Or at least less opposed to it. Not sure he really has any enthusiasm for a camera in the face.
He’s spent most of his life as an abandoned stray, living around our apartment complex. The story that has come out was that his former owner, some time around 2015 or 2016 or so, just decided she didn’t want him any more, and kicked her out of her apartment. So he’s been living in the semi-wild all those years, until last year, when he suddenly decided that he’s @Seanette’s and my cat.
It seems incomprehensible to me that as fine a cat as he is, that he’d have been just discarded in such a manner. Even after all those years in the wild, once he settled in with @Seanette and me, he clearly knows how to behave as a domesticated pet, and has settled very nicely into that role.
Just got this text from the US Postal Service:
The USPS package has arrived at the warehouse and cannot be delivered due to incomplete address information. Please confirm your address in the link.

(Please reply to 1, then exit the SMS, open the SMS activation link again, or copy the link to Safari browser and open it)
The US Postal team wishes you a wonderful day!
Funny, the phone number was prefixed by ‘44’. I didn’t know the USPS had an office in the UK. (Also, we don’t say SMS here. We say ‘text’.)
I have a sneaking suspicion the text was some sort of scam…
The up side is that I’ve decided that Miralax shall henceforth be called Mar-A-Lago, and the Florida residence Mir-A-Lax. Seems appropriate, somehow.
Happy Thorsday!
It’s 91 feels like 97 outside and supposed to get hotter.
Also supposed to have thunder boomers later.
Misiu is mostly better. I think one more aspirin this afternoon and his bout of FSF will be over.
Rayleigh took his bandage off last night. It’s okay he did as we could take it off last night, we were going to wait until morning though. He’s leaving his foot alone and as long as he behaves, we won’t make him wear the cone.
Rayleigh looks so much like Ripple. He lays the same weird way, with his right hip in the floor, and a slight twist so the left shoulder is on the floor. It looks like his tail is going to go to the left, same as Ripple’s.
They are so big.
I had trouble getting everybody to bed last night, so I am sleep deprived today.
I woke up and thought it was 515, so I was taking my time getting ready. It was actually 615, and I needed to be out the door by 630.
My son gets a bunch of Visa gift cards from irk MetalMouse. They are a bit of a pain to use.
I can use them to pay the internet bill, or doctor bills online. Most of the bills I pay online won’t accept credit cards, it has to be a checking or savings account. His cards are mostly $20 or $25, so it takes multiple cards to pay a bill. All of them have expiration dates and I’ve let a few expire. You can get the money back, minus a fee of course.
Like you said, you can’t deposit them, you can’t use them to pay other credit cards. I can’t use them to pay the mortgage, my truck, any utilities other than internet. If they are small amounts, you need multiple cards to pay a bill, if they are large amounts, you have to keep track of the balance. Some will let you add to the balance, others won’t.
I have a stack of them now that i am whittling down.
Getting rid of them is on my ToDo list.
Happy vacationing Taters!
You certainly deserve some time off.
{{{Cookie}}}
I hope you feel better soon, and yes, one can be both at the same time.
I’ve never suffered from it, but I know others who have.
Happy and safe travels, CatGlove
Doggio, my son’s place of employment, is always looking for people, but they will sack you if you’re not up to standards. You can call in sick, but vacation needs to be approved at least 24 hours in advance.
He’s not happy that he has been taken out of selecting and put in stocking. It’s a lot more heavy lifting and you have to wear headphones that tell you how to cut open the boxes. He hates the headphones.
Sometimes he gets sent to shipping. He hates it, but they like him because he possesses that rare quality of being able to listen to and follow instructions. He also has the common sense to know that when you are loading a pallet, the heavy stuff goes on the bottom, and you can’t load boxes into an inverted pyramid shape.
He’s all pissed off about some video game bullshit going on.
I said the estate is all mess up, they are trying to rip us off, and all you care about is some girl who got fired over the phone, which it seems is illegal in South Korea, so she’s not really fired anyway.
He’s more pissed off about some game developer than our money.
Oh God, he’s talking about it again.
Just shoot me now!
Happy quilting Hippie
Beautiful kitties, Nettie and Bob
Well, it’s a nebulous thing. Wednesday is supposed to be Invite Night. You can’t play unless you have this little jpg they text to you. But then the first time I played on Invite Night I just walked in and asked if it was okay. Of course, the next time I got turned away for not having an invite. Here’s the thing … it’s a bunch of musicians … there are cliques and immaturity (me included) so it’s never a dull moment there.
The Butcher, his musical ability aside, is a really nice guy. I’m assuming that’s why he’s there.
Probably not. It’s an expensive and dangerous hobby. For that money & danger I could be hang-gliding in Katmandu or arranging to be chased around a villa in Havana by twenty 20yo Cubanas.
If I had 10 or 50x as much money & could afford a jet that’d be different. Otherwise it’s time to surrender gracefully one aspect of youth while hanging on to others for dear life.
Sounds legit to me
Some of the RW’s best output goes out that way from there.
Oh, those eyes, those blue, blue eyes!
That’s a fairly old picture. Her eyes used to be very vivid blue, as that picture shows. They’re now much less vivid, a sort of bluish grey.
Howdy Y’all! We got shorn, I got candle duty squared away, we brunched, then we went to the produce stand we like and got two bunches of collard greens which I have since cleaned. OYKW baked my cheesecake for Sattidy. We even managed to squeeze in nappage and sloth. Go Us! I decided on my bday sup. It will be chikin boobs in mushroom gravy cooked in the slow cooker, collard greens, peas/butter beans/okra cooked together, squish casserole, dressin’ (took it outta da freezer to thaw), cornbread, cranberry sauce (from the can, don’t judge!), and cheesecake with macerated (sounds dirty!) fresh strawberries. I know this does not sound like mid-Summerish food, but it’s what I want. I am even goin’ to cook a good portion of it cause I want to. It’s my party and I’ll cook if I want to! Some of y’all totally sang that last line. Yes you did!
