(Old) Stone Cold Vacation A 4/20 MMP

I feel that so hard!

Thanks for suggesting Aldi critter treats (even if it wasn’t to me). Hubs likes giving the fuzzbutts treats and our catsitter goes through them pretty quickly as well.

That sounds lovely, I’m so happy for all of you

I’m guessing it has already happened and will predict that you will be very pleased this evening. (I also hated walking around with just one lens in my glasses, I could tell that people noticed but were too polite to say anything.)

It would be hard to tell, cats always seem like they are on good drugs anyhow.

The nice thing about those fools is that they usually aren’t going fast enough to hurt themselves. Last time we saw someone roll over, the driver crawled out the window holding a half full Mountain Dew bottle and then dropped it and took off running because his passenger was PISSED. We suspect there was more than just MD in that bottle.

420 doesn’t seem like an appropriate day to by irritated by anyone. He needs to listen to more Toyes.

One of the Budistas I talked to yesterday was really struggling with the cash register. He said they came in to work and learned that their tech people had send out a mass email saying they were rolling out a new feature and that there might be some issues. Sorry for the inconvenience.

420 is the dispensary’s version of Black Friday, so not a great time to mess with the point of sales terminals.

Is she closer now? I seem to remember it being a two hour drive? Give her my love, she seemed to be a very nice lady when we met.

When I uncovered the tomatoes this morning, I could sure tell they had not had a great night. Happily, that should be the last of it so if they don’t recover in a few days I’ll be able to replant worry free.

SPAM wouldn’t be great for cats because of all of the salt, but a little unspiced chicken or fish shouldn’t be a worry. When will you get the bloodwork back? I hope she was just having a bad day.

Same. I graduated a year ahead of my class, so I didn’t know anyone anyhow. I kept in touch with the people I wanted to keep in touch with and never had any desire to go see what had happened with a bunch of people I never really cared about anyhow.

Jealous!

Doesn’t she also have skin problems? I’ll bet it is a food allergy and it will take you months to figure out that the only solution is feeding the most expensive fud available. Pets love doing that sort of thing to us.

I don’t want to add to your worries, but women having heart attacks present much differently than men. Arm and shoulder pain shouldn’t be ignored, especially if it keeps getting worse. Can you slip her a few gummies to help her relax? I know I’m much more agreeable when I’m stoned. (they can be mailed if you don’t have a local source. I can’t buy them in WV, but Ohio and Virginia aren’t that far away.)

My plans for today include smoking some of the good stuff I bought yesterday and putting together a couple of packages of leftover threads.

A member of a needlepoint forum I read was wishing she could buy small amounts of different brands and makes of threads to try out. I offered to send her some out of my stash and several other folks raised their hands as well.

Everything in my bin is leftover from past projects, I don’t have full skeins or cards and I have no plans or even partial plans to use any of it. So why am I having so many issues giving it away? I keep looking at bags and thinking “I don’t want to give this away, I might need/use it someday.” But I won’t, it will just stay in the bin until I’m dead and poor shoe gets it in the mail.

This has been going on for several weeks now. Neither of us do drugs of any sort.

On the plus side of things, my herb garden is doing pretty well:

And the wife has an appointment for tomorrow!

That is indeed good news!

After the mild freeze the other night, we’re looking at 70F in the upcoming forecast. Spring in the Mitten State is weird.

As a result, I’ll eventually put on some kind of pants, and drag the plants back out so they can soak up the mild weather. Also, gotta roll the bin back up the driveway, and it is generally frowned upon to engage in such activities while pantsless.

Stoopit hyooman society rules.

I’m back! They didn’t knock me full of the goofy juice this time, so I’m lucid. I’m not sure if I trust the stairs yet, otherwise I’d grab my tablet from downstairs.

After this nap.

it is easier when you know what to expect.

enjoy the nap!

Just got an email today from the marine museum where I’m a member. One of the concerts they’re having this summer will feature ZZ Top. That’s one of the biggest names I’ve seen coming to this venue. Usually they seem to have country performers, but I don’t know how famous because I don’t much like country. Anyway, just wanted to share that tidbit.

I was down in the dumps, then I stopped at a rich people’s Harris Teeter for some bok choy for tomorrow’s stirfry. I took a nap. Spot has been clingy.

Not if it didn’t get up itself.

I would have. But I’m always nice to machines, so maybe they would spare me during The Robot Uprising.

:slightly_smiling_face:

That’s why I’ve never gone.

Yay!

Seriously cool.

Aren’t you a Hurricane fan? That was a great (long) game last night! Double Overtime!

Indeed. Although Canes playoff hockey isn’t good for my cardiac health.

Howdy Y’all! I accomplished mowage and then seriously slothed the rest of the day. Pizza was good and I was good and picked off all the green peppers. Also I took a dose of Miralax per instruction at six p.m. Thus begins the prep for Thursday’s roto rooter.

Lily those pearls would be perfect to clutch as you fall upon your faintin’ couch. They sound much more dramatic than a strand of all white pearls. I have a fifty year kolledge reunion this Fall. I am decrepit!

