(Old) Waking up to White Stuff in the MMP

Murder hasn’t been ruled out.

I agree with both of those things. Will Ms Peach be a neck warmer in the winter?

Wow, that sounds so good, I’m glad you went.

Makes note to keep darts away from glass french doors. (Yeah, I can see how that would do it, small impact point from a heavy and fast moving object tends to make things notice.)

In the mornings, my room is the coldest room in the house despite the heavy drapes over the french doors and windows. I was still blaming the doors until I noticed that some kitty always moves something - rug, basket or bed- over the floor vent.

I’m fairly sure it’s Jolene, she’s wicked smart, but George isn’t a slouch when it comes to comfort seeking.

So, we are going back to Huntington tomorrow morning. Hubs finally capitulated because I told him that unless he moved to get medical care, I would stop doing his chores for him and he’s almost out of clean under ware.

He says it feels like it did last time, so at least I’m not worrying about blood clots, its just cellulitis again.

As usual, I dealt with stress by taking up needle and pipe.

I’ve started the Watermelon bit in the series now, all of the prep work is done. Same designer, none of those stoopid stars.

I bought a lot of purse pieces when I got so upset over the tariffs, I’m sad that I’m using them for his health issues. I wanted to use them at parks and such.

Now that they are outright murdering protesters, I’m planning on making James sit in my car and watch. Someone needs to be left to tell the tale.General strike on the 20th, stay home and don’t go to work, don’t spend money. Go out and hold a sign. Shits gone past real now.

Ms Peach has now chomped another pair of glasses. I’m rather irked. I left her alone for all of 5 minutes.

She always looks like that. And huggable is difficult with 45 lbs of wiggle.

JtC Good on you for fighting the good fight. It is so sad that it’s come to this.

Managed to get to the store and buy some healthy foods.
It’s not exactly my New Year’s resolution to try to eat better. It’s more because I’m trying to improve my health, and this just happened to be the time of year for it.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s currently 43 degrees Ferret Height out(6.11 Centipedes) outside, and foggy.

No school today and no work for MusicMan. He has a VA appointment in Columbus. I have a local doctor’s appointment. Unfortunately the timing is off enough that I won’t be able to go with him for the afternoon. And while I’d like to, I do have work stuff to get done this weekend so I’ll probably be doing it.

MG, I hope you feel better soonest.

I have woken up to white stuff in my distant past, but it was not snow. It was more of a powder lined up on a table

It does snow in my country, just not nearby, at least an hour drive to get to the mountains

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 2c/35f with a predicted high of 3c/37f and cloudy. Weather app says “No fucking sun for you!” Clearly not, it’s grey out there today. We have a snow and ice weather warning in place today, it was meant to be until 9am but it’s been extended to midday.

Let’s hope it was nothing more than that. Sounds like a good idea to wait for daylight before you have a look out there!

A string of rather weird things. Do you have any young-ish neighbours or ones with visiting kids who might have thought up some pranks? Definitely odd goings-on…maybe you’ve got a haint!

It’s more of an inside door, they have an enclosed porch with a sliding door and then the main door to the house. I’m inclined to think it’s just old age  I think he said it was in the house when his family moved there and that would be over 60 years ago.

Happy anniversary, Herald!

Old age, wear and tear is the most likely answer. The glass rattles a bit every time you pull the door closed and it’s quite likely around 60 years old so eventually it’s weakened enough to shatter.

We had about 4” in total which is quite a lot for us since we’re not usually in a snowzone. It’s caused a lot of problems - there are no local train services running this morning, and services might not even start until mid-afternoon. My minion who lives on the other side of Brum said they’ve got no bus services at all. I could probably build a very small midge-size igloo if I was inclined to stick my nose outside, which I am not

Sounds like a very fancy dinner, and if you enjoyed it then why not?

So yesterday was a fun day. I left work early (as advised by senior management) because the incoming storm had the train operators threatening delays and cancellations from mid-afternoon. By the time I got home, we had heavy rain so I got in the car and nipped up to the pet store to get some extra cat litter and food for Muffin in case I couldn’t get there at the weekend. By the time I got home, it was sleet and turned to snow shortly afterwards. Looks like we had about 4” in total overnight but it’s already starting a very slow melt. The road is slushy but there’s very little traffic going up and down the street. The pavements don’t get cleared so the few people I’ve seen out there have been walking in the road too.

