OMG! She’s absolutely gorgeous.
I’m inclined to agree with you, in that they have each other to play with. They’re also big enough to make playing indoors impractical. It’s sweet the way Rayleigh holds your hand.

She’s a beauty!
It’s been a lazy evening. No clue what tomorrow will bring. We shall see…
Yes. She should join the Embroidery Guild of America. She can just sign up for the newsletters, but if she pays for a membership she will get monthly patterns and access to their pattern library. She can also select a chapter in her area and meet up with folks to stitch and share.
If she absolutely doesn’t want to pay 55 bucks for a year’s access to a library of thousands of patterns, I guess I could find one for her using my membership, but I really think she would benefit from signing up. I’d pay half.
Another chapter of your life closing is always sad, no matter how needed it is.
We are always shocked at how little it costs to eat out now. Breakfast out used to be close to that, but now it is under 20. We both order from the left side of the menu, our eating habits haven’t changed. Dinner runs about fifty and that is with a cocktail for each of us.
You could be their cat!
I’m really looking forward to the pics!
I got inspired to go out and get a bowl of snow for our fuzzbutts. Spot was much more amusing.
The arrangement was in honor of Jimmy Carter and included a hammer, saw, plane, and a box of nails.
That was so very fitting. He deserves much honor as a good human bean.
The newest Sadie photo, which I think is quite good.
Her eyes look so much better, not nearly as much goop as before her dental. Her fur looks so much healthier as well. You’ve done good for her and she sure does look like she appreciates it. Thank you kind human.
So we finally girded our loins and went grocery shopping. I was out of lemons and I cannot live without my R/O ice water with lemon. Well, I guess I could, but I would complain a whole bunch and Hubs would stress out listening to me whine, so it’s best that we got it done.
On the way home we slowed down to look at the road to the gym but it was still chained. It was a balmy 40F this afternoon so hopefully the chain will be down tomorrow. I really need to get some laps in, my back has been really achy lately.
Hubs doesn’t want me to feed the birds here. He doesn’t want the mess and I have agreed mostly because there is a fairly busy road in front of our home and I don’t want the birds to get hit by cars. There will probably be a feeder in the back yard after the catio goes up, but that will be a different conversation.
So…the fuzzbutts have been so entertained by watching the birds by the french doors during this “winter event” that Hubs bought a small bag of regular grocery sto bird seed for us. Those jerk birds don’t want seeds, they want the suet cakes and walnuts I’ve been putting out. They also like the steel cut oats and almond flakes. Ain’t a single bird been on the seed plate which isn’t going to help my “we need a bird feeder back there” discussion in the spring.

She has very lovely eyes - so slanted!
Was actually early for once, so before going in I treated myself to a frozen coffee (ironic in this weather, but yummy) and a toasted bagel.
Oh, and the place is directly across the street from us, and S.M. told me she recognized my car in ther lot. “I knew you were getting yourself some coffee!”
So now I have part of a coffee in my freezer and half a bagel to polish off!
There’s also a hunk o’cow in the fridge - I’m hoping to become both ambitious & hungry enough to marinade and sear it tonight.
Or at least, maybe half of it. There’s no way I can eat the whole thing in a sitting, and it’s so well-marbled that the cold leftovers will be less than succulent.
Yeah, I’ll probably prep & cook half of it, then make the other half another night.
It’s soooo marbled, though. I wasn’t planning on getting it, but I saw it sitting there & it looked so pretty and tasty!
The damn reach-in fridge at work is dead again, and we’ve been promised a complete replacement.
Meanwhile, we can’t store more than a couple extras (where we half-start the most common kind, to get ahead) which basically means a lot of our opening duties were skipped.
So I showed up early AND had nuthin’ to do!
Sadie is gorgeous!
I see your daughter may have access now to patterns, but a week from tomorrow I will be going to my church needlework group. I do crochet but most of the others do various stitiching crafts and I can ask them about a pattern.
I straightened up the apartment today and just got done making snickerdoodle cookie dough, I’m baking some cookies for hajario, they helped me get the answer to a question and I’d promised cookies to whoever could help. I’ll get up early tomorrow to bake, let them cool, and mail them off,
A few things to post but my body says go to sleep so here I go.
See you in the new Mmp!
Good evening all. Ate steak at Texas Roadhouse, with a fairly generous tip (over 25%) the bill came to $35, which seems to be the average these days. Then organized and filed the 2024 paperwork so I now have a place to put the 2025 paperwork. Then spent much time at the gym, and came home to sammiches and Pepsi Zero, with some carrots to nosh on. So body and belly are happy. Ignoring the last tackleball game as the first two (actually all 4 NFL games this weekend) were less than compelling viewing, IMHO.
FCM, have to try the Gala Apples again, been alternating between them, the Red Delicious, and the Cosmic Crisp apples. And hope FCD doesn’t get stubborn on the ‘top of the line’ stuff, maybe there is a compromise ‘not the cheapest but still better’ metal?
Taters, hope the package makes it soon. I seldom have any USPS problems, but between the weather and the Xmas season, I guess this time would be when things are most likely to go FUBAR.
Am I the only one who’s thinking that watching Doggio try to put a leash on Spot could be entertaining?
Sorry, not into Sado-Machocism…
there’s even a (very good) pasty shop nearby!
I must needs fear that when I see the term ‘pasty’ or ‘pasties’, I don’t often think about food…pasties is also the term for nipple coverings some strippers wear due to local laws, IIRC)
Sticky Buns, hope the training is at least interesting to make up for the drive. And the Akron area is my old stomping grounds, haven’t been up there for years now, need to visit it sometime soon.
swampy, a nice tribute to an honorable man.
Cookie, lovely picture of Sadie, she looks quite comfortable in your place these days.
And that’s all for the late night final. Catch up with y’all on the next MMP.

