Thanks for the virtual hugzzz y’all.
That made me chuckle - it would work well on a T-shirt.
The voice was wrong. I will add, it does sound like the kind of mistake I encounter with A.I. generated audio.

Morning all. The evening weather is dropping into the 50’sF and sleeping is much easier, so was abed until nearly 8am again. Have had cereal to break fast for the third time this week, just to show I can change my habits (usually have cereal only twice a week). Outside of doing my Kroger shopping list for Firday and adding digital coupons, plus coaching soccer, nothing much on the agenda.
Mollie, hope the father announcement in a few weeks goes well.
VanGo, I have no artistic talent whatever, boss may know his user base (visitors) better. Keep on working at it.
shoe, that certainly is one S.M.. And anniversary {{{hugs}}} for the bittersweet memories.
Cupcakes, looking forward to the winter reports of the soups made from your work yesterday.
boo fae, I’ll settle for plodding along the treadmill without any aching feet. Happy sofa flopping!!
Swampy, that is genius music there. Put a big grin on my face way to early in the morning.
Nut, took me a little while to get into the RDOS way of life, but it’s fairly adaptable. Happy pottering!
JtC, unfortunately, according to his thread, JohnT got shut out of the rally, they were full by the time he got there.
FCM< i know what you mean, I love my brother and SIL and their kids, but 2-3 days of sitting around the house watching TV all the time and I’m ready to hit the road.
Knots, true that on the French; have they raised the barricades yet or not? And believe me, I’d rather see ears of corn, them I know what to do with.
And that’s it for the morning report. Need to check my webcomics and perhaps some house-irk before reporting to the gym for the daily sweatage. Have a good one all.
Good morning.
It’s 50F and foggy again. The morning fog will transition to partly cloudy skies and sun, with a daytime high of 70F.
Shoe, sending you hugs.
Sending best wishes to Wet One’s relatives for safety during the storm.
Grocery shopping is on today’s agenda. My husband will do it alone. I don’t like going with him because he races through the store and gets crabby when the grocery store never seems to have enough cashiers, and the deli counter is worse than useless for customer service. I keep telling him it’s not the workers’ fault; it’s management, but he comes across as kind of jerkish at the grocery store, and I don’t want to be around that. I shop there, too, and I don’t want him associated with me.
I’ll probably dink around in the yard some. Even though I weeded recently, they’ve popped through again because of the morning moisture. I need to knock out some laundry, too.
Alrighty, time to finish my coffee and start the day.
Please take care of yourselves.
Thanks, I’ve been websurfing while on hold, but didn’t see that post.
The morning fog cleared around 9 and then the birds were HUNGRY!!! One bird flew to the window sill and George leaped over me to get from his nap on the loveseat to the window perch in one single bound.
I’ve also been carrying my phone around and working on the fridge. It isn’t bad, mostly I just need to wipe the shelves down and organize. The big problem is that I opened the freezers and ouch. He’s got stuff scattered between both of them without any real organization involved and its triggering my CDO. I’ll probably get that sorted out after lunch, if only so I can figure out what we have and where it is.
Hubs just texted me and the tire$$$ has to be replaced because the days of patching tubes are well past us.
OK, breaks over, I’m getting too comfortable here so off with me. I’ll catch you all after I finish today’s calls.
Hugs to you. Those anniversaries hit hard some years.
Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP. After, I shall shevel and head to the grocery store. Such excitement!
Y’all have a great day!
56F at 1020. We have a heat wave coming this weekend when we’ll be seeing high 80s. Then a 30 degree plunge back to seasonal weather.
All puzzles puzzed and my brain seems to be working better today than yesterday. Speaking of which, the city is apparently testing the tornado sirens again. It’s still a bit triggering for me, even after 60 years (a siren meant incoming fire in Vietnam). My first impulse is to take cover. Me no likey.
My #1 favorite musical!!! Do you hear the people sing, singing the songs of angry men, it is the music of the people who will not be slaves again!
I really like seeing your weather reports because many times it means that will be the weather we have in 36-48 hrs.
I had half of a blueberry bagel with cream cheese and a cup of Sweet Cinnamon Spice tea that I made the same way that shoe does.
Then I adulted, first pawed through stacks of mail and could not locate the invoice for the car insurance premium but Haley in the agent’s office was very helpful and that got paid. Now I’m off to the lazyboy to watch the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Media Day.
There’s a major warm front heading in from the northwest (Canada), and at this time of year that automatically means a huge plunge in temperature following its passing. So high winds and heat in the forecast.
I did manage to get out of the office at a decent time yesterday, and decided to go to the grocery store on the way home: now my pantry is full of PopSecret Homestyle and Pepperidge Farm, my fridge is full of Gatorade Zero, and my freezer is full of Lean Cuisine – plus one Blake’s chicken pot pie to try, based on something shoe posted a few MMPs ago (and because Safeway was entirely out of the small Marie Callender’s chicken pot pies).
