One of the stories of Krishna - a romantic MMP

Gah! Ants! Ants in the kitchen! They were coming up through the floor furnace and marching on the cat food. Were. An application of Raid took care of them. I’m not putting any more cat food down until I know they’re gone. At least they haven’t started coming up through the bathtub drain again. :shudder: These are nasty little varmints, too. They bite!

Picunurse, on any other day besides this one, I’d be flirting. Instead, my shoulder is still available.

Had a fire again tonight… someone’s riding mower burned up. We took 1 engine and the crappy tanker for a call that was put out with an extinguisher. :stuck_out_tongue:

12 brothers and sisters? And some in Michigan? Surely some have made their way to Ohio (it happens in just about every family; I swear).     I’ll bet they’re in my workplace. Ants are ick. Especially the bitey ones.

That chili sounds yummy, BioRosie. I bookmarked it.

Room service makes me want to be hospitalized. Glad the food set-up is so nice! (Amazing how little things make a big difference.)

I’ve had my first corn; it was pretty good, even though I’d let it sit in the fridge longer than intended. I make corn in the microwave. I rinse the ears (husks and all) and then throw them in for 1 1/2 minutes. Works really nicely. Only hard part is shucking them, but I use a silicon potholder to hold the ear so I don’t burn myself.

Mowed the lawn, did some weeding, planted the last four containers. Then I went out for [del]dinner[/del] ice cream and took a pretty long walk. Forgot that the church around the corner is having it’s annual festival today and tomorrow; should have walked in that direction. Oh, well. Tomorrow night.

Going plant shopping tomorrow (because what I really need is more plants  ).
Actually the place we’re going to is really cool. Probably won’t buy much, but it will be fun to window shop.

Guess I should think about beddie bye.

Busy day today. It was truck day, then I wne t home walked the dog, and napped. I just got home from the Hurricane Booster Club Draft party(Hi, gt!) I won a Gordie Howe book in the raffle.

Get better soon, rigs!

Happy weekend to everybody!

rigs, whoa! I thought we were just talking feeling a little under the weather–not hospital sick. I hope you’re feeling better soon. That hospital sounds nice, though. . . room service and everything. And the food is decent too? Wow.

Lili, I just saw this and thought of you. Morning sickness tied to lower breast cancer risk. It probably doesn’t make it better, but I thought I’d share it.
**
Taters**, it wasn’t me sharing that tummy thing. Promise. I hope you’re feeling better and can get out on the boat soon.

First, {{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}} to Picu and get well wishes to Rigs. Sorry about the nausea-inducing antibiotics, too, Rigs. :frowning:

Let me just say TGIF! I had a chicken cheese steak for dinner tonight–first time I tried that and it wasn’t bad, but didn’t really meet my cheese steak craving. And it was too salty! I stopped using salt and switched to the salt-free spices (Mrs. Dash brand usually) years ago, and many times I find take-out food over-salted. Heh, and for some reason I got into a box of Fig Newtons today and ate a whole sleeve of em. Oh yeah, and now I’m paying the price!!!

No real plans for this weekend except to relax and chill; the weather is supposed to be pleasant - warm and low humidity. No word from my doctor yet, but I do see the endocrinologist next Friday (the 29th). I’m waiting for the fresh fruits and veggies (local) to begin showing up at the farmer’s markets–I really love having fresh fruit to snack on and it does keep me from snacking on other, non-wholesome things (like whole sleeves of Fig Newtons …).

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

{{{rigs}}} :eek::eek::eek:

Pneumonia is no fun at all! I’ve had it twice, although neither case was hospital-grade – I just got crammed full of antibiotics and became human again after 12 hours. I don’t even want to think what yours is like to require inpatient care! Get well fast!

In other news, it’s Saturday morning! (And Generalissimo Franco is still dead…)

Dogs have been walked, male half of the Terrible Twins [sup]TM[/sup] needs to be picked up from sleepover at a friend, and then we are hitting the pool (and the gym there.) Standard Saturday stuff…

{{{Rigs}}} - you get better quick, before Swampy starts issuing orders!

I almost don’t know what to do with myself today, 'im indoors is away and I have nothing that has to be done. Last night I did grocery shopping, changed the bedding, washed the sheets and baked a cake for a friend. Today the only thing I have planned is that my friend Gill is taking me to a Maine Coon cat show this afternoon. Tomorrow I may go to the gym, but that is the absolute extent of my plans so far.

It’s just before 9am, I think I’ll get a cup of tea and feed the ravening hordes first and then maybe the best thing to do is lay on the sofa with a good book. Yeah, that sounds about right.

What’s a good book? That sounds like a nice way to spend the day. I am up for no good reason. God, hospitals are boring. At least I don’t have a roomate yet…

It’s wet and thunderstormy here. Soon I’ll have no excuse at all to not do my homework. Then again, there’s always TV (I don’t watch much, but they have BBCAmerica here! I watched some soapy show last night–forgot the name–about a bunch of high school girls: one was a cute blonde, one was a punkish brunette, the other two were just kind of mousy. Mouse #1 was seeing a guy named Gil, but wanted to see a guy named Rhys (I think), something had happened and some kids had died and Mouse #2 ended up with a dead rat in her locker… It was all very intriguing, but made no sense, which was good.

thanks for all the well wishes. My mother said she’d come up, but I’d have to ask, because she’s due to fly to DC on Tuesday. She also asked me to remember that she offered to come up (funny, that-I thought she’d told me I had to ask…)

Anyway, I don’t need her-I’m fine in here, the kids are fine and what would she do but drive us all nuts?

Hope you’re doing better, rigs. What’s for breakfast?

I’m up, caffeinating, waiting for my boiled egg to be done. Then I’m printing out directions to the place we’re going to.

Hafta water plants and maybe start some laundry then it’s out the door to go to the plant nursery. It’s about 1 1/2 hours away and will be an all day trip…

There goes the toaster…Guess I’ll go put stuff together.

Everyone have a lovely Saturday.

Nothing quite like starting the day with a feline pawing at your head and licking your hair. It dropped to 55 degrees F overnight, and I guess she was cold. I let her under the covers once, but she came out a few seconds later when **FCD ** got up to pee. Then she went away, only to return and start nagging me again. Sheesh!

But all of the 4-legged family members have been tended to, and I’m starting to worry about Scruffy - seriously. She’s becoming more and more aggressive towards Bernie and Brandy, and this morning when I moved her from Bernie’s food dish to her own, she growled at me. I don’t know what’s going on, but if she turns mean, she’s outta here. Stoopit dog.

I really, truly am going to sew today. I’ve got to clear the dining room table and move all of the chairs out of there. I’ve also got to pull out the bolt of fabric and decide which direction is up. I don’t want to have to use zippers, and I prefer not to sew the final seam, but I haven’t entirely worked out how I’ll finish the covers. at least 2 of these suckers are more than six feet long, so keeping the fabric snug will be, um, a challenge. I’ll figger it out.

I’m getting pissed at the cable company again. This morning, we’re without most of the Digital Plus channels again. So I’ll be on the phone again. I hate that they’re our only TV option. Yeah, maybe we could get a dish, but we’re surrounded by trees, especially to the south. If it was just me, I never would have added digital, but my sweetie loves TV when he wants to go brain dead. Stoopit cable company.

Speaking of the Harry Potter Hacker - I don’t get it. First off, I’ve had no interest in reading any of those books, so that may color my perception. But his claim that posting the stolen ending will make reading the book boring and useless tells me he’s not a reader himself. Yeah, being surprised by plot twists is a big part of it, but there’s a bit more to reading than that… What kills me is how the news reporters are falling all over themselves to do this story. I guess they just like feeding trolls, ya think?

