I didn’t get to see them when they were broadcast; I may be gone some time…
Bsg?
Battlestar Galactica.
I’m going to wait until they put out a unified Season 2 set.
The first episode has just finished. Major wibble!
FYI, season 2.5 is out Sept 19.

Good luck, Quartz! If you really are doing a virgin Season 2 marathon, I’d keep a notebook handy. And I’ll look forward to your thread on Friday morning.
Just finished another episode. I think that’s enough for tonight: I was up early and I’m tired. Silenus, it’s the complete Season 2 on 6 DVDs.
How’d you get the complete Season 2 when the 2.5 DVD’s aren’t even supposed to come out until next month?
That’d be because I’m in the U.K.
I think you’ll find that it’s only Season 2.0, i.e. the first 10 episodes.
A prediction: when he gets to the end of the last episode, his cries will be heard across the Atlantic.
Nope. 6 DVDs, 4 episodes per DVD. Go to Amazon.co.uk and look for yourself.
So it’s only we Americans who are getting screwed, eh?
Hell with that noise. I didn’t buy 2.0, and I won’t buy 2.5. I’ll buy the season when they release it as a whole, and I’ll be damned if I’m paying full-season prices for two half-season boxes.
Well, it’s rattling along at a fair old pace. Spoilers or not? All I’ll say for the moment is that I’m expecting to watch the whole thing through, then rewatch it more carefully.
So, is Baltar really a Cylon? How else could he be getting the information that No. 6 is giving him?
I think he is not a cylon, despite the mystery of how he survived the initial attack on Caprica. I think the #6 in his head is an expression of his inner conscious (mentioned in one of the episodes in S2) that is making the “logical” connections of hte information he knows and the things he perceives, without his conscious thoughts realizing it. Maybe he’s schizophrenic.
As of last night, I’m half way through: the episode Final Cut was pure, unadulterated crap, but the next episodes more than made up for it. I’m surprised that Roslyn didn’t take action against The Bitch for leaving people to die. I also felt that her death was literally a Deus Ex Machina, which was a small let-down, but it was foreshadowed.
Dude. Gaeta with a tattoo :D.
Well, apparently she was prepared to through her ally/proxy, but Adama backed down.
A common complaint at the time it aired and I sorta agree. That said the writers were probably stuck. It’s hard to imagine the good admiral letting Tyrol and Helo go, so she had to be sacrificed to open up the storyline sooner rather than later. Frankly I would have had the admiral back down, but then have Adama go through with his assassination plot. But obviously the writers didn’t want to go quite that abyssly dark with his character and given that any other choice meant some sort of Deus Ex Machina-like removal had to occur. Gina was the obvious ( too obvious, perhaps ) choice.
You are about to hit that down period in season 2 IMO. Cervaise makes a good argument over why that was necessary for the writers as well. But it does plod a bit for the next few IMHO. It’s not bad per se ( well maybe ‘Black Market’ ), and it does pick up again near the end.

Actually, come to think of it, the best thing might have been for Baltar, to, say, quietly poison her. Much more believable than an escaped Gina, as he had access and certainly motivation given his emotional response.

I should note that I have been reading the threads following the initial showings.
