(Old) The Joy of Brain Farts in the MMP

Happy Sunday!

It’s been a lazy day.

No park, and Echo just isn’t herself today.
I think she is very bored and lonely.
Not for too much longer.

I took a hot bath instead. I’ve found that my leg hurts a lot less when I soak it in the morning.
I also found out one of the meds I’m taking can cause leg cramps. I just recently started taking it again as it was in short supply and the pharmacy didn’t have it.
The article I read said to try taking it every other day to see if that helps. I suppose I should call the doctor, but I’ll try every other day and see what happens. Then ease back to everyday.
I need my leg to be better by Wednesday.

I was joking with the breeder and told her one of my friends asked if she could just send the whole litter to me. She said, one puppy is left if you want him too.
I’d be crazy, but I kind to want to. But that is double irk, and double money, and double trouble. My son would kill me. That puppy did catch my eye when I watched the video though. Probably because he is the lime ribbon and so was Ripple. He also looks a lot like Ripple. Five of the six puppies are the same color as Ripple. My son is very against getting that color again, and I don’t want that color.
Then I think, I am getting old, and this will probably be the last dog I get. If he lives a full lifespan, I will be close to 80 when he dies. I may very well die before him.
And my son does do a lot of the work when it comes to Echo. I used to do everything, but with bad knees it’s not as easy to do as much. I feel like it’s not fair to him. I think he’d be happier with no pets at all.
The two of them could keep each other company if Echo can’t keep up. Then again, you have to watch out for litter mate syndrome.
If it were just my decision, I think I would go for both.
But it is dumping a lot on my son.
And Echo may feel left out.

My son seems to be excited about the new puppy.

I think his name may be Misiu.
We’ll probably wait to see him though.

I told one of my friends that the breeder is calling him Cheesy. She loved it, but then she said, that is not something you (meaning me) would name a dog.
I said no, Cheesy is just too cheesy. We could just call him cornball.

I like the bracelet Hippie. It does remind me of the 70s. I had one, cheap one though.
Long gone, I’m sure.
You have such nice stories.

Your new avatar is cute Red

I have had my share of problems with the busy tailed tree rats VanGo
They have chewed into my house several times.
Not as much since the next-door asshole who was feeding them peanuts moved out.

When one drives with the top down, hair blowing in the wind, how do you deal with all the tangles afterwards?

My socks?
I have about 30 pairs of footies in black, white, and grey. Bulk purchase. I used to separate them, but they all live in a box in the drawer and I match them when I need them. My other socks are paired up and neatly folded in the KonMari way.

I have a bunch of microfiber cloths for cleaning, but they stick to my hands and annoy me.
Color coded, white for dusting, yellow for counter tops and general cleaning, blue for floors and toilets.
Then I read they aren’t so good for the environment after all, so they sit folded in a basket in a cabinet.

I don’t envy you moving Shady.
I don’t really want to move, but I do. I need a house on one floor and a bigger yard.
I don’t want to move though.

I hope you find Darci soon Doggio

BooFae, when you go to these venues to watch bands, do the people there behave?
I got totally turned off going to places like that because the crowds get a little rowdy and a little too close.

Who would not approve of Lilacs?
I love Lilacs and Lavender.
And Tiger Lilies.

My nails grow way too fast. They always look awful because they are too long.
They aren’t as hard as they used to be though.
I have never had a pedicure and I can’t imagine I ever will. I don’t want anybody touching my feet.
My feet are really ticklish.

I’m sorry about your husband Cat Glove.

RealFish, are you competing with FCM to see who can make us more tired with your posts?
I supposed we should include Taters in that competition.
I think y’all do more in one hour than I do all day.

I finished a few tasks today.
Nothing outrageous though.
Finally got prints ordered for my son’s birthday, which was Toosday. He took some pictures of Ripple and wanted a print of one of them. I ordered some other prints of Ripple, along with one each of Mackie, Adam, and Echo. I also ordered a memorial plaque for Ripple for him.
Of course, I like it too, but I usually don’t get things like that. What he sees as a memorial display, I see as something I have to keep clean.
I put things in boxes and pull them out when I want to see them.

I pulled out Ripple’s box today and cleaned out all of his meds and stuff. I don’t need them of course, but I put everything in a box so I didn’t have to see it.

All I have left to do tonight is send an email to a work client.
Hopefully I’ll get to bed at a decent hour.

Tomorrow, we have to rearrange the furniture to fit in the air bed and the recliner.
It’ll be easier to do once all the boxes go out tonight for recycling.

The airbed is 20 inches high, but when I sit on the edge it lowers considerably, which is why I have trouble getting out of it. The directions say you can stack them, but if we put the 16 inch on top the 20 inch, then I’ll need a step stool to get in it.
I think it does need more air, but there is no real way to tell how much more air you can put in without damaging it.
JtC, I think I would love a waterbed, maybe after we move, if we move. I’ve heard they are a lot better than they used to be. I remember how nice it was sleeping on one when I was pregnant, but then I was like a beached whale trying to get out of it.

So I wander the other end of the Mine Creek trail. No Darci. I napped with Spot for a bit, since he insisted. :black_cat: I’m having a Wisconsin Old Fashioned while the poke loin roasts.