It’s going to be a busy weekend, but at least I know I have plenty of fud!
After getting home from the store I still had time to futz around with Lego, and got through two more bags of Downton Abbey pieces. 10 down, 15 to go! I did that (while binge-watching The Big Bang Theory) until shortly before 8pm, when I relocated to the TV room for the Yankees game…which wound up being the last one of the year.
Once again, our own asshat fans screwed the team over during a home game: one of them reached over an outfield wall to grab a fly ball, and what should have been a game-tying two-run hit became a one-run hit. I can’t say we would have won the game if that
hadn’t interfered, but I do think it cost us some momentum. Anyway, we totally got swept by Tampa Bay. At least I respect that team; it’s not like we were swept by, say, the Phillies.
Right now I am slacking instead of adjudicating the comments on this presentation, which is due to the customer by COB tomorrow. I might actually be Slacking (with a capital “S”), because it’s gonna be a short day: our recruiters are hosting an in-person job fair from 4:00-6:00, and all hiring managers with open requisitions (that’s me!) have been asked to attend. They want us there at 3:30, so they can tell us how the event will run, show us to our tables, etc. It’s a great idea and I’m all for it, but that’s less than two hours from now.
And I’ll be bringing my stuff with me to the job fair, so I can head home as soon as it’s over. When I’m done with this file all that will be left is for the tech writer to do a high-level proofreading and formatting sweep, and when I talked with him this morning he agreed that he could get the presentation sometime tomorrow morning and still have enough time. I can always do some work tonight if I feel guilty enough (especially now that there will be no eastern ALDS game 4…sniff, sniff). I’m running a risk that there will be a comment I need to talk with an author about and I won’t be able to reach them, but the odds are low; I’ll take the chance. Life in the fast lane, bay-bee!!1!
On Saturday I’ll be out of the house most of the day: HusbandBFF is going out of town for the weekend and WifeBFF has some health and mobility issues, so I’ll be going to her place right before lunchtime and hanging out there all afternoon. Just to make sure she doesn’t need anything. Then, I have tickets to go hear some live jazz: I’ve known the singer and pianist for years and I love them as both musicians and people, but the singer doesn’t perform often and the pianist lives out of town so it’s rare to get to see either of them – let alone on the same gig. I know the other band members, too. It should be a good night.
Sunday will start off (blessedly) slow, but then I’ll be driving to Baltimore for a baby shower. Baby/wedding showers really aren’t my thing and I generally bow out of attending them, but my oldest friend’s first child – the first person who ever called me “aunt” – is now 31 and pregnant with her first child.
I actually don’t want to skip this one…but I wouldn’t place any bets on me not leaving a little early! Heh.
Nope.
(Otherwise I wouldn’t have said “I do not know what is up with my eyes”…right?
)
I’d already tried some (good) eyedrops, but they didn’t help. Luckily, things are back to “normal” today!
!
I am now picturing a McD’s drive-thru full of workers from all of the surrounding restaurants, which were likewise having a slow night. ![]()

I’ve finally learned (about myself) that if I actually want to read a magazine, I need the print version. Paper issues might get put aside for a while, or may even wind up in the trash unread, but I can no longer fool myself by figuring that I’ll save money and trees by just subscribing to the online version – after all, I’m on one computer or another 60% of the time anyway, right? Nope: I will never look at a single issue. ![]()
{{{shoe}}}
It got a bit chilly today because it’s been raining! According to the weather people, we are still at only 50% of normal for this month’s rain. And we’re only on the 8th.
At it is chilly, I’ve switched over to herbal tea in the evening.
Until recently I rarely remembered my dreams, but now it seems I have a series going on every night. I finally remembered to look up strange dreams and HRT, and there are others who have reported incredibly vivid dreams after starting HRT. I have an appointment with my PCP at the beginning of November, so I’ll mention my dreams then. In case the PCP wants to defer to the GYN, I have an appointment with my GYN at the beginning of December. The dreams are not so bad that I need to do something about them, and it seems some people’s vivid dreams settle down, so we’ll see if that changes in a few weeks.
So that’s why the NWS issued a flood warning for Saturday.
Mostly the same as yesterday, although non of the left behinds in my area. They done 2 classes of seasonal Blueberries this week, I would how many out of the 50 are left? I did my Senior Day shopping after work, and had a can of soup for lunch.
[Catholic]And also with you.[/Catholic]
It’s France. Of course.
{{{{Cookie}}}}
I hope you enjoy it! The crust is lighter than M.C. more delicate/flaky.
Dad came home from Korea with scars and purple hearts among other ribbons. When I was living in Hawaii, they sounded the emergency sirens the first of every month. It was just part of life for me, I didn’t think about Dad until we were suddenly both under my bed. I had no idea the man could move that fast!