Nettie and Bob Buddy is indeed a handsome boy. Allie is a pretty girl but looks like she wants to kill y’all in your sleep for takin’ her picture.
OK, Ima attempt to upload pics I took of the cheesecake. Here goes nuttin’.
ETA: One of these days I will figure out how to imbed a pic but today ain’t the day.
I can see what’s wrong with link 1. It just goes to your overall album. You need the link to the specific picture. For Imgur, you’ll want to be on the screen that shows the picture you’re trying to share, then hit the Share graphic at lower right, and there are several options, one of which is a pictogram of chain links. Hit that and you get what you want to paste into your message. Make sure you paste the link on a separate line in your message, and add a line break (hit Enter) after the link. Alternately, just get to the individual picture, then copy and paste the URL your browser is showing in the address bar.
Dunno what you did on the second try.
The monkey bread was good - damned addicting, too! I sent the leftovers home with Daughter and the grands.
Crisis at the school - the man who was helping to remove all the old wiring from the ceilings cut the internet lines, so the school had no access. FCD went over and cobbled together a temporary repair. On Saturday, we’ll move the modem and get the entire office area hard-wired. Not sure what the schedule for running the wires to the classrooms will entail - guess we’ll figure that out.
But now, I think I’ll mosey back to read in bed. FCD will be in his shop tomorrow, so I’ll start working on the weather cloths for the flybridge. Maybe we’ll get some boating time in after school starts.
Skimmed but didn’t retain anything. Can’t seem to brain today. Hugs to all anyway!
I meant lower left, and I do typically know left from right. Sorry about that. Grabbing the URL from the browser address bar is the simpler solution.
Evening all. Made it to the gym to pedal off about 500 calories and that was about it for the day. Got the Amazon cards from Delta sorted, they only allow you to put a maximum of $250 on one of them, so I have 4 cards to track. Spent some of it on Amazon for stuff and spent another chunk on tours for the November Cruise. Still have about $150 left, so will have to see what else I can buy in the next couple of weeks. Did manage to get the garbage can back in the garage, but at 7:30pm it’s still over 90F and I’m in no hurry to head outside anytime soon.
Nettie/BobB, thanks for the cat pictures; I’m a real cat person, but those two look great. And Allies full name…
Flyboy, know the feeling from the passenger side, landed on the far-out runway at Atlanta so we had to cross two active runways, which took us almost as long as the flight did.
nellie, hope you got your walk in.
Sari, youth has a different set of priorities than us older (and sometimes wiser) heads. Just roll with it. Glad Misiu is doing better.
swampy, that sounds like a great B-day meal. Enjoy!!
OK, onward into the evening. Might even watch a little TV tonight. Take care all.
Will they work at restaurants?
They are digital and not plastic, so I don’t think so.
Waves at everyone. I’ve read all, but my phone freaked out yesterday over me using it as a hot spot and now I’m on hotel connection so can’t reaaly respond to folks.
Boise is nice. It is green. My hotel is in the middle of a business center, in the middle of a big city. I really didn’t know how small town girl I was until I walked into the Fred Myers and saw a Zales jewelry store, just like in the malls back home. I wandered for hours on end before finding the few items I needed (OK, it took me an hour to spend 80 bucks) and I didn’t get the notepad I wanted because I wasn’t willing to slog all the way to the Back to School display I could see in the distance.
Mom laughed at me because she forgets how small town I am.
Mom is making me really sad. I’m pretty sure that I won’t see her again after this.
Today was my Dad’s birthday many years ago. He was a Marine who got wounded in Korea. The Korean conflict officially ended today many years ago. Dad died today 16 years ago.
Mom has forgotten what today is and why I came.
I am sad.
{{{Jane}}}. That is rough. Lots of anniversaries all piled up and now the big fresh one is the anniversary of your last Mom visit, at least practically speaking. Such a bad situation.
Hint: when you use the words “big city” to refer unsarcastically to Boise, you are a small town girl.
Great cat pix everyone.
Had a pleasant afternoon, probably got sunburned, definitely managed to create large low blisters on the bottoms of both heels, then home for a nap, a snack, and soon bedtime.
Add to this my Hoosier dad’s raining pitchforks and barn shovels.
cat glove, have a safe and enjoyable trip. The pierogi festival sounds like fun.
J-bats, I’ve run into some similar issues at jams and writer’s nights. Granted, sometimes I’m the low-talent bum.
{{{JtC}}} As I’ve said before, dementia’s a bitch.
I got my new phone. I was able to get it set up with my contact list, but all of my apps will need to be reinstalled (especially the rent app, given the time of the month). That’s what’s driving me nuts. The new phone is a slight upgrade from the last one and the last one is locked, meaning that I can’t just transfer data from it. The !@#$ing apps won’t allow me to type in the passwords. Oy, vey!
At irk, I got a message this afternoon that my lead was sending the second shift lead over to shadow me on whatever I was doing at the moment (there are things in the department that only I do). The evening lead has been coming in for OT hours, but not doing much and my lead just needed to get her out of her hair for a bit. I told her that there would be no real training done, since it was the last 1.5 hours of my irkweek and needed to get stuff wrapped up, and she was good with that. She thanked me for taking one for the team at break.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
