Ooooh, looky, it's the second annual springy MMP!

Never mind that… cheese and steak, in the same recipe? That’s… that’s… not kosher!

Freaking anti-semite! :stuck_out_tongue:

:: lavishes hugs and kisses to all and sundry ::

I’m fluttering around in my underwear right now, trying to clean and pack and fold laundry all at once. And I haven’t even had coffee yet! So psyched about flying over to Atlanta this weekend.

You’ve just given Bob, doggio, and Noone heart attacks, Haze.

… and I’m pretty sure it was intentional, too!

Flirt! :stuck_out_tongue:

Not that I mind, of course…

Ooops. I forgot I was in my undies when I lavished those hugs and kisses.

But yes, I am a flirt. :stuck_out_tongue: I have a reputation to consider!

Come on, people. Don’t you flutter about in your undies when you’re at home? Anyone? Anyone?

You’ll find some way around it. After all, tofutti was created so the Orthodox bunch could eat ice cream, too…

you gonna hang with swampy?

I thought swampy lived a ways from Atlanta? And I’m only there for a few days - I fly back on Monday, boo.

That’s right, Haze, torment all the boys with the image of you in your undies. Your fluttering undies. I think there’ll be a whole bunch of them in Room 304 misbehaving themselves individually, if you know what I mean, and I know you do.

I’m up. Rusty kept me up most of the night panicking over storms. In spite of the fact that I gave him his Heavy Medication before the lightning and thunder started, he still was pretty panicky. He finally let me get to bed about an hour before Papa Tigs had to get up. By that point I was so tired I couldn’t see my computer screen to work, so I’m still not finished with Mr. Stupid Idiot. Crap. I mean, I feel bad for poor Rusty – panicking like that is just NOT fun for him, poor baby. And he really was pretty well-behaved, all things considered. But I had to ignore him whining and, occasionally, yelping outside my bedroom door for ten minutes before he finally settled down, even though the storms were past us by that point. And I cannot work very easily with him crawling all over me. :frowning:

Happier dog thoughts: Yay, puppies, kai! Do poms give birth easily, or do they need much help? How many pups do they usually produce? When are yours due, or do you know? How quickly will you be posting pictures?

A tentatively May 31 party, FCM? I’ll talk to Papa Tigs, but at this point I don’t see any reason why we couldn’t make it. Sounds fun! Plus he’s not seen Manland, so he needs to be made seriously jealous.

Time to get back to work and finish Mr. Stupid Idiot now that it’s just raining, not thunderstorming. I am looking forward to handing the Idiots over to Papa Tigs this weekend and letting HIM take care of them for a bit! I love them dearly, but they are exhausting at times.

rosie, hope that knee gets better fast!

kai, at least the man finally figured it out.

fcm, um, you HAVE been lifting heavy loads…you packed up the girl’s belongings, no?

nooney, just eff that asshat!

sapz, keep an eye on that tick bite. If it gets a ring around it, hie thee to a doctor.

swampy, this is gonna just make you die! We had our house replumbed this week. It’s the second replumb but the material used the first time has been recalled because it is defective. Therefore, this job cost us nothing. Since we do not have a basement, everything is up in the attic. One of the spigots needing new piping is on the front porch where the siding is brick. Rather than go through the brick, the plumber went through the opposite side of the wall which is inside the garage. As it happens, it is exactly where we have our “garage fridge.” Now, the garage fridge was initially temporary but has become very convenient for holding extra beers and whatnot. Now, here’s the big finale…when the plumber went through the wall to do the spigot, he also hooked up the old fridge’s ice-maker as well. So we now have backup ice! How cool is that???

Imma taking a half vacation day today…just cause.

Kai, I luuuurves me some puppies! Pics when they come???

Tupug

LiLi, I’ve had a couple of those come crawling out of the woodwork thanks to Facebook… but I consider it fair payment for being able to reconnect with several old friends that I’d lost touch with over the years (some of whom I hadn’t seen since high school, or even earlier). The nice thing is that you can choose to ignore emails and Facebook messages if you’re not in the mood to deal with an emotional leech at that point in time.

Nooner, my FIL left last weekend to go hike up to Masada. He was very excited that he would have a chance to be in Israel to celebrate the 60th anniversary - he spent a couple of years in a kibbutz in his youth, and I think he still thinks of Israel as his real home. Sounds like a good time was had by all… I’m just sorry that some idiots feel the need to rain on your parade. Grrr.

kai, glad the man figured out he was being a doofus. Chocolate love offerings go a long way towards earning forgiveness.

Hugs to all. YAY for Firday!

On this loverly Firday, I bring you today’s WTF page

LiLi, my policy is, insanity in my friends can be dealt with as long as it doesn’t exceed my own. Luckily it’s easy to ignore people on Facebook.

Oh yeah, I have one of those.

I’m kidding. I’ve heard about those skirts before though. I think snopes said it’s difficult to find out whether the pictures are real or not.

ETA: Huh, it’s been verified since the last time I read the article. Japanese See-Through Skirts | Snopes.com

Hugs to all who need them.

