But even if you are a lone wolf (not guaranteed), there’s a 66% chance that I’m still town. It’s better for me to try and secure a town victory, and since I’m the one who put together the bulk of the case against you, I’ll still feel like I “won” if my theory plays out accurately.
It would be really nice to hear from HookerChemical. But since discussing is more fun than not discussing…
From the rules
A singleton Inner Stickler wolf is the most plausible theory I have so far. Inner Stickler probably was given the information that the insomniac was not in the game. That set up the seer claim of insomniac/tanner not being in the game. At the time, it would have been unlikely that the real tanner would counterclaim Inner Sticker since the real tanner would want to keep that info secret. It’s only by chance that the Tanner was both investigated by the real seer AND switched by the Troublemaker to make a truthful claim plausible*.
What I can’t reconcile is why didn’t Inner Stickler simply claim Insomniac.
Hmmm. I have more thoughts. But I’m keeping that one secret, tricksy Inner Sticker.
Seriously, what is up with that? This is an extraordinary coincidence. Almost unbelievable if you know what I mean.
Claiming as insomniac is tricky because the insomniac knows if his role got switched.
So if he claimed insomniac and then Biotop says, “wait a minute, I switched you and wolverine - you should have known that your role changed,” we know he was lying. If he waits to claim insomniac until after the robber and troublemaker have revealed, it’s too convenient a claim to be fully plausible (and he’d still have to know what his new role is in those cases, so he’d have to wait for even more claims).
If Inner has been town this whole time and has been stringing us along with lies, he’s basically doomed us all and we lose. I don’t think that’s the case, though.
So much for keeping my thoughts secret. I was looking at the player list and the conspicuous missing role is Hunter. Hunter gets to shoot again and possibly win for the village by taking out a werewolf. It makes sense if Inner Stickler feels he will be in a better position to choose a werewolf unilaterally rather than trying to rely on a secret vote. Democracy is great and all that, but sometimes a little dictatorship is needed to get the job done.
I’m going to vote for Inner Stickler. If he is still lying, then he is a werewolf and we win.
If Inner Sticker is truthful, then he is the hunter and will shoot someone else to try and kill a werewolf, which should be either snfaulker or HookerChemical by my estimation.
I think I’m doing pretty well, actually. Your Hunter claim doesn’t explain away your astonishingly lucky shot-in-the-dark that there was no Insomniac in the game.
I’ve got no intention of banking the entire game on those slim odds.
He wanted to get caught.
He probably also wanted a wolf to catch him and really press for the vote against him.
It’s a shame that the game progressed without HookerChemical. IS will have to choose between snfaulkner and HookerChemical without much information. I guess he could shoot Johnny Bravo too, but that seems like a low probability play.
One thing that gnaws at me is Biotop. I’m fairly certain he is who he says he is, but I have a worried feeling that he’s a wolf who knew I was lying because he knew troublemaker was one of the unclaimed roles. Everyone else on my do not lynch list has another player to verify role/power. But Biotop is purely left out because of an uncontested claim. There is no cross verification.
TexCat is power verified by JB AND has an uncontested claim. Therefore village.
Prof P and sachertorte cross verify each other AND have uncontested claims. Therefore village.
Mahaloth and Wolverine cross verify each other AND have uncontested claims. Therefore village.
That leaves:
Inner Stickler
Biotop
snfaulker
HookerChemical
Johnny Bravo
Inner Sticker is playing to get lynched, so hunter makes sense there.
Johnny Bravo is subject to random draw, so isn’t a good choice.
It’s happened before. One of the most vicious games I played in the roles ended up being robber, troublemaker, seer and tanner. Wooee, did that get vehement.
If none of y’all are werewolves then I have a 33% chance of winning!
After some further thought I see the value of a lying Hunter, but it’s still a strong case against Inner Stickler. If he’s the Hunter, then he was extraordinarily unlucky to have picked Insomniac as one of his claims.
Either way, I don’t see how there’s much more data that can be gleaned. Hooker still needs to come back to the thread.
I’ll be voting for Inner Stickler barring some sort of monumental shift in what we know.
