Planted out a second blueberry (different variety, different fruiting schedule). We’ll see if both can claw their way through the clay soil. They ought to like it, but who knows? Moved a dahlia and violas to the tiny front porch; trying out a pot of tricolor sage, fernleaf dill, and Greek oregano there to see if it’s too crowded/too sunny. Much planting of little stuff (a different variety of rudbeckia, a tiny eucalypt, moving the thyme so I could plant the blueberry, Thai basil). I’ve set up a trellis (actually two trellises jammed together as an anti-wind measure) and tonight we’ll plant the clematis. It’s looking pretty nice! In fall we’ll scatter some grass seed to see if we can take the back yard back over with the desirable weed rather than many much hardier local weeds.
Howdy Y’all! Laundry got laundered and put where it stays until it gets dirty again. I was exhaustated, so nappage ensued. We tidied up the dresser drawers as they had gotten all unsheveled. It is too a word spell check! I made it up. Beerverages were consumed out by the cee-mint pond and we got sprinkled on. Our dos got damp. We et an early sup of leftovers and chillage has commenced. Thus are things in swampland.
I’m so glad Pilot was here to give you a clear explanation about what is happening to you. I had one experience with BCC 30 years ago.
It hurt and I’m a weenie so I started acting like I am allergic to the sun. Hubs refused to listen and is constantly getting pieces cut off his bald head and the top of his ears. Currently he has stitches in the back of his head.
I’m saying all that to say that skin cancer is easy to treat and doctors are so used to cutting little pieces off of people for biopsies that they have so much experience it isn’t funny. I’m sure all will go well, plus hubs says that now they put a topical numbing salve on him before giving him the shot full of numbing stuff.
I’ll keep you in my thoughts.
What a nice guy
I’ve been getting pissed off on a daily basis, but that one just really pushed me over the edge. It’s not like it is something that will ever directly affect me or even anyone I know except for Robin and Robin isn’t a friend, she’s just someone I see (and chat with sometimes) at the gym. I think it is the petty spitefulness of this whole thing.
Plus, I want kids to grow up healthy and well educated so they can have good jobs and help fund my retirement.
Most dishwashers have a sanitizing setting. We run the sanitizing settings on our appliances once a month and I can tell that the dishwasher gets really hot and stays hot for a while. That should work to melt away all of the grease.
She was so good with the littles, she could get them from dangling their feet in the water to leaping into her arms in half an hour. The parents were always having to stop the kids from screaming ROBIN!!! and running as fast as the could on the slippery, wet concrete.
I don’t blame Hubs at all, we’ve been married long enough that he could tell that I was steaming before I even started yanking buckets and vinegar out. It’s all good, there are times that I go off and hide as well.
Harry told us that someone saw a bear three miles away and across the river. This led to much discussion as to the wisdom of putting our bin out last night or doing it at 0600. We put it out last night as did a few of our neighbors. No bears feasted.
I hope you adjust soon, but still remember to take a break now and then.
Are you going to sort his stuff or leave it in his piles and transfer the piles to the shelves. And then later try to sort a pile at a time? That used to be the only way I could do anything with Hub’s paper piles.
Then we got a paper shredding cat along with a male who would pee on papers on the floor when he got a UTI. Hubs got a whole lot better about keeping his books, papers and other detritus organized.
I laughed just imagining it, thank you.
(I do hope the big run and vacuum wasn’t caused by a zoomie related plant incident.)
All of my signs look like they were hand written in a moment of anger. I might want to plan ahead as well.
Thank you for continuing to join in.
Well, dang it. I thought you were smarter than this. You know better than to say something like that where the universe will see it.
I’d call the driver. If he says he needs more money to deliver, it is a scam, so do be careful.
I certainly do hope you sleep better with your new breathing machine.
So I’ve been wanting screens on my french doors and today Hubs went to Lowes and came home with a set. They were a quarter of an inch too long which we only learned while trying to install the second one. Dang it.
He’s also been playing vehicle tetris because he can’t decide when his new toy needs to live. He wants it somewhere easy to hop on at a whim, so the brick shed won’t work for reasons. He doesn’t want a car blocking it from getting out so now he’s moved it into the car port next to the house and put my car in the RV port, in front of the trailer and his car is parked at the end of the driveway at the RV gate.
My tomatoes are looking very peaked, they aren’t thriving and haven’t grown any new leaves. The interwebz say they are getting too much water so we are guessing we might need to dig them up and then mix some sand into the soil for better drainage. (We did put a layer of rocks on the bottom and then a layer of gravel, that always worked in AZ…but we aren’t in AZ anymore.)_
Container growing in AZ was simple because I controlled everything. Not so much here, LOL!!!
I put my fushia on the plant pole by the hummer nest and it is already rewarding me with flowers. The hummers just love it and I’m seeing butterflies flitting around.
My baby lemon tree just lvoes being outside. When I first got it it had 14 leaves. Yes, I did count them often and was so thrilled when they grew a few more leaves in January. Now every time I look at it, there are more leaves and it is standing straight and its trunk doesn’t bend half way over in heavy wind.