Says the man who went to a strip club to play pool.

Ummm…pretty sure that is a “I’m quite comfortable in my place” look on that gorgeous feline.
Sadie is gorgeous! She is looking quite comfortable.
My new microwave should arrive some time tomorrow. I started going through the kitchen area. I reckoned on it being a chance to put away seasonal plates, bowls, drink ware.
Hours later, I put one bag in the goodwill bin. Took stuff down to the football watchers. Then moved onto craft bins so I could take a bag to the local art centre. So much tidying.
I believe I am done for the night. On to bed. Perhaps tomorrow I’ll have a go at the bedroom and actually figure out how to plug in the electric blanket.
Very lightly snowing here in western Mitten State.
It was the same in the southeastern Mitten.
Celebrated Hubs BD today; it was actually last week but our daughter had a bad cold. We had broasted ribs, scalloped potatoes, broccoli, coleslaw and key lime pie for dessert. Baked a big sweet potato for daughter (being lactose intolerant she couldn’t eat the scalloped potatoes). Turned out Hubs, Bella and daughter’s friend also had some of the sweet potato, it was so yummy. oh, forgot the appetizers-shrimp cocktail.
Yesterday was Hubs one year anniversary of his stem cell transplant. So far so good.
Speaking of mittens I used the cookie cutter I got in the Secret Santa exchange, to make sugar cookies.

Well, it must’ve been!
How do you dress your sweet taters?
I’ve learned that butter, cheese, and BBQ sauce is absolutely perfect.
But I’m open to new suggestions.
Okay, moo-cow is properly bathed, cast iron is heating (with some onion chunks to sautee in butter while said metal is warming) and I may bake one of those frozen rolls BBBoo turned me onto.
Hey, it’ll be kinda like a Tx Roadhouse dinner!
OMG I still have a little thingie of their fancy cinnamon butter left over from my last indulgence with them!!

Not if you have only one roll….
I posted pics of the quiche & the moo-cow (with, yes, ONE roll @BippityBoppityBoo … ) over in the “Dinner Tonight” thread.
Fancy yogurt (basically grown-up semi-healthy pudding) for dessert.
with, yes, ONE roll
I was trying to poke fun at myself mostly, but failed. Mea culpa, forgiveness requested.
I pale when I think of how many rolls I snarf at Texas Roadhouse. Probably why I don’t dare to go more than once every four years. I choose the smallest steak just so I’ll have more room for the rolls.
Mea culpa, forgiveness requested.
Your apology, and request for forgiveness, have both been denied.
There is no reason for either.
She has very lovely eyes - so slanted!
Yeah, I think she may be part Persian, with the flatter face and almond eyes.
