One Night Ultimate Werewolf game

This is so weird. I read this post as wolverine covering for wolfy mahaloth while not realizing that wolverine isn’t a wolf anymore. What gives?

Why is that theory suspect? I don’t see a problem with a pre-Day Mahaloth/Wolverine wolf pair given what we know. And that means Prof. P is now the wolf.

I just think we need to hear from HookerChemical, and then we can wrap this baby up early.

It’s not suspect so much as inconsistent. I realize now that I’m projecting my own knowledge where wolverine is in the dark. Up to now wolverine couldn’t know which pair actually got switched. My bad.

But his post is inconsistent. He claimed villager. Then he confirmed tanner. Then he acknowledges that he’s switched. He’s kind of all over the place. But I guess it is just a flailing maybe I’m a wolf but I don’t really know Sort of thing.

Wolverine, biotop is most certainly the troublemaker. He switched you and prof p. Care to enlighten us now that you win with the village?

I didn’t check posting times but I assumed he’d crossposted with Mahaloth and was going to try fakeclaim villager but when he saw Maha’s claim, he figured the cat was out of the bag and dropped the charade.

Me, I think he’s the tanner.

Or rather was the tanner.

I thought you said the Tanner was out of the game?

I say a lot of things.

Mahaloth claimed Wolverine was the Tanner and Wolverine confirmed it so either Mahaloth is lying for his own reasons and Wolverine is going along for his own reasons or they’re telling the truth. But for the moment, if you’re correct and they’re correct, neither Wolverine or Professor P should be voted for.

Why do I feel like I am reading Alice in Wonderland?

Everybody can throw around “Tanner” without it meaning much of anything because it is the one role that t**he one who knows they have it will never actually claim…

So is it not in the best interest of everyone who is Town, now that we all know which roles were switched*,** TO START TELLING THE TRUTH?!**

  • unless TexCat was lying too…:frowning:

Yes. I was the Tanner. I had written my post in response to Prof. P calling me out for lurking (2.5 hours into the game) but was called away from my computer for only 3 minutes. I came back and posted that I was villager. Then I noticed that in those 3 minutes that Mahaloth claimed to be Seer, had asked about me, and had truthfully said I was Tanner. That’s when I posted the second post.

Inner lies on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday while Stickler lies on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. On Sundays they go break Tweedledee’s rattle.

Ugh I am going to bed. I hope this game starts making sense on Wednesdays…

Claimed starting roles:
Inner Stickler, [del]Seer[/del] Liar
Biotop, Troublemaker (Prof P<->Wolverine)
snfaulkner, Villager
Prof. Pepperwinkle, Mason
TexCat, Robber (TexCat<->Johnny Bravo)
HookerChemical, ???
Wolverine, [del]Villager[/del] Tanner
Mahaloth, Seer (Wolverine is Tanner)
Johnny Bravo, Drunk
sachertorte, [del]Troublemaker[/del] Mason

Unclaimed: 2 werewolves, 1 villager, Hunter, Insomniac

We still need to hear from Hooker, but if he is wolf, he’ll now have a convenient claim to make. Could it be that the wolves were the first and last to claim?

I’m inclined to vote for Inner and call it a day, but he’s really playing more like the Tanner, like he’s trying to get killed. Is it possible that Inner is the Tanner, and that Wolverine and Mahaloth started as the wolves?

Where is the Seer if Mahaloth is NOT that role? Do we not have one? And do we have a good reason to doubt Mahaloth now that the claim by Inner Stickler is in serious doubt?

I think we’re going to have to start making some assumptions. At the end of the day we have to make a guess and stick with it.

I think we can safely assume that we have a Tanner and two wolves. This is good news to me because it means I’m town and can win as town! Yay!

Alright. Stuff like this means Inner is either one of our confirmed liars or else he’s throwing the game purposefully. I refuse to believe the latter.

So either he’s a lying tanner or a lying wolf. I see three possibilities.

  1. He’s the tanner. He made a claim that he knew would be countered so that we’d kill him and he wins.

  2. He’s the wolf. He made the claim to create a WIFOM situation. Is he the wolf masquerading as a tanner?

  3. He’s the wolf. He fucked right up when he made a ludicrous early claim. Seems unlikely.

I think it’s safe to assume he’s not the seer, though.

Okay, let’s talk about Mahaloth’s claim.

Wolves have no special knowledge about roles except who the other wolf is or, if there’s no other wolf, one of the unused roles.

It’s possible that Mahaloth is a lone wolf and knew that there’s no seer in the game. This would have allowed him to easily counterclaim Inner Stickler. However, he also gave us a true reading of Wolverine. How do we know it’s true? Because if Mahaloth knows that there’s no seer in the game, then there is only one wolf. If there is only one wolf, he could not be colluding with Wolverine.

Therefore, Mahaloth must be the seer. Wolverine must have started as the tanner.

Conclusion: if Mahaloth is the seer, then Wolverine started as the Tanner. If Wolverine started as the Tanner, then Inner Stickler, who is a liar, must have started as a wolf.

If Biotop is a wolf, then he did not switch anybody at all. If Biotop is the troublemaker, he has no reason to lie about his switches. Nobody switched Inner Stickler. He is the same role he started as.

Inner Stickler started as the wolf. He is still the wolf. We vote for him and town wins.

But why, if Inner Stickler is a Wolf, would he admit to lying when we all seemed to be believing his claim?

**BECAUSE **we were all believing his claim. There’s no way a wolf would counterclaim that unless he knew, via the “lone wolf” rule, that there was no seer in the game. But if Mahaloth is the only wolf, Wolverine is not a wolf and would not confirm a false claim. The odds of Mahaloth correctly guessing Wolverine’s role are minuscule and not worth factoring in.

So, truths as I currently know them.

  1. Mahaloth must be the seer.
  2. Therefore, Wolverine must have been the tanner.
  3. Therefore, Inner Stickler cannot be the tanner.
  4. Therefore, Inner Stickler must be a wolf.

I also give decent odds to Biotop being the other wolf, but it doesn’t matter. We only need to know who one wolf is.