We had an optimistic message from work saying that campus was open and it would be great if people could get in to keep the offices open. We said a collective polite “piss off” to that idea. There’s not much public transport running and I am not inclined to venture out if I don’t need to.

Thus today will be a quiet day irking at home for me. ‘im indoors is talking about going to his gym (mine’s shut) because his is generally unstaffed so they don’t tend to close unless it’s being shut for deep cleaning. I have no plans to go anywhere, my only plan is to make chicken curry for dinner tonight.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 58 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 77 and mostly cloudy. Tomorrow looks to be a rainy day. I shall deal with candle duty and setup for a funeral tomorrow afternoon. One of our Luteruns, who had been ill for some time, died on December 28th. He was one of my favorite people and will be missed. RIP Tom. The rest of the day will be spent in RDOS inactivities as is our wont. Sup will be majik intartoobz pizza and sallit, just cause.

MG good for you and your attempt to eat healthy. We try to, but don’t always succeed.

BooFae I say you made the right decision to WFH today.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, I suppose I must purtify. Since I will be by myself at least I can get away with Tshirt, sweatpants and sneakers for attire.

Happy Firday Y’all!

For no good reason in particular, I wonder about the boys next door. Ben is divorced and I think he shares custody, tho I’ve been seeing the kids more frequently of late. I have no valid reason to suspect them. Dunno…

Waaaaay back when we were living in Jacksonville, FL, we got all of half an inch of snow one night, and there was a general freak-out. There was no equipment to treat the roads and those who ventured out had no clue how to drive in slippery conditions. It had all melted away by noon, but the morning commute provided lots of work to local body shops. So, yeah, 4" in an area that doesn’t typically have to deal with it isn’t like 4" in an area where snow is common. Just be safe!! Staying put is an excellent plan!

At long last I had a really good sleep. Apart from one quick potty trip, I slept thru till nearly 6!! How odd to feel all rested and human and stuff!! I also had a dream about our long-gone MMP founder RueDeDay! He came to visit me at my house (which in the dream wasn’t my actual house) and he installed 4 pairs of light switches on the 4 walls of a room. They all controlled the same light, and some were installed so high that I could barely reach them on tiptoe. No clue what inspired that dream.

It’s Laundry Day again!! And I meet with our money guy this afternoon to discuss how to get more $$$ in my hands. It’s forecast to be rainy starting this evening and continuing into tomorrow. It’s overcast and the light outside has a reddish cast to it - almost eerie. Thus starts my day.

Happy Firday.

Good morning! It’s 61 degrees out there, and WINDY. 23 mph, enough to bring a wind advisory from the teetering remains of the National Weather Service. My leg cramps woke me up early. I did 30 minutes on the stationary bike yesterday, and that usually prevents cramps for a few days. Not this time.

EmilyG, Hello! Welcome back.

I took the time to go through the 16 episodes of Bitchin’ Rides on the DVR, deleting most of it, which I had already seen. We’ll see if it fills it up again. I don’t know if they’re still making that show. Then we watched a PBS American Experience about fighting smog. That’s smog, the pollution, not Smaug, the Middle Earth dragon.

Good morning. The wet stuff was coming down in sheets this morning, so no walking. I so have my power vinyasa in a couple of hours, so I get to keep moving today. Fang just texted us and told us that he’s at the doctor’s office for trouble breathing. He’s twenty-two and an Army officer, but we’re still concerned for him. He also learned a big difference between Army and civilian doctors - The first words out of a civilian doctor’s mouth when they see you will not be, “Wow. You look like shit.” He thinks he has a flu. (Grumble grumble. He probably didn’t get a flu shot - he’s a needle-phobe.)

Squeaky asked if we could go to the new In-and-Out for dinner tonight. I told him we could try, but I told him we’re not waiting an hour for (from what I’ve heard) a burger that is… not bad.

And now, the doggo needs to go out. Yay, rain!

Good morning.

It’s 43F and cloudy outside. We’ll have varying degrees of cloudiness throughout the day with a daytime high of 51F. So, yet again, no white stuff, damn it.

