Howdy Y’all! My left arm feels like it’s gonna fall off, but I achieved nappage and have medicinal chawklit. OYKW says his arm is sore, but not it’s gonna fall off sore. Then again, I do believe he’s had more medicinal chawklit than me. Sup did get cooked and et, so there’s that. Now we await fartfest. I think goin’ to bed with Ty tonight will be wise.
Well then, you should follow his medicinal chawklit example! I like chawklit booze bombs, but I’m a big weeny who needs more medicinal excesses than most.
That’s not horrible. I mean, I wouldn’t be thrilled with that number, but it could be worse.
When I was hangin’ my bathing suit on the drying rack, I wondered if you knew that dryers kill spandex and elastic. I have a folding drying rack that lives between the dryer and freezer that I can pull out as needed for that sort of stuff.
I do not disagree, but they do things together. I’ll make two piles and GG will go start bogarting the first pile so I’ll put Jolene in front of the second one and she scampers right back to try to share GG’s pile. When he’s done, he goes to her pile and bogarts that as well. Then he chases her around and holds her down and powerwashes her face.
I’m glad you figured out what was going on with your foot, that sounds unpleasant.
We tell ours the countdown with every pill. Hard to tell who is happier when its over.
You made me go scrambling to check pics to be sure that I hadn’t gotten it mixed up!
I hope you feel better tomorrow. If it was post jab blahs…you probably will.
Is it OK if I say FUCK here? I ran into that when my medicare plan got messed up but I thought it was because the government was in charge of the COVID shots. I didn’t know they would do it over other stuff. Our medical system is just totally FOBAR’d and needs to be scrapped.
Oh, as to teaching life skills, the state hired people to teach life skills to clients who didn’t know how to fill out a job application or read their paystubs. I took a brief look at WV state jobs and didn’t see anything, but you might consider thinking about that.
So, in case anyone is interested, the Diablo expansion will open in 1 hour, 12 minutes and 7 seconds.
Din is scheduled to be on the table in 15 minutes so Hubs will have time to bolt his food (ribs, steak fries and steamed asparagus), clean up and then sit in front of his comp and push the refresh button until the expansion opens. And Battlenet starts getting overloaded and the game will be laggy and he’ll make loud unhappy noises far into the night.
1/8/24 now.
After all of that, I’m glad that you got a nice apartment.
So a Roomba for your lawn then?
Skritches!
You usually get the same stuff as I do, just a day later.
You’re a crafty sort. Have you considered teaching classes at a craft store as a side hustle? Another option could be a YT channel teaching cooking and / or crafts.
Irked, talked to my dad on the phone on the way home (yesterday was his birthday, but whenever he’d pick up my call, he couldn’t hear me. I texted his stocking aide to have her check the volume on his phone and, sure enough, it was down).
As soon as KP is done, I’ll mess around in the studio.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
It’s relatively quiet here again as the grands and their parents have gone home. Dishwasher is done. Chillage has begun. I’s tahred.
And Blizzard started “emergency maintenance” ten minutes before launch time. Hubs is very not happy. I’m reminded of the space launches when I was a kid, all of those delays and interrupted countdowns.
Seven minutes in and he’s starting to repeat himself.
I know I shouldn’t be laughing…
I’m glad it’s not completely horrible.
Duct tape?
Thank you for making me laugh. Today has been not very great. I have heard that chiropractors will do the shots sometimes. I called 18 of them today and none of them did. I also officially appealed the decision with my insurance.
Interesting ideas. I do quite a bit of cooking while sitting down in my wheeled desk chair. Maybe that could be my angle.
Oy, vey. This should go in the Pit, but y’all know my background shit better and I don’t feel like explaining all of it.
Skip if you want rainbows & unicorns.
Usually my mother’s the problem, but since I’m an only child & it’s just the three of us, it’s always, somehow, two-against-one.
I take after my dad, mostly, personality wise, but lately … man, I just dunno anymore.
Y’all my father is … declining. He’s sorta hiding it behind his - admittedly terrible - hearing loss, but it’s worse than that.
We sat down for an hour Friday with the world’s most patient Schwab guy, to update settings on my account, change how it was being managed, etc.