It’s looking pretty nice!
It sounds lovely!

Most dishwashers have a sanitizing setting.
That’s what the Finish cleaner recommended, so that’s what I used. Pretty amazing!

You know better than to say something like that where the universe will see it.
You’re not the boss of me! Neither is the universe, so just shut it!
And, really, it wasn’t a huge surprise. I knew the size of the covers when I ordered them and I was pretty sure I could do what I did.
Tomorrow, I’ll find out how well FCD did with the pieces he cut out for me. He’s got to take his car in for servicing and I’ll get the sewing started while he’s gone. Worst case, I’ll have to modify my approach, but I’ve got extra fabric so no worries.
Early supper was leftovers, removing 4 containers from the fridge. There’s one small container with peas-n-carrots, so we did pretty well clearing stuff out. Tomorrow, we can start accumulating leftovers again!
Meanwhile, I’m going to do some pedaling, then chillage shall ensue.
I took Bob to the dog park this afternoon and it was just me, him and this one other guy with a little puppy on a leash. Bob went over to say hi and the guy told me it was the puppy’s first day out on a walk, let alone at a dog park. He was a cute, friendly little guy. The dog, not the owner … but he wasn’t bad looking … I digress. I asked his dog’s name and he said, “J Double-O”.
“Hey, J Double-O, who’s a good boy …” and off I go to run around with Bob.
Then it struck me. J Double-O? His dog’s name is Joo? I’m not really sure which way that could go.

Went to the bank and then to the grocery (a very old term that means. . .grocery).
I’m back from PT and am sore. I do have exercises to do for homework. I’m still getting the run around from my LOA / short term disability company. That means that I’m going to have to dip into savings for bills until they get their poop in a group.
Now to put my heating pad on.
I had a bad, wheezing cold, and my left foot was periodically hurting. I went to sleep last night noticing that my wheezing was working in time with my pulse.
I went to the doc today, and she looked me over. Gave me a scrip for Amoxicillin. So, I’m back home. I took a break from working on a jigsaw puzzle to come in here to type this to you. Oh, calm down! It’s no big deal.
The reporter on the radio is telling us about captive axolotls surviving in the wild after being released, despite no training from their parents about fending off predators. I’m not sure what they could have taught them, but it would have been cool to teach axolotls to use atlatls to defend themselves, or to even become predators themselves. I just checked, and I was surprised to find I had spelled the animal correctly.
I wonder if there are gambling pools based on who is chosen for the next pope, and/or how long it will take.
My relative’s trip to the hospital turned out okay. LSL Guy, and Cat Glove, I hope your (separate) dermatological adventures turn out well, too.
My legs are getting jittery, I’m gonna go walk around some. Be well, be safe, and don’t forget to be You!
It would be interesting if someone forgot to be themselves.
I took Sticky’s advice and tried calling the driver, but it went to voicemail. I then called the complex office, but nobody answered, so I left a VM. Then I got a text from Kohl’s saying my package from them had been delivered, and when I went to get it, the C-PAP box was there, so all’s well that ends well.
It just occurred to me that I’m dog-sitting tomorrow evening through Friday, and Ms. Dog sleeps on the bed and goes into Full Alert if I so much as turn my head, so not sure how well she’ll do with the machine stuff.
Oh, the package from Kohl’s containis Christmas presents. I figured I’d better try to beat the tariffs, and Kohl’s was having a sale. Not that I have all the presents figured out yet!