Insane “friends” from one’s past are why I don’t have a Facebook page and why I don’t use my real name on my blog. There are people that I’ve known who I really don’t want to know where I live and what I’m doing. There was one guy in high school and one a few years later who got a bit obsessed, and I’d rather just let them think I fell off the face of the earth.

Oh good gosh, I am so tired–I am GOING TO SLEEP IN TOMORROW IF IT KILLS ME!!! Stayed up too late last night attending a meeting of the local hydrogen experimenters club where we did a little info gathering and poaching of likely people. There are some weird conspiracy theorists out there, I’m just sayin’…

Daughter dropped off her dog for a playdate this morning and all three beasties are caroming around the back yard like demented idiots, barking at the kids going to school, squirrels, their own rear ends and nothing at all. Dogs are silly.

I need some coffee, and it’s done brewing, but I’m too tired to go get it–I hate that. I have a headache too. I’m just a little ball of grump and whine this morning!

Hugs to all who are in need, big Man-Beatin’-Sticks are in the umbrella stand in the corner, I stuffed some paper towels under the door of room 304 as I went past and Happy Birfday to Israel–say what you will about Middle East politics, I think it’s goddamned cool that Israel exists even though it’s such a bummer that they have to work so hard and be so vigilant just to be left alone. Maybe it would’ve been better to find some nice, uninhabited tropical land with better weather? Well, what’s done is done…

I want puppy pics ASAP! I saw a news clip with a tiny puppy that came out with green fur for some unknown reason and now I have this overwhelming desire to have a green dog. Good thing mine are black or I’d be chasing them around with the Manic Panic! My older cat is mostly fluffy white but he would never put up with such nonsense. It’s bad enough that I’m going to have to buy clippers to get rid of his shedding mats–he won’t let me cut them off or brush him anymore (old and crotchety!) so we’re gonna have to towel him and clip him some. Otherwise he rips the hair out himself and leaves itchy, scabby bald patches, yuck!

Ticks. shudder Get Revolution, it kills those fuckers a treat, gets rid of fleas and also manages ear mites. Win all 'round! Bit spendy though.

Ach, I am going to get up and get some coffee in my stupid haid!

Ok, I’ll raise my hand.
Unless the child is home, then she gets all squicky about it and makes me dress.

ManLand may be undergoing destruction by then, to be replaced by ManBarn - a 24X32 stand-alone structure that **FCD ** intends to build in the back yard where the little red shed stands now.

We just finished designing 2 apartment layouts for the kids. They’ll get to pick and/or modify the layout to suit their needs. We gave them 2 bedrooms, a big walk-n closet, a mini-kitchen, and a nice bath, plus I have easy access to my laundry area and studio without invading their space too much. Personally, I think my plan is the better one… Oh yeah, and my studio space will more than double - woo and double hoo!!

Whew! That was a lot of catching up to do!

First off:

**Rosie, ** I hope the knee heals up soon.

kai, hopefully skiffman will stay in your good graces for awhile. If he doesn’t, give him a collective whap courtesy of your friends, the Mumpers.

**Haze, ** I have been known to run around the house in my undies and sometimes less, but since the kids are pretty much grown and here a lot, I have to cover up now. When the kids move out, it’ll be back to undie roaming, I’m sure.

Get well wishes to those of you with Teh Sick and Teh Crud.

I still haven’t heard back from the doctor’s office with results of the biopsy. If I don’t hear anything by this afternoon, I’ll call them.

So, my middle sister called and left a message on my home phone yesterday. It seems we’re all going out to her place for Mother’s Day. She lives in BFE. In her message, she asked us to be there at noon or 12:30. She also asked me to bring drinks, which I’m happy to do. There are supposed to be 20 people in attendance.
I guess the easiest thing to bring should be a few cases of soda and a case or so of beer.

Have I mentioned in the past how small her house is? It’s small and crammed full of furniture. Now, if the weather were going to be nice, we could just migrate outside. However, the weather promises to be pure crap.

The only reason we’re going is because my mother, MIL, and possibly stepmother will be there. Otherwise, we have just opted to do something with them tomorrow and pass on going to sis’s place. Hubby still wanted to just do something tomorrow with the moms, but I told him this probably wouldn’t go over well at all.

I guess I should get myself cleaned up. It’s my RDO and I was just enjoying the peace and quiet.

If you saw the average “patron” at the San Francisco Public Library, you’d be wondering how she’d managed to go so long without getting infested. <yechh>

Seems to be a week for hand injuries. DH got a couple fingers bent the wrong way by our dog last night. I had him reduce the dislocated finger to save a $100+ trip to the ER - poor guy about turned green when he did it: “It …eoogh…moved!” Good news is that it’s just a bit swollen and sore today, rather than a lot swollen and throbbing. It’ll give something to distract him from all of the rejections. Actually, he doesn’t get that many rejections. Probably 95% of the resumes he sends out just go into black holes.

Did I ever mention how much I hate the Post Office tracking system? FedEx and UPS have real-time systems, but the USPS? Their system is still saying “Electronic Shipping Info Received” for an Express (overnight) box that’s supposed to be delivered today. I have no idea where the box is.