My dad already wanted access to the account again today (!!) which is fine, I guess, but he could not coherently explain why when I asked (“we just updated all those settings?”) and then got all mad when I asked what needed to be changed, a scant few days after sitting in that guy’s office to get all this shit updated.
He’s not being nefarious. It’s not like he’s yanking $ out.
He just wanted to “check everything was okay.” That’s what we sat there for an hour for!
He’s just declining, mentally, and his knee-jerk reaction to women anyone questioning his judgment has always been irritation, but now it’s gone all the way to immediate anger.
Like, if he’s a bit irritated he could forgiveably go 2.5 or 3, and I’d think nothing of it, but he went immediately into 8 territory within minutes.
The real irony here is I haven’t gotten over losing my husband, what? eleven years ago - I still dream vividly about him - but my bitch of a mother is stuck with her very much alive husband, who’s sliding into absolute demon-hood.
This sucks donkey nutz.
Well, our friends who retired to St. Pete have evacuated. I think it’s a smart move. They had a foot of water in their garage from Helene, and Milton is going to deliver what looks like a direct hit to the Tampa area.
Some soreness in the vax arm this evening, but nothing serious. We’ll see how we feel tomorrow.
Now let’s see how Harris does on 60 Minutes tonight.
I wish I had magic words to make you feel better. I can only sympathize with your situation in so many ways and let you know that I am always available to listen as I’m sure are the rest of us here in the MMP. Hugs.
Hugs to you shoe.
So the Surepost heaving was fine today, and the damages after the shift weren’t too bad. Screaming O asked me to go help at the new building across the street from Da Jungle Fulfillment Center in Garner.

The paint it gleamed!
The slides weren’t rusty!
the surfaces weren’t nasty, fluffy and dusty![/Dr. Seuss]
However, the belt system would go down if there as a small package on it, or if a piece of tape was sticking out on a box. Plus the glowing red hell engine on the platform that ran it(seriously, it glowed like Hell itself) was so loud it sounded like having a running B-17 in each ear. They were just doing a local sort to do a run up, since it wasn’t fully finished(they were just sorting Fayettenam and Cary stuff form Amazon). Spot was not happy about me being gone for 2 extra hours, but after 5 minutes of attention, he got bored and wandered off to nap. So did I. But now it’s Old Fashioned time.
As far as winter, NOAA is predicting warmer and drier than average. Which sounds about right, since it’s been a Leningrad Siege since we’ve had snow.
As RDOS, as long as you can get off your sickbed and fix a gin&tonic, you should be OK.
Sticky, I hope you can find something.
May God have mercy on your soul.
PC Load Letter!?!

The game is still down. It is just horrible, the poor man can’t even get up out of his chair to get another beer lest the game finally loads. I am happy to bring him beers but I can’t pee for him, so he rushes to the bathroom and back.
I’m a bad wife, I’m enjoying this as much as I would be playing the game. In the late morning, after swimming. That was my plan all along
Evening all. Soccer has been coached, we had all 10 boys there for the first time, so of course chaos reigned. One of them fell over his soccer ball and twisted his ankle, I don’t think it’s serious as he was putting weight on it, but we’ll have to see how it goes. Mickey D’s has met the calorie requirements for the evening and slothage is in effect for the balance of the night. Temperature is already in the 60’sF so sleeping without AC should not be an issue.
swampy, I’ll have to remember the excuse to eat chocolate benefits of medicinal chocolate.
Sari, can’t recall ever having much trouble adjusting to new bedrooms, cna you re-arrange stuff to make it seem larger?
JtC, usually I leave it in there for about 15 minutes, they have some sort of spinning machine at the gym that gets rid of about 80% of the water. but I’ll watch and see if there is a problem. And hope Hubs gets his Diablo fix eventually.
shoe, so sorry that Dad is being a problem; my brother also has the 0-to-100 temper, to the extent I don’t bring up anything that might be controversial, so it does stunt conversations. Hang in there and like Mooooommm, rant here when you need it.
9:00pm so need to wind down and finish my internettin’ and readin’ for the day. Take care all.
Thanks, y’all, I just really needed to vent.
I was so happy to spend a bit of time with him, and he seemed so happy to have me around, and then … this bullshit.
I have screenshots of the whole convo, just to remind myself for posterity what happened.