(I do hope the big run and vacuum wasn’t caused by a zoomie related plant incident.)
I didn’t hear any thuds or yelling, but then, it could have been a small plant and a very chill owner. It sounds like a large cat. I wonder if it could be a Maine coon.

All of my signs look like they were hand written in a moment of anger.
You say that like it’s a bad thing. I think it adds immediacy. Rage away, sistah! Rage against the machine! Rage, rage against the dying of the light! Rage like our lives depend on it!

Thank you for continuing to join in.
It’s the only way I can deal with my own rage. I’ve screamed, “THIS is what. democracy looks like!” a hundred times, and I still can’t get all the rage out even temporarily.
One of my fuschia isn’t going to make it. I don’t now why, but I’m going to have to get a replacement. Maybe I can walk to the garden store yet today.

Most dishwashers have a sanitizing setting. We run the sanitizing settings on our appliances once a month and I can tell that the dishwasher gets really hot and stays hot for a while.
TIL. I"ve been using tablets for an occasional deep-cleaning, probably the same ones MetalMouse is using. My dishwasher setting says “High Temp,” not “sanitizing.” I never thought of using it to KO incipient mold. I thought it was for washing baby bottles or something. So thanks! Sometimes it DOES take a ton of bricks falling on my head.

You’re not the boss of me!
I hope someday in the very distant future, this is on your tombstone. It’d be perfect!
J-Double-O is a Korean name meaning “precious.” (not that I k new this. I looked it up.) Maybe that’s why he called the dog Joo but then realized he’d better spell it out each time. I’d just change his name to Harold or something. So glad you and Bob got to cavort at the dog park!
I got to the library. There was the latest Rolling Stone. Lil Wayne on the cover.
I am now eating my beloved dorito salad.
Am I the only one who heard the news that the new President of Germany was named Fred Merz, immediately thought “Please, God, let his wife’s name be Ethel!”
nellie - I hope those Christmas presents didn’t include 30 dolls and 250 pencils…
I crack me up!
I nappe. Spot licked my head. I dreamed I was on the beach watching a bunch of empty cargo ships steam into port. I had Rory my old Grand Cherokee with me.

The whole thing seems like a giant pain in the neck,
If your neck hurts, you’re wearing it too low. But I hope it helps.

I don’t have a tracking number.
Call the machine company, they have it.

No bears feasted.
< swampy and OYKW dislike this post >

J Double-O?
J-OO!
J-OO
J, me say J, me say J-OO…
J-OO come, me wan go home..
Walk the dog instead of drinking rum,
J-OO come, and me wan go home!
Daylight come, and I want go home.
Walk the dog instead of drinking rum!
J-OO, Come, I want go home.
Throw stuffed banana till daylight come!
J-OO come, me wan go home!

Fred Merz, immediately thought “Please, God, let his wife’s name be Ethel!”
Now I do, and welcome!

All of my signs look like they were hand written in a moment of anger.
Well, < gestures everywhere >

I just checked, and I was surprised to find I had spelled the animal correctly.
My people!!!
Interesting about the axolotis surviving.

I wonder if there are gambling pools based on who is chosen for the next pope, and/or how long it will take.
You are joking, right? Of course there are and the time will be counted to the millisecond.

Be well, be safe, and don’t forget to be You!
It’s so nice to always be able to be me now that I’m retired. Because I used to have to turn into someone else as soon as I fobbed into work. That person was a hard working, motivated team play who really cared about the mission.

Then I got a text from Kohl’s saying my package from them had been delivered, and when I went to get it, the C-PAP box was there, so all’s well that ends well.
Hurray that there was no delivery drama. I hope it does help.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light!
“Vote like your rights depend on it!” was my sig on several political boards before November. Maybe I should start rage scrawling that on poster board again.
I will not be silenced, my outrage won’t allow that.
I’m sorry about your fushia, it used to be that I would buy a fushia every spring and put it in a shady spot and baby it until it died in less than a month. This one has lasted almost a whole month and looks happy and healthy. I’m loving it.