Other than a slight bit of closet decluttering and kitchen tidying, nothing productive was accomplished yesterday.

Happy Anniversary, Herald! That sounds like a lovely dinner!

I hope you’re feeling better today, Van Go. Hopefully, Ms. Peach will soon settle down past the puppy stage. Mine have finally settled down enough that I don’t have to worry about everything becoming chompable. However, socks and paper products seem to be fair game. If they manage to get hold of tissues, paper towels, or loose socks, the game is on.

Welp, that’s about all that is happening here in my corner of the world. I guess I’ll finish my coffee and look at real estate.

55 degrees. A front is coming with high winds and dropping to high 30s later. Am off to get groceries.

Chances are that he didn’t have a choice of whether or not to take a flu shot (or any other vaccination, for that matter). This year’s version may have missed the mark.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP. Everything else is same old stuff today.

True - He’s said he’s getting over his needle issue through “exposure therapy,” but he’s still not going to give blood.

So it seems - all my family in the Baltimore area seem to have dealt with it to varying degrees, and they’ve all been vaccinated. We’ve been spared (she says as she worries about jinxing herself…)

Second load in the washer, first in the dryer. I’m making a list of accounts and balances to take with me when I go see Dave this afternoon. FCD got the key to the paint barn so we can go over tomorrow and Sunday and I can paint the window frames.

I finally spoke to a real person at GEICO and I’m able to access my account. I’ve also discovered that I’ve got the best deal that I’m going to get - USAA was about $500 more a year for the same coverage. I got higher numbers from Progressive also. So I’m staying put.

Must be nice to be rich enough that you can hire someone else can deal with such mundane matters as paying bills. Or so I imagine.

Morning all. Did my Firday shopping run early, no problems except like Maus it is raining here and according to the Weather Wizards it will continue to rain (with a 50-90% chance) all day and night and into Sattiday morning. So indoor activities will be the order of the day. Had an apple and an Entenmann’s apple pie to break my fast so belly is happy for a little bit.

And I found out that I was nominated by my region for a “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the Area AYSO Soccer Organization (represents most of the SE United States). Very proud of this, but the recognition and (possible) win will be recognized in Chattanooga during the Futsal season and coaching the kids is more important than any award. Still, it is a nice feeling to be recognized.

And time to catch up with all y’all…

Cookie, sounds like a wonderful meal and sometimes you have to ignore the bill.

JtC, good threat to get Hubs moving in the right direction. Lovely needlework. Be strong but safe.

MG, resolution or not, keep eating well and doing better. We enjoy having you around.

Sticky Buns, hope both you and Music Man’s appointments go well.

boo fae, 4" of snow would shut down my city in N. Ali-bama and we have next to none public transit so we’d all be huddled up. I understand now about the glass shattering, 60 years of use would wear on it. Stay at home and be safe.

swampy, RIP to friend Tom.

FCM, my bladder usually gets me up about 2am or so, but then leaves me alone until about 7am or so, which is my usual wake time. And in your dream you have finally seen the light! More serious, glad you finally got the insurance straight.

Knots, hope you de-cramp soon. They are miserable things.

Maus, best wishes to Son. And you have In-and-Out there in Tennessee! Maybe there is hope for N. Alabama in the future.

And that’s all for the morning report. Catch up with y’all later.

Back on loading 200 Bottom Blue. Apparently there was less volume than the load sheets said. I stopped at Teeter and bought a sack of potatoes, and some dried mangoes for my oatmeal. Laundry’s in the dryer, so naptime.

{{{{swampy}}}}

So say we all!

Gordie settled down at age 10.

except by the FBI.

I was looking at the forecast for tomorrow, and I read pounding in this line:

Rain, becoming heavy at times; there can be ponding on streets and highways

It confused me. I guess it’s about time for an eye exam.

Goodness knows it wore on me!!

Third load in the washer, one more to go. I’ve gathered all the monetary numbers I think I’ll need when I go see Dave.

Thank you, all.

As for white stuff, we’ve had snow on the ground for a while. (As we usually do at this time of year up here in Canada.) Though it’s warmer and rainy today.
