My mother is ruining my life. She’s having delusions. Again. Same old story. sigh She told me (in a long, rambling, depressing disturbing letter) that, among other things, she managed to convince a whole group of people that because I wasn’t at the event where they all were, that I had gone missing, and had gotten them all worried about me. NO, I was not missing - I had stayed home from the event because I needed to get a good night’s sleep to set out early tomorrow - which my mother then reversed the eeffects of by phoning me late at night and waking me up.
This is only one example of how my mother is ruining the lives of everyone in my family.
On the other hand, I was out late at a concert last night. Yes, it was on a school night, but holy goodness, was it ever worth it! Seven bands played! The last band to play was the Sam Roberts Band, one of my absolute favourite bands. It was my first time seeing them live, and I absolutely adored it!!! One of the best things about the concert was that it was a benefit concert, and that the ticket had only cost $20. Yes. $20 for a whole seven bands including one of my favourite bands. WOW! It was well worth staying out late.
Dainties are all dried, folded and put away. I made myself a chef sallit for dindin. ‘Twas good. OYKW is havin’ a good time hangin’ with family. There’s a community bbq planned for tonight. His two brothers and he took charge of the most important thing, the procurin’ and icin’ down of two kegs. He makes me proud, he does!
And Capt Kirk, it’s awesome that you got to work with Sam Roberts. He and I actually live in the same city, but different areas. He’s on the road a lot, though, I believe.
Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) and I saw film of Ed White’s space walk during the Gemini program.
I mentioned that it is what I was geekliy babbling about when I said that the guy who stayed inside the spacecraft had a pair of shears in case the space walker became entangled, couldn’t get back inside and they couldn’t close the hatches. He would cut the guy loose and come home alone.
Fred is going on a space walk. Joe is staying inside.
“Hey, Joey. Lemme have those scissors. I might have to cut something out here.”
“No, Freddie, I’ll keep them in here.”
“Fuck you, Joey!”
“You sure you want to talk to me like that, Freddie?”
No plans that direction, since my life’s ambitions do not include a Darwin Award.
Think Hanna-Barbera.
Hatehatehate car woes. Failed smog check today, then had to make an emergency parts run (thankfully, there are two car parts places in walking distance of my apartment) when DH managed to have some important vacuum hose thingie just come apart. Gotta get to a dealer$hip part$ department to get the proper fix for this problem, right now he’s kludging things together enough to render the car operable enough to get there.
Drinking Bob Marley melatonin soda drink. So tired after having stayed up late last night at the concert and other stuff and getting 3 hours of sleep, and then having had a 3-hour nap this afternoon.
At least tomorrow is the weekend, so I can sleep as late as I want.
Let’s just say my sympathies are not with an allegedly mentally competent adult who decided that playing with wild bears was a good move. Make bad decisions, reap the consequences.
I do feel sympathy for those who are hurt, physically, emotionally, or otherwise, by someone else’s bad decision.
OKAY,
My neck hurts like someone who has intercourse with their female parent.
Time for a vicodin. I haven’t had one for several weeks.
As Swampy says, “Nighty night.”
I don’t know what it is with the cat wanting to pee on the spare pillow on our bed, but he’s woken me up twice this week with his scratching and I am not amused!! At least I’ve caught him before the act, but I didn’t want to be up this early today. I could have slept at least another hour. Stoopit cat!
We had one hellacious T-storm last night - it included some power blinks and a momentary blackout long enough to require me to reset all the non-battery digital clocks. Good times!! But it didn’t cool things down much - it’s in the low 70s and muggy this morning. C’mon autumn!!!
I may try for some studio time today. I’ve also got to skin the peaches I bought and slice them up. And probably other stuff. I’ll figure it out as I go along. Or not. That’s the beauty of retirement - it just doesn’t matter… (didn’t that come from Meatballs??)
I’m going out this afternoon to visit with my Adopted Irish Family. We’re going to help Irish Storyteller get some of his stuff since Crazy Chick is still in the house until the criminal trespassing charges go to court. There may be a good old-fashioned mountain beatdown among the festivities.
Do not piss of the Irish. Or the Germans. And especially don’t piss them off when they’re all in the same room together looking for mischief.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and almost done caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 75 very muggy Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 93 and sunny. Sounds like some cee-mint pond time shall be had. Just me and myself. No company today. Da bear is in hermit mode.
Spaz we expect video on youtube.
Sorry for the car woes Nettie. Hope all is fixed soonest.
I am on my last cup o’ caffiene for the mornin’. I am cleanin’ out the coffee maker with distilled vinegar and water as I post. I am a multi-tasker! Rumbly tummy is tellin’ me it’s feedin’ time and then, who knows! I am a wild and free bachelor bear!