The weather world-wide is very alarming. I read somewhere that September was the hottest month in recorded history.
I’m going to look for them myself. Marie has been letting us down recently.
So the fridge has been cleaned and I only found two duplicate bottles of sauces, which isn’t bad. If Hubs can’t see an open bottle, he just opens another one instead of actually looking behind stuff.
I really can’t complain about that TBH. I have an entire dorm fridge for my cheese and there are plenty of duplicates there. Not opened, though.
I’m done with my phone work for the day as well. I called someone who is a rabid fan of the orange disgrace and she let me have it with both barrels. Meh, I’ve been called worse by clients at the food stamp office, she was an amateur. I smoked a bowl and thought about it and then called our family preacher and told him all about it.
He called her and told her that it was important for her to do her job correctly because if we don’t get parade permits we will just go where ever we want and they want to know where we are. He is pretty sure he will be able to get the permit numbers when he calls on Tuesday.
Besides her, I have seven left that need to be processed. Paperwork is paperwork no matter where you go.
Well, its a lovely afternoon so I think I’m going to take my stitching and go out back. The sun’s moved enough that the back porch is shaded again, I’m still allergic to the sun.
I got my blood work back. My cholesterol is still high and my sodium is a wee bit low. My Doctor said I could just add a little more salt to my food.
Sounds like I’ve just been prescribed french fries!
On the day I left Vietnam, I was sitting in the air terminal at Da Nang Air Base waiting for my freedom bird to arrive. I didn’t know that they tested their siren every day at noon. Next thing I knew, I was under the bench and everyone was staring at me. Good times
Osteoporosis runs in my mother’s side of the family.
Which is a silly way to spell “ice cream for breakfast is okay!” but hey, who am I to argue.
Up from naptime, having a Mai Tai and watching hockey. Dinner is Smoked Paprika Chicken with cheesy potato wedges and sauteed asparagus.
Who said it’s not?
Howdy Y’all! RDOS sloth has indeed been the rule of the day. We may have set a record even! I read, napped, day drank, and watched stoopid teevee. TWPTB are all in a tizzy over the hurricane. We are currently under a tropical storm watch and a flood watch. I realize that it all could be, so will keep an eye out, but seems like at least eight percent of the time it’s not as bad as predicted. Thus is the news from swampland.
Cat_Glove in all fairness, I am kinda disturbed. ![]()
Knotty I don’t do awesome. Best I can do is sorta maybe a’ight.
MetalMouse thanks. I first performed that waaaaaay back in 1970 as a junior in high skool. I have always felt my version is better than the original. Then again, the Carpenters, well, ![]()
Mollie you have indeed been prescribed fries. Go to Five Guys and get a ten gallon size, Actually I think that’s what they call a small fries.
shoe aren’t we supposed to have dairy at breakfast?
Evening all. Only two boys made it to practice so it was shortened a bit but still got a little more exercise after doing the usual gym sweatage. Still don’t know what the weekend is going to bring, watching the Gulf storm reports closely, it looks now like a lot of rain but not serious stormage which will stay west of us. But definitely a wait-and-see time. Still 77F outside but cooling down to 60F tonight so another comfortable night’s sleep is expected.
Taters, I try to be nice to the grocery workers and don’t use the cashier checkout line (self-serve all the way), but I do move through it fairly quickly.
JtC, thanks for the jogging of the memory, need to clean up the refrigerator tomorrow. Fortunately I do keep my freezer moderately well-organized.
Cookie, they test the tornado siren every Wednesday at Noon every week, so you probably wouldn’t like it here. Props for your service.
Cat Glove, have never seen Les Mis, but know the song you mentioned from of all places a Science Fiction storyline set in 1632ad (time/space travel was involved).
Oopsie, the Yankee faux pas is all over the sporting news, I can sympathize a little as the temptation must be incredible, but on the other hand, as a born-and-raised Cleveland Indian fan, I have to love the self-own by the Yankees… And sounds like a well-thought-out and enjoyable (at least I hope the baby shower will be nice) weekend is planned.
Haven’t had a magazine subscription for years, do get the Americans United Church and State as part of my yearly donation, which I read occasionally.
Dicey, these dreams…I will remember one a month and usually forget it within the day, hopefully yours will settle down with time.
Wet one, best wishes to family. I’m 350 miles from the coast so not sure what I’ll get Sunday, but nothing like what the folks on the Gulf will experience, I am sure.
JtC, I had an uncle who was pulled out of Officer training and sent into the Battle of the Bulge. He lived well into his 80’s and would never ever talk about it. Some things better left unsaid…And a nice piece of family jujitsu on the MAGA fan.
Some folks get all the luck <grumble, grumble…>

Absolutely it is allowed. It’s got milk and cream in it, after all…
And back to RDOS activities. Have the NFL tackleball game on Amazon Prime and am bouncing between this missive and the game so hopefully this all makes sense. Take care all.
