) but the lights come on but really dim.
Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 2c/35f with a predicted high of 5c/41d, with snow showers. Weather app says “This snow is the perfect fucking excuse for you to stay inside and be fucking lazier than you normally are.” Well, there’s been snow overnight, followed by rain, and now we have clear skies and the hint of sun.

Poor FCD was in tears at the table watching his mom.
{{{{{FairyChats}}}}} It must be so hard on him to watch her decline, especially after dealing with his dad too. It’s tough on all of you, and it does seem like the end may be pretty close for her.

Can somebody 'splain why laundry gets lighter once it has been folded?
The extra weight of all the water’s gone?

I think the hard workouts the last week or so finally told on me, laid down and ended up sleeping nearly 3 hours.
Sometimes, you just need the sleep. Nothing wrong with that!

I have the great fortune to have had lunch with our friend Boo
Very fortunate, indeed!
flyboy I’m glad Mrs LA got verification of what she knew to be true. I hope the patient shuts up about it now
Yesterday turned out quite busy, I was trying to work on exam papers for the January exam session but it was so noisy in the office (the elves were making and putting up xmas decs) that I couldn’t concentrate and had to check my work several times to make sure I’d got the right details in the right places. All of the papers had to be set by one academic, checked by another, then approved by our external examiner and the deadline for uploading them to the Exams Office site is today. Luckily I managed to get it all done, they’re completed and approved, and the ADHD squirrel has said she’ll do the uploads for me because it’s a faff, and one that I can do without.
The Travel Gods were playful yesterday, the train from campus was late so I missed the connection at Big City Station and had to get a later and slower-running service. Got home eventually, had leftover chilli for dinner and went to bed early. It snowed again last night, then turned to rain by morning so underfoot it’s icy, and slushy, and slippery. The journey in this morning went well, and was improved by the mainline London train being 10 minutes late into my station so I didn’t miss it after all.
I’ve got some room bookings and whatnot to sort out today for someone else, that means fart-arsing around with the timetable software to work out when students have free time. More joy.