How did my intelligent father, who speaks (spoke?) four languages - I always gave him credit for five - fluently (he always said, he never spoke French well enough to be fluent, but I think that was just the Parisians giving him shit) devolve into getting angry at a simple yes/no question?
… I mean, I know the answer, but it still sucks, and now my mother has to acknowledge what’s happening.
And do … whatever has to be done next.
I snerked so hard at this.
When I was in basic training in the Army(1974) we got a series of shots with those things that look like small guns. Hold it up to your arm and poof, air pressure gives you the shot. One of mine got infected. It was a small red patch, to a larger red patch, then it swelled with a teeny white spot in the center. It hurt to raise my arm but I didn’t want to go on sick call, so I doctored it myself. Ugh, when I pricked it with a needle it looked like one of those gross videos you see on YouTube. I just stared at it before cleaning it up but the girl at the sink next to mine screamed when she saw it. She must have told my drill sergeant because next morning at the morning formation Sgt. Ogg wanted to see my arm. It was flat by then and my arm didn’t hurt.
You know, you do have a night nurse on retainer who could help with that….
lol did he play online back in the 90s when you’d have to play aols ad&d game… after a 2-4 hour download and hope you were one of the 500 people that got in the game and prayed you didn’t get disconnected … there were others …
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.
Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 12c/54f with a predicted high of 16c/60f and cloudy. Weather app says “This overcast nonsense is complete fucking shit. Utter fucking rubbish.” It’s not that bad, although it’s not overcast out there at the moment, it’s raining instead.
JBats lovely pic, Bob looks very content in his new spot.
JtC you are a wicked women, and that’s what I like about you. Also, put the bin out!!
Sticky Buns that’s rough news about the shots you need, I hope you can find some way out of this.
{{{{{shoe}}}}} it’s really hard to see parental decline, and harder when you have to deal with it like that.
metalmouse ouchie on the HVAC costs, I suppose it’s good to know you can afford it but not great to be spending cash you could use for fun stuff instead.
Swampy if your arm is falling off sore, clearly you have not had sufficient chawklit to ensure the arm stays in place. Follow OYKW’s example and have some more!
Nothing exciting in my week so far, I emptied all the rubbish bins and hauled the biiiiiiig bin out to the kerb yesterday evening. I was the first one to put a bin out, so am retaining my title of Neighbourhood Binfluencer The binmen came along just before 7.30am so I heard them as I was getting up. It’s normal rubbish rather than recycling so no drama today. My idiot neighbours had overloaded their bin but have learnt from previous times that they need to take a bag out so the lid will shut properly, then it will get emptied.
This morning I have taken care of feline tums and bums, hauled the biiiiig bin back to where it lives, and had a short training meeting with my new minion to show her how to do a task. I put together a guide yesterday afternoon, took me all of half an hour with screenshots and all, so she’s got that for reference.
I’ve got germs again so am going to tell the office that I’ll be working at home all week. I need to go out later to get some cat litter so I’ll stop at the pharmacy on the way back for medication. We also need to go grocery shopping later so it’s a multi-masking day for me! I know I only have a cold, but I don’t need to be spreading that around.
I made chilli for dinner last night so there’s leftovers in the fridge for dinner tomorrow, and 'im indoors is cooking tonight so at least when I get home from the supermarket, I don’t have to do anything else.

I’ve got germs again so am going to tell the office that I’ll be working at home all week.
I’m currently eating some medicinal chocolate on your behalf! (No need to thank me.)
Annie and I have had our morning bagel and it’s time to get motivated and do some work. I had sent an email to the principal yesterday so that I could start meeting with students today, but I never heard back from her. I also never heard back from the other teacher that my boss decided to hook me up with to answer my questions. I’m going to be prepared, but I don’t know what to expect.
Later today our handyman is stopping over to look at some things that need to be fixed. Speaking of uncertainty, I have an appointment up in Akron tomorrow as a pre-surgery preparation for the bariatric surgery that I don’t know if I’m going to be having because of the whole insurance excitement. Then I have a job interview in the afternoon for a job that I think I would like - although I wish it was closer to home. Sometimes this particular job has a hybrid structure where you can work from home some days. I hope that this one works this way.
Ok, off to prepare for the big, exciting day ahead. Happy Tuesday!