I have 10 pairs, all the same, black. I like to save my brainpower for important things.

< things go to hell at work >
other people: “dammit

Hippie, sweet story.

Good, because Tuesday is leg day, anyways.

Birthday Nelson for the win!

Oh yes, it is wonderful,

Dinner: Two Carb Balance, cheddar cheese, and greet chile quesadillas, 1 (strong) ranch water (Hornitos tequila, club soda, and lime juice), and wine.

The Spousal Unit made it home. I’m making her a cheese quesadilla on a Carb Balance Spinach Herb tortilla. Wifey, RD is moving her supplies out to the car for tomorrow. Abbey went to the door and started crying for her. I think she think’s Cat Mom is leaving again.

Today we cut the lock on the storage shed of mystery. Hubs got it in his mind that there might be a squatter living in there (???) so insisted on strapping on a pistol to come and protect me. I wore a green shirt and a mask because hantavirus is a thing out this way.

We brought our bolt cutters, but the prez of the Board actually did the honors.

And…drum roll…

There were no zombies. There were also no drifters or any sign that anyone had been inside in decades. The air inside the windowless brick building was hot and stale so we all looked inside with our flashlights and waited until a couple of the younger folks got bored and went in.

There were boxes of what we think were records, but the paper was just falling apart as soon as we opened the boxes, so hopefully there was nothing of value in them. The boxes will go to the landfill (it’s free dump week) along with the assortment of rakes with splintered handles and rusty shovels.

We didn’t see evidence of rodents, it was actually pretty clean for a forgotten building in this climate.

So that was the long anticipated exploration.

We both ate a mulberry today. Hubs had never had them before and I had forgotten what they tasted like. They are pretty tasty, but we don’t think we will be climbing ladders to pick them so we need to enjoy them while we can.

Awwww. She lurves her mommy

You are so right. Moving sucks and moving after a decade is horrible.

I agree with everyone else, that’s a wonderful, happy pic of Nelson.

Now…fess up…did you dog up because cats were “winning” the animal avatar thread?

I hope things are better now. “Did he perhaps overdo it when he wasn’t hurting?” she says hopefully.

We are happy that you are, keep it up!

That was a sweet story and your wife has very good taste in man bracelets. I’ve always liked clunky bracelets and bought hubs one many years ago. I wonder where it went, hmmmm.

You’ve mentioned before about being worried about porch pirates, do you have any of those Amazon lockers anywhere close? There are some at one of the 24 hour gas stations at the junction, according to the clerk I asked, people don’t seem to have problems getting their stuff and they can do it when it’s convenient for them. I just remembered that, sorry for not suggesting it earlier.

Do squirrels have any fear of cats? Of course you don’t want the cats in the ceiling, but would having one or two make the squirrels uneasy? (My current avatar cat would have no problems dispatching a full grown squirrel, GG…not so much.)

I suppose you should too. Maybe I’ll start nagging you about it cause you are getting a puppy and you need to be mobile and able to move without hurting.

I’m also in agreement that you need to move somewhere without stairs. I certainly can understand not wanting to move, you are comfy where you are and you have a really cute house and moving is going to be a super PITA.

As someone who used to own a small British sports car, my answer was “short hair”. Works for motorcycles as well.

Hubs likes to take a morning nap and GG always helps. Sometimes the alarm goes off and hubs resets it because GG wants a bonus nap.

Maybe carry some left over poke with you tomorrow, just in case Darci remembers that happy smell.

Yup, exciting life, that’s you.

{ whimpers } But … but … I want my stuff NOW!

Oh, Echoooooo, a suuuurrrprise is commming!

In Polish, that’s a diminutive of “bear” so something equivalent to “teddy.” Is that the origin?

How does a green shirt protect you from hantavirus?

Ye gods, am I pooped. TweedleDumber was an absolute menace tonight, damn his lazy ass. Anyway, it’s time for a bowl & bed.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. There’s a DENSE FOG ADVISORY out.

She never got to taste the poke loin.

It depends a lot on the venue  Most of them are pretty full so people are quite tightly packed in sometimes! Usually we’re towards the back or at the edges where there’s a bit more room and only ever at the front for very special things.

Friday’s gig was very busy so it was the back of the crowd for us, Saturday’s venue was a room in a pub and there were around 20 people there so much more space. Even so, the sound engineer had to have words with a couple of young 'uns at the back of the room who were trying to have a conversation while the band was on stage not 40 paces away! They were told very quickly to take their conversation outside where it is quieter and they don’t have to shout to be heard above the band. Some people are just stupid.

Occasionally there’s some “enthusiastic” dancing, but we just move elsewhere to avoid it. Never really seen any trouble and people generally behave themselves. The only gig where we have ever felt uncomfortable was New Model Army when they played at Rock City a few years back - bunch of very large guys standing at the back of the room who just were no prepared to move out of the way so others could get past. They were standing right in front of the doors to the stairs up from the little downstairs venue, and blocking the route across to the bar on the other side of the venue. They genuinely looked like they were about to punch the next person who wanted to go past them. And that’s the last time we ever went to see that band in that venue.
