Ms. Dog and I walked 8.5 miles.
Me: I’m soooooo tired. Point me toward the sofa.
Ms. D.: Hey! Where’s my toy? Wanna play fetch? I love fetch! Toy! Toy!
I was hoping to find good Darci news when I checked here. I’ve been nudging St. Francis on her behalf.
VanGo, wow, that’s a lot of work! Hope you get to rest up tonight.
Bumba, deathly allergic AND lactose intolerant…you poor boy!
What a fantastic name! They need Moooom’s rainbow hats!
Aw, thanks. You’re such a kind person! I shouldn’t have mentioned the funk. I’m trying to avoid griping here. I don’t do it anywhere else, plus I’m worried that maybe I’ve earned myself a reputation as an unpleasant whiner on The Dope, and that appalls me.
Oh, and give me a rhubarb pie for dessert! Sadly, my rhubarb patch has come under attack from weeds, mostly really pervasive grass, the last couple of years. I think I let them get too over-crowded and they got weak.
I’ve never been a big dessert eater. I’ll taste it if it is put in front of me and save the rest for later. Sometimes I get to it before hubs, usually not. He’s the big dessert eater in the house.
Frozen bing cherries covered with cream is a good treat, but for later in the evening.
So I got my nerves tested today. The tech started explaining how the electric stimulation would be a little scary but wouldn’t hurt me, so I told him that I know all about it from that time I got tazed* and he had the usual reaction “How did it feel?”
The after all the electrocuting was done, the tech told me that while he wasn’t a doctor and that the doctor would be reading the results and transmitting his findings to my doctor, the tech doesn’t think I have nerve damage or carpal tunnel.
*back when I was young and stupid, we were at a biker party and the bounty hunter (bail skip tracer TBH) offered to taz me so I told all the guys that I was going to Ponch’s place to get tazed and they all jumped on their bikes so everyone could go and get tazed. Ponch put a mattress on the floor and positioned us so we would fall on the mattress. After we all got tazed, we had a few beers and told each other how we weren’t really scared and that it was good to know what to expect in case we were going to be tazed for real. (Like any of us were in any danger of doing anything to get tazed over, but most of you know how young and stupid people can be.)
Dang. I was hoping she was sitting in doggy jail waiting to be processed and released. I sure hope she is found soon, both of you are suffering.
They are so much better for the environment. I do reuse the placemats though…
You probably can. Call or chat with the manufacturer and ask them. I called the manufacturer of ours when i wanted to know the wattage, the young person on the phone was happy to help.
Our DG has some groceries but no fresh produce. I like the size of their soup cans, they are much better for just one person to eat.
I’m glad you two are going to the park again. The weather will be warmer later in the day. I hope this works out for you.
My life is quiet today. Just hanging out on my non-standard weekend days while my wife recovers from a nasty bout of food poisoning. Immediately I’m having dessert of good brie plus post-dinner drinks. Tonight is Gimlet night for me.
The first sounds of a monster thunderstorm are just approaching outside.
For those following along at home, she’s now barfing up the plain rice she ate two hours ago. This from something that started on Friday night. Poor thing.
Unsolicited advice from your majik internet nurse friend:
She needs to be seen by a doctor or PA/NP tomorrow. 72 hours is too long for simple food poisoning, especially at our age. Lots of things it could be gall bladder, yada yada, or she has vomited/etc. enough to have gotten her electrolytes out of whack enough that it is just going to keep happening.
I once needed a phenergan injection and two bags of IV fluid at an urgent care in similar circumstances.
Cajole her into getting seen. She will get some help to feeling better sooner and catch whatever is causing it, whatever it is, before she is run into the ground.
Evening all. All quiet and peaceful, so something will probably go wrong soon. Soccer was coached, I was almost late due to missing the crowded left turn lane and the alternate route was blocked by a freight train, but still got a couple hours of fresh air. Cool again tonight (near 38F) but starting to warm up tomorrow (high near 70F).
Tokyo Bayer (have no clue what a good MMP name would be), you’re in swampy’s neck of the woods if you are south of Atlanta, I’m over in Ali-bame and red and cat glove are in Tennessee, so we have you partially surrounded. And glad you are back in Japan, a place I have never visited (outside of Narita Airport to change planes).
VanGo, don’t know what they are paying you for the install (none of my business), but I’m telling you it ain’t enough…
JtC, never been tazed, never wanted to be tazed, but to each their own.
nellie, at the absolute worse, you are a very pleasant whiner… Sometimes sharing a bad moment helps out, and we’re here for you.
Herald, if the Aurora ever gets down to Ali-bama, then things are really screwed up. But I’ve seen the Southern Cross, I would also like to see the Northern Lights. And happy harvesting!!
Ok, some TV and some reading and will call it a day. ah, to finally sleep in my own bed.
Huh? Northern Hokkaido is a very long way from Alabama and Tennessee. “Surrounded” my oh so cute tush. I suspect some bad editing someplace.
I suppose we could call him Hokkaido Harry or something. Although Bayer might work.
My dessert has now morphed into TJ’s dark chocolate coated almonds. And a second Gimlet. I wish all y’all’s typing didn’t swim quite so much around my screen though.
@Boo; yes, tomorrow is a doc if we can’t get this under control. She has a lot of history of lingering stomach issues once her digestive equilibrium is derailed.
Yes. This.
No worries about whining nellie. You do it with great grace and style. As do the others here. I sometimes thing we should rename the MMP the MMW. Truth in labeling and all that rot.
We were young and stoopid AND there was beer involved. TBH, it wasn’t that bad. It was scary because suddenly I had lost all control of my body and I certainly wouldn’t do it now cause getting up off the floor wouldn’t be pretty, but it doesn’t hurt or cause permanent damage. Those people you see on the news screaming after being tazed are screaming because they are scared and mad.
Feral cats are the pickiest eaters ever. If they haven’t been taught that something is fud, they won’t eat it. Hubs spent months teaching The Best Cat in the World that bacon was fud.
I have to say that every time I look at one of your pics, I am just amazed that your light colored carpet is always spotless and unstained despite you being a pet owner. I know that you must spend a lot of time taking care of it and it shows. The last time we had carpet, it was avocado green with cat puke stains. I was really glad to get laminate floors, they are so much easier to clean.
As I’ve mentioned before, my very favorite dessert is a blueberry pie with a cinnamon crumb topping from Brookside Farms. Second place is a French pastry which is a chocolate bol from Shatilla, a middle eastern bakery, even better if the chocolate bol is coated with pistachios.
Buddy’s was having a benefit for the Capuchin Soup Kitchen so dinner was pizza and salad from Buddy’s. They were donating 20% of all sales today.
Another one in TN here. I’m good with surrounding wonderful Dopers when the opportunity presents.
I think metal mouse was referring to this:
In that case, we’re kinda surrounding. Well, except on the shore side.
Hi Bayer!
I’ve read everything today and haven’t retained much. My brain is fuzzy tonight. I blame the gummies. I did see that we’re still trying to entice Darci. I hope she finds her way home soon.
Have to be on the road earlier than usual for me so I can drive out to get Dad and take him to the doctor’s appointment. We need to stop at the store when we’re done (if the doctor doesn’t think Dad should go back in the hospital). It’s going to be a pretty driving heavy day, but having time alone with my thoughts might not be a bad thing.
Now I should find sleep. Hope everyone has a good night/ day!
Look at the bright side. Kibble is cheaper than Cheezburgers
If Spot had preferred the other you’d be busy all day every day for the rest of its life bringing it cheezburgers. Although if you were feeding cheezburgers maybe you could make a fortune on internet cat memes like that other guy a few years ago:
