(Old) Wait - what time is it in the MMP?

Ziva peed and pooped in front of FCD’s closet. That’s 3 or 4 non-box poops in the last week. Not normal, and not something I can deal with along with MIL. She’s 16, so this could be a sign of her decline. If it happens again…

I thought so, and I told her that too.

We’ve never tried walnut shell litter. None of our cats liked clay litter, so we switched to Feline Pine. They liked that, but it was a mess to clean the litter boxes. For years we’ve been using Arm & Hammer Slide litter. Goo and Abbey (and previously, Tonka and Creamsicle) have no problem with it. (Do they ‘like’ it? Who can say? But they use it.) The Slide litter is much easier for Catmom to clean. Catmom just ordered a couple of large boxes from Chewy, since it was on sale. (When I buy it, it’s from PetSmart.)

Howdy Y’all! We et at the hog trough GC and then accomplished nappage. Then we day drank. I just don’t know how we keep up such a fast paced life! In a while it will be Netflix, chill and popcorn time. All this activity makes my head spin. Of course that could also be the martinis.

OMG! I’ve been subjected on a talk about how MIL’s incontinence pads make her size 6 pants too small. I’m not going to ask how many pads she wears and where she puts them. And as an added bonus, I got to hear about FIL’s pads, too. Lucky me.

They both wanted fried chicken for supper so I’m having it delivered from the deli. Makes it easy on me. So there’s that.

Previous cats had no problem with the walnut shell stuff. And it was environmentally friendly. Sadie hasn’t poked her head out from under the bed yet today, so we’ll see how it goes.

Hooray!
I have been inducing chaos in my house. I’m working on moving things around so that there will be room for my bed under the stairs. I’m also working on trying to get rid of crap. I wish it was easier and I was less apt to terrify the dog as I was doing it making so much noise.

A good late afternoon to all. Did some serious sweating at the gym, since I’ll be busy watching Tackleball on Amazon tonight, so will spend the evening (5:30pm and it’s already dark) slothing and catching up on my reading. Need to get the Firday shopping list organized and plan for the trip to the Golden Corral for an early lunch (thanks for the idea, swampy). A warm day, it’s still 74F outside and comfortable inside, looks like my gas heating bill will get another month of reasonable costs.

Have not been to either of those places…yet…but really so need to put Central Europe on my ‘to-do’ travel list.

flyboy, that is a great photo. Kudos to the Mrs.

FCM, sounds like you got a lot accomplished, hope the blister doesn’t bother you.

wet one, the only Pony we have here in N. Ali-bama is a strip club, so meeting there is contraindicated…and your pony is 380 miles from me, so sorry about that.

Cookie, good luck with your fickle feline.

And time to get my nightly meal prepared. Take care all.

My crew uses world’s best. I used feline pine until they changed just a bit.

:people_hugging:

Awww…I hope that a change up in the litter does the trick.

TGIT! Irked, came home, dog parked (dayum, but it’s getting dusk early) and et. Such excitement!

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Not the most peaceful nap. Spot tried to crawl under the covers, but the comforter got stuck on his cranium, so instead of going under, he just slowly uncovered me, exposing me to the elements. Plus he was dreaming and twitching on my head. Having a Royal Hawaiian and watching hockey.

“It is our circus and those are our monkeys”

Pink Pony was Gordie’s favorite toy. He like to …appreciate her.

“I like to have a martini,
Two at the very most.
After three I’m under the table,
after four I’m under my host.” - Dorthy Parker

Just finished 45-ish minutes on the bike.

I need to figure out my Thanksgiving menu and start shopping. There will either be 3, 6, or 7 of us, depending on whether Daughter’s gang comes and if SIL has to work. Regardless, I plan to smoke one bird and roast another. There will be many future meals.

Ziva came out from under the bed for scritches - we’ll see if she uses her bed tonight. I’m wondering if the change of food upset her - I’d forgotten what I bought last time. Maybe I’ll try something else for her. I have an appointment with my dermatologist tomorrow and I can run to the store after.

For now, tho, chillage.

@Zyada sweetheart, I am so sorry.

Monkey has slunk quietly out of the chat.

I am soooo happy!!! Our daughter and friend arrived about 7:30ish. Daughter introduced friend to Hubs. I had made all the fixings for chicken tacos so then they all came into the kitchen to make their chicken tacos the way they like. After finished eating, friend said Daughter and I have something to share:
They’re going to move to the Mitten as soon as friend finds a job and has an interview on Monday!!!

OK, I’m back to being a kinder, gentler human. Still angry and worried, but those are signs I’m still a decent human being, I think…I hope.

 My sister, like our oopsie, volunteers as a poll worker every year. She has a wonderful husband. When she came home, he had an ice cold martini waiting for her. Greater love hath no man…she hadn’t eaten all day, so whoosh! Right to her head.

Can’t you take the “lie back and think of England” approach and plan shopping lists or name all 50 states or something?

flyboy, that’s a phenomenal photo! I hope it’ll be framed and hung in your home. Seriously, if I saw that in a shop, I’d buy it.

catglove! So glad to see you again!

I just found a photo on Ancestry, and it made me smile. It’s of my dad and some of his classmates. Apparently he was president of his eighth grade class. He looks so happy! There’s something so sweet about seeing a parent as a happy child, isn’t there?

I didn’t know he’d been class president. But then, I didn’t know he’d played trombone until I was 18 and found his high school year book:

In music he shone
on his trusty trombone.

I’d love to read about nice little things you found out about your parents after you were grown.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

43 monkeys or 43 cats is an equal amount of chaos.

Yay!

Welcome back, nellie!

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 8c/46f with no predicted change, and mostly cloudy. Weather app says “I often give zero fucks on days like today. Apparently, fucking Mother Nature also gives zero fucks”.

Today would have been my dad’s 95th birthday, it’s strange to think that he died 40 years ago although I am not sure what he would have thought of the world we find ourselves in today.

Friday’s excitement is a change of office location for me. We were asked if anyone could look after the English Dept’s admin office for the day as they’d got no staff available to be on campus. It’s only two floors down from my usual office so I thought it would be fun to have a different perspective! The office is nice enough, I’ve got my laptop connected to both screens so I can see what I’m doing, but it’s not quite perfect. Never mind, it’s only for one day. There’s no keyboard so I’m typing on my laptop and seeing it on the big screen. Bit odd, but I can survive that for a day.

Happy Friday, everyone!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’.*Yawn * ‘Tis 71 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 81 and cloudy. High RDOS activities are the order of the day. No where we want or need to be. Sup shall be chikin nachos just cause.
D
MOOOOOOM I started thinkin’ about Turkey Day last night. We are hostin’ a feast for eight here in da cave. I already have the bird. Guess we should plan the menu.

Cat_Glove great news about your daughter!

MetalMouse enjoy your pigout at the GC.

doggio one martini, two martini, three martini, floor!

nellie sis’s hub is a keeper!

BooFae hope the temporary change of office doesn’t overwhelm you too much.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Firday Y’all!

I dunno - it’s easier to get all riled up then explode! :stuck_out_tongue: There are times (many times) I do just that, but every once in a while something clicks. Sorry. I’ll blur future bitching, but this is the only place I can let it out.

Somewhere (probably with my sister) there’s a photo of my dad at age 10 with his accordion (which has long since deteriorated.) I always got a kick out of seeing it. He was a very talented musician and I like to think I inherited a bit of his gift.

This is always tough for me because I remember my grandmother’s table and it’s difficult to not make certain things because she always did. On the other hand, I can make corn any time, but for some reason, I don’t do sweet potatoes all that often. Guess I need to think in terms of what leftovers am I willing to put up with.

Today is my annual bodily once-over. Ever since I had the little cancer removed from my scalp, I go in to have everything checked. They measure the larger moles (which haven’t changed in years) and if there’s something in particular that I’m concerned about, that gets a good look, too.

And as it happens, their office is just past the thrift store, so I can get rid of the small appliances that I dug out of the cabinet from hell. Then I can run to the Charlotte Hall Food Lion since it’s in the neighborhood. I love when I can combine errands.

And, of course, it’s also laundry day - woo and hoo! I think it’s a 4 load day - I had to take the tablecloth and placemats off after the grands were here for supper.

Speaking of grands, FCD asked about their Christmas break. I know Roxy has 2 weeks off, but I don’t know about Tobias. And I don’t know if Daughter will need me to herd them. I’ll have to broach the subject - I’m sure she hasn’t thought about it.

We’re promised a spring-like today and Moanday, but the rest will be more autumnal, bordering on winter-like, and I think this is the end of our warmish days till spring. But we’ll have to see. I remember a Christmas in my youth when it was 76° (weird the details we remember for decades.) No gonna waste any more brainpower on that stuff for now. I need to make that turkey-day list.

Happy Firday!!

Good news! As noted above, we put Sadie’s food in the bathroom near her litter box. This is the master bath in our bedroom. When we went in for the night, we closed the bedroom door so she couldn’t go elsewhere else in the apartment. I dozed off and awakened to the sweet sound of litter being clawed at. She peed twice in her box during the night! So hopefully she has figured things out and we will be able to keep her. Fingers crossed!