FlyBoy glad all is well with Goo. Good for her for bein’ a great big sister and teachin’ Findus to beg.

**Taters hope Maisie is feelin’ better, poor baby.

JtC that’s a great pic of GG!

Cookie glad the wife has a doc appointment tomorrow.

Mollie huzzah! I am sure you are seein’ the marvelous after effects by now.

Notty I would not have picked the machine up. Indeed I might have kicked it since I generally rage against the machine.

MOOOOOOM I would seriously consider goin’ to a ZZ Top concert.

It has rained almost all day. I got some things taken care of on the phone, found out what the issue was with my car and that it can be fixed for less than $200 on its own. But there is a $175 tow bill and I authorized an oil change, a front license plate mount installation and hanging the bumper guard back up, so it will likely be $500-600 out the door. Once I’ve done the drive cycle on the new battery, I’ll get the inspection done and get the Texas tags.

Since I was indoors all day, I made the broth that I’d planned to do the other day. I got 3 quarts of veggie broth, 2 of chicken broth, 2 of pork broth, enough chicken removed from the bones for chicken salad and enough pork for Nelson treats for a couple of days. I feel so productive.

Ms Peach figured out how to come back in the doggie door!!

She also just got prevented from chomping on a rock.

Goo’s blood test came back. Hyper-thyroid. Her T-counts were on the high side of normal when we were concerned about her weight loss a couple/few years ago. Now they’re higher than normal. I suspect that her T-counts have been increasing, and that her sudden, brief, loss of appetite was the mushroom gravy from the pot roast.

Yay! Nelson’s little brother/cousin does the rock thing. Sis has stopped him from chowing down on rocky road on numerous occasions.

Actually, I feel quite nauseated, but the pain isn’t too bad.

Good to be on the other side of surgery, ey, Mollie?

{{{Goo}}}

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 6c/43f with a predicted high of 16c/60f and mostly cloudy. Weather app says" Cloudy with a slight fucking chance of a stampede of elephants. You might want to fucking run."

That’s very good news - how did you manage to persuade her?

Fun times! I last saw ZZ Top at the Ramblin’ Man festival in 2017

Taters I hope Maisie is feeling better soon, poor little pupper.

Both Shadow and Ophelia were the same as they got older. Fortunately it’s manageable with meds and we had the little fuzzbutts around for a good few years after diagnosis.

Yesterday was an uneventful day, I did not accomplish much of anything apart from a webinar and a minion meeting. I pulled leftover chicken curry from the freezer for dinner and we watched the first couple of episodes of the last season of Gen V before I declared it bedtime.

I was up before the alarm went off this morning, fed the cats, cleaned litter trays and washed my hair before having a cuppa and packing stuff up for campus. The journey wasn’t too bad, so that probably means it’ll be horrible going home! Might go to the pub tonight, might not.

Today is the day for packing up our office stuff, IT are coming to disconnect screens and desk hubs so most people will be going home when that’s done so they can work more comfortably. We have an all-staff briefing this morning at which one of the mucky-mucks will tell us something and nothing about changes to education support that will not be effective until next year. Or not. Who knows?

Yes! She’s moved from over an hour away to about 10 minutes away in a local nursing home.

That’s wonderful. And your herb garden is pretty cool, too.

Great news!

I once saw them at Blossom Music Center. It was probably the 1980s.

I got a bit of a surprise when I went to see my mom last night. She’s actually decided that she’s ready to come back home. So the process begins! And when I get done here, the packing of boxes will continue. As a matter of fact, I think I should probably disappoint the poodle who is sleeping on my lap and get up and get to work!

Sorry, I missed {{{Maisie}}} in my last post.

Awake with opioid itchiness so I just took a Zyrtek. Feeling pretty good otherwise, with manageable pain and a little intubation-derived snoring. Sleeping in 5- to 30-minute bouts, which is fine. Meds every 2 to 4 hours for a few days. My lovely wife is lovely and our cats are bewildered by my refusal to let them swarm me.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 57 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 80 and cloudy. Today is clear liquids diet day. Woo and Hoo. Fortunately I can have black coffee. The sheet says I can have carbonated beverages but doesn’t specify just clear ones. That kinda surprised me. Anywho, lemon and lime Jell-O, chikin and beef broth, and lemon/lime popsicles are today’s foodstuffs for da bear. I get to start drinkin’ the ick at six p.m. OYKW will procure provisions today and get himself a fried chikin lunch from the Pubic Sto’. He said he would eat out today but that’s silly. He’s gotta eat and I know he prefers to not go out and eat alone.

Lily glad you are back amongst us! May you heal quickly and relatively painlessly.

VanGo yay for Ms. Peach figurin’ out how to come in the doggy door! Maybe one day she will figure out don’t eat rocks.

Sticky_Buns great news about your mom!

red homemade broth is the best. I always have frozen chikin and beef broth on hand. That’s one consolation I have today. At least the broth is my own yummy homemade broth.

Now I need more caffeine and, as it were, “feed” rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!