Gee, I’m grouchy this morning - I think I need caffeine…

Mornin Y’all!

Hope you’re feelin’ better rigs. Just take care of yourself and do your homework, young lady. You have no reason not to, so turn off that tv and get busy! I mean it! Don’t give me that look!

What? She said she needed to get it done.

'Tis nice out right now. Feels like mid 60’s but it’s gonna be near a hunnert degrees Amurrkin this afternoon. That means it’s definite pool weather.

Jah I pay an exterminator just so I don’t have to deal with ants or roaches. Ok other creepy crawly critters I don’t want in my house also, but mostly so’s I don’t have ants or roaches. They know it too cause the one time I did see a shudder roach shudder in da cave I left messages like every fifteen minutes until somebody showed up to do sump’n about it. The buggys belong outside, not inside!

Need more caffiene. Later Y’all!

Hmmm…what’ s for breakfast? <flips open menu>

I believe I’ll have scrambled eggs, bacon, or the Eye Opener: egg, cheese and ham on an English muffin. Or pehaps some yogurt and a cinnamon roll or a cheese Danish…
I could gain weight here!

Re HP hacker–what a total loser. I loves me HP, but 1. I think this idiot doesn’t have the real deal and 2. even if he did, it wouldn’t matter, as was stated upthread. Some people just have to piss in other’s Cheerios. Bah.

Don’t have the Cheerios for breakfast then! I say go for the eye opener cause it sounds good!

Maybe I need to eat some breakfast.

FCM, have you thought about using velcro instead of zippers? It seals flat, and you can sew it in so the covers can be removed for washing. And you wouldn’t have to do any handsewing.

I am having my coffee right now, but I may go back to bed. I have to go get cat food today, which means a trip across town to PetsMart. Thank goodness Michaels is in the same strip, I have to return some jewelry findings I bought that are the wrong ones.

You know you have a sweet cat when he’s lying on your desk and you tell him he is handsome, he starts purring and making air biscuits before you even start petting him!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

**SCL ** - we’ve discussed velcro, and I’ve also considered snaps. Until I get started and see how the pieces go together, I won’t know for sure how to deal. See, the cushions aren’t nice little rectangular chunks. There are curves, angles, and some bizarre touches that I need to deal with. It couldn’t be simple, could it??

**FCD ** is on the way to the boat. I’m about to grab some breakfast, then shower and get working. woo and hoo

Where’s my paper! I just called and let ‘em know my paper was not delivered, yet again. The paper lady (yes, I happen to know the person who delivers out here is a woman) forgot me again. This happens a lot on weekends. The good news is that since she forgot today, that means it’ll be here bright and early tomorrow. If it happens one day it won’t happen the next. So there is that. I sometimes wonder if she has somebody helpin’ her on weekends who does not deliver all the papers since it’s only on weekends when it happens.

Oh well, I could go purtify. For what you ask, since plans are to go lie in a big ol’ cee-mint pond? Well, cause! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m all showered and about to call the cable company to raise a ruckus. I hate this. grrrrrr

Before showering, I put away the clean dishes and loaded the dirties into the dishwasher, so the kitchen is more or less respectable. I haven’t had breakfast yet, but I’m about to - my tumbly is all rumbly. Then for real, I’ma gonna start cushion rehab.

But first, fooooooooood…

I’m up and caffeinating. I have the windows open, since it cooled down to 70 here. I’ll do some cleaning today, so I can slack off on Monday.

rigs, Spoiled ending don’t bother me either. Besides everybody knows Harry Potter become Emperor Palpatine’s father at the end of the book.

swampy, my paper guy always delivers his papers.

FCM, I hope Scruffy doesn’t go evil on you, but at least you tried.

BooFae, sounds like a good plan to me.

SCL - when are we gonna see pictures of all the purty jewelry you made? because if you don’t sell out atthe show, maybe some of us would buy some.