“Please, God, let his wife’s name be Ethel!”
Not now, I love it!!!

Well, < gestures everywhere >
That’s actually why I am so incoherent sometimes. Where to start? Thank Gaia that I have the forest to calm my soul. I’ve been doing a whole lot of calming lately.
Juries are done. Lessons are done. Still have to finish grades and some other admin stuff, but I can do all that at home.
No rehearsal tonight because symphony season is done.
Life is good. Or at least less busy.

Am I the only one who heard the news that the new President of Germany was named Fred Merz, immediately thought “Please, God, let his wife’s name be Ethel!”
No. No you are not.
Nelson has been a bit clingy since I’ve been home from PT. Poor baby, he may think that I abandoned him for a couple of hours.
Sis and BIL will be here for a day this weekend on the way up to Dad’s. They’ll have all of the dogs with them. They’re also bringing a new air mattress to keep here for BIL to sleep on (the one that I have is getting older and doesn’t hold air as well as it used to).
nellie, I’m glad you got your package!
Jaccob Slavin, the second “C” stands for OT goal!

This seems as good a place to drop this as any.
LOL
And a good late evening all. Actually had a pretty full day, started with the meeting I attended in place of the soccer league commissioner, lasted about an hour, asked one question and added a few things for the minutes so didn’t embarrass myself. Some reps from Chic-fil-A were there to pitch them coming out to the fields when we have activities with their food and drink to sell, and they will rebate 15% of their sales to the group that hosts them. I don’t eat there, but they did bring waffle potato chips and chocolate chip cookies, so I did indulge. After getting home I decided to get the lawn mowed as the threat of rain the next few days has increased, so got that done, it was a black sheep day for clippings (three bags full) and have them at the curb for pickup. Was going to go to the gym after that, but noticed the Barcelona-Inter Milan soccer game was on so decided to watch it (glad I did, it was a great game, went to overtime). By the time that completed, it was time to change and head to the soccer field, where all 7 of the boys were there, so got them all as much playing time as possible. And after that, stopped at the gym for some late-evening calorie-burning, so didn’t get home to my Mac-n-Cheese until after 9pm. Am now vegging a bit and will head off to slumberland here shortly. Drs. appointment is at 10:30am so need to fast until then.
And connecting to the scroll key…
Taters, you take much more care of your yard than I do. I let Tru-green put the chemicals on it and I mow it more or less on schedule, and that’s about all that gets done.
Pilot, I have a spot on my hand that corresponds to your BCC description, will ask the Doc tomorrow to take a look at it.
Cookie, hope the hip does better with treatment.
flyboy, I have been to Lakehurst Air Station and have stood in the spot where the Hindenburg crashed and burned. Not much there, the Air Station was/is still pretty much a government post so you need permission to visit so only a small plaque marked the spot, but I can say I was there.
nellie, glad the C-PAP made it. And cats + zoomies often equal havoc (dogs + zoomies always equals havoc… And Xmas presents this early; I’ve heard of planning ahead but…
FCM, sounds like the stitchin’ is going well.
lily, good luck with your yard labors.
JtC, glad you did not have to bear any bear visitors. And sounds like your green thumb is working pretty well, just like lily’s.
J-Bats, interesting name for a dog…and I like nellie’s explanation. Don’t know if she’s right, but interesting information nonetheless.
{{red}}, hope they get their act together soon for you. And enjoy the family get-together, I’m sure Nelson will.
Knots, as JtC notes, there is gambling on everything. Evidence: Conclave sparks millions of dollars in wagers on next pope -- with one clear frontrunner leading the pack
Boogie Woogie (I just made that up), thanks for the grin, hadn’t paid that much attention to German politics lately, but very well-played.
Pavo, enjoy those slothful moments, they will not last forever (at least until you retire…)
Coach, thanks for the additional grin.
Ok, it just hit 11pm and no nappage today, so off to bed I go. Catch y’all on Hump day.
