My right eye is roughly 75% blue and the other quarter is brown. Its very obvious, I get many comments on it. I’m just trying to find out if theres a name for it or how its caused. If anyone knows and can give me any infor or websites that would be nice.
I think it’s called Heterochromia iridis , a classmate of mine had this she was blue and fifty:fifty blue brown. There was a thread about eye colour where I think this came up sometime back (with a rather attractive photo of a doper’s boyfriend’s eye IIRC) but I’m having trouble finding it - if I do I’ll post you a link.
For a factual explanation read this
My wife has one eye that’s about 2/3 brown and 1/3 green.
I’ve always called it the “David Bowie eye”.
(David Bowie had some kind of similar condition).
IIRC Bowie’s “jasonh300’s wife’s eye” was a result of a blow to the head during a fight - the pupil doesn’t function properly either, I think it’s always dilated.
(We had a cat like that once, his pupils were always big black circles - never a slit to
be seen.)
<hijack> Hey megly, I had a college roommate who had an eye like that. Were you by any chance in college about 25 years ago? Can never remember if she had 1 3/4 blue eyes, or 1 3/4 brown eyes…

I’ve got a coworker like this, one eye is blue, the other eye is half blue half brown. It’s quite striking.
Is this the same thing that causes, say, one eye to be blue and the other eye to be green? I knew a couple of girls in college like that.
[SIZE=3]I’m starting to think that its from when I was younger and was hit in the eye with a jump rope. I think I was about 7 or else its genetics. Thank you![SIZE=3]

Saw an Australian Shephard (dog) with both eyes half and half, once. They were light blue and brown. I don’t remember which side which color was, but it was the same for each eye. I had just gotten used to the idea of Aussies frequently having one blue and one brown eye, too, and this dog just had to go one step beyond.
If it’s any consolation, my pupils aren’t perfectly in the middle, but rather, offset slightly to the inside. Though both of my eyes are a pretty blue/green.
I knew someone who had one eye two colors… You gotta really pay attention to notice it.

Or maybe it was in 1960 … in the Marianas Trench … for 20 minutes.
Sorry, I did not mean to make fun of your affliction, but I just couldn’t resist the chance to make (what is by now) an almost mandatory posting.
One of my exs had this; left eye brown right one blue. She got really, really tired of people telling her, “I had a dog like that once.” Best guess about why she had it was a mutation in one of the genes controlling eye color. The rest of her family had only brown eyes.
