OP Ideas for the MMP

Good luck and bedbugless wishes to Herbs!

And now this…

Ogbligatroy drkunne psot!

Ntiye Ntei Y’lal!

OK, people, cut it out with The Sick! Your loved ones too!
After a week of being on the edge the whole day, yesterday I was DOA, so I went to bed at 7ish. It’s now 4ish, which is only 1h earlier than my usual wake-up time.

Mom is “trying to be good”, but that’s kind of even worse than have her just ram in. Having her here disrupts my meal times, the contents of said meals, and means I can’t have a minute of silence, keep the toilet’s lid in place (Porcelanosa is crap, in case y’all didn’t know, and that lid slids off unless you lift it using symmetrical forces or simply by its point; Mom managed to get it off the toilet four times in the first four times she used the toilet, so now it’s off), go shopping when I wanna or have a chat with my friends without her asking “who are you typing to? What are you saying? How come you type so fast?” (In order: some German dude you don’t know, that you’re still here therefore I can’t take part in the raid, and 3 years of typing lessons in junior high followed by 30 years of practice). She comes for 10 days (2 weekends!) after having asked whether that was acceptable and been told “no”, but then she “tries to be good”. Aaaaaargh. But I don’t even know if it would have been legal to hand her a ticket for last Thursday and say “Mom, I did say 7 days max” or it would constitute abandonment as well as piss her off; I have to ask a family lawyer. Pissing her off usually makes her stop talking to people: after a week of not being able to have a minute of silence in my own house, it sure seems like it would be a nice thing!

Worked, came home, walked the dogs.

Nava, I have the opposite problem. My parents tend to move every time I visit.

: sends bedbugless wished to Herbs :

swampy, glad you didn’t run out. Remember, you can never have too much TP and beer when the zombies come.

Get better soon, Moooommmm!!

BBBobbio, I hope your ass is less of a pain in itself after Tuesday.

BooFae, I hope Teh Sick goes away.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’.

Herbs hope the sleep study went well and bedbugless.

Nava the only thing I can say with any certainty is I’m pretty sure it’s against the law in Spain to kill your mother. However, if you get a jury of people who are annoyed at their mothers you might have a chance. Take deep breaths. She’ll be gone soon.

Hope you sickies are feelin’ better today! That includes the PITA. :stuck_out_tongue:

Now I must seek more caffiene and feed rumbly tummy.

Happy Saturday!

You can be strong, Nava. My mom does the same kinds of things, especially when I’m trying to read. Since we’re separated by a few thousand miles and I don’t see her all that often, I always brace myself for her behavior, take deep breaths, and roll my eyes behind her back to get through it. Hopefully, there are fun times that offset the annoyance (there definitely are with my mother).

Spaz, you asked somewhere back there whether anyone wanted to review your resume… I’d be happy to. My e-mail is my user name here at gmail. (I’m not great at checking that account, so post here or PM me to let me know that it’s there…)

Getting ready to go off to create Halloween decoration stuff (masks, mostly).

Back later.

Up, caffeinated, off to irk. Birthday dinner for a friend after irk.

Waiting for the electric company guys to come install some magical device on my a/c unit to save me money. OK, it’s not magical exactly - it’s a control unit that turns the compressor off for a certain number of minutes every hour during peak use time in the summer. Anything to save a few bucks on our electric bill…

**FCD **and daughter have headed to a new aquarium store somewhere out by Dulles airport. I was originally going to go with them, but I still don’t feel great, plus there’s this appointment with the electric company guys… so I’m doing laundry and yelling at daughter’s idiot dog. Good times.

I am feeling a little better, so far. My throat is still sore, but not as bad as yesterday. And I’m coughing, but not as much and not as deeply. I may be back to normal, more or less, by tomorrow. Hope so. Sick is not fun.

That’s pretty much all in my life today. So far. But it’s early.

Happy Saturday, all!

Good morning! Up and caffeinating, about to throw some breakfast together.
Needville Harvest Festival this afternoon.

They have such a fun game. It’s called Cow Pie Bingo. They divide a parcel of land into squares, and sell the squares to the players. Then they let a cow loose, and whatever square the cow relieves itself on is the winner! Too funny! It’s for charity, but the winner can win $500!

::Hands tissues out to all the sickies::

ps Don’t kill your mother, Nava.

YAY! Sleep apnea study all done - although I did not get much sleep. LOL And thanks to all for the bedbugless wishes, cause they musta worked. I was rather nervous about everything but it all worked out okay. Just too many monitoring devices and wires and nasal devices (three of em!), and I could barely turn over. Like I said, yay that it’s all over.

And now for some real sleep - nappy poo time (to borrow from Swampy). Hugs and trouts, as applicable!

Don’cha hate it when you toss a load of wet clothes into the dryer and forget to hit the ON button? :smack:

Electric guy is here - he’s installed the doohickey on the air conditioner and he’s now removing the other doohickey from the water heater. As soon as he leaves, I’m hitting the shower. The coughing is much less and the congestion seems to be clearing. I may be past the worst of it. I hope.

Electric guy is gone. I’m showered and about to have lunch. Last load of laundry is in the washer, and I’m pretty sure I remembered to turn on the dryer this time.

Throat isn’t hurting near as much - perhaps the end is near? Dare I hope?

Wow, hope all you with sickness and pain get better right NOW!

This has been a really, really, really, REALLY, REALLY bad week. I’m so glad the weekend is here. I don’t have any socializing plans on the agenda; just plan to get some work done around the house.

Morning! No Fair for us this year: just can’t afford it. Have to take our daughter to get a new pair of tennis shoes today. This is never any fun. It’s so hard to find a pair of tennis shoes that’s cool enough for an 11 year old girl who wears a size 9 1/2 wide.

We need a major exorcism for teh sickies. It’s just not fair. Hope all you guys feel better soon!

Sickies - heal yourselves!

bobbio - find someone to run your butt better. If it doesn’t fix it it might take your mind off it.:stuck_out_tongue:

Up early this morning with mr ems who had an early tee time. Laundry done, bed stripped, groceries shopped for and put away, cat box changed, trash taken out, coffee got and drank, parents skyped, some online Christmas shopping done and now to head to the mall for some other bits of stuff on my Christamas list.

Laundry done, dishes done, **FCD **and daughter on their way home. Life is good. I’m still coughing a little bit, but I think I’m over the worst of it.

I should probably thaw something for supper…

Glad to hear you’re doing better, FCM. Hope you’ve in less pain, too, Bobbio.

Back from the great mask-making (that was fun!) and from some grocery shopping.

Giant Eagle opened Columbus’s first Market District store this week; it’s pretty much a Whole Foods wannabe. Very nice - and very crowded today. Has a nice variety of foods, both regular grocery items and unusual ones. Also some nice household goods (kitchen stuff and china and such). Very nice olive bar and bulk olive oils and vinegars. Laid out very much like the large Whole Foods that’s about 20 minutes away from me. It was too crowded to really take a close look at everything, but I’m sure I’ll be stopping by from time to time for things my neighborhood Giant Eagle doesn’t carry. Here’s a nice first blog post about it from a local food blogger, including a slide show.

Also stopped at the little Whole Foods near me to get a couple of items that I only buy there.

Need to do some laundry and clean the kitchen and to get out into the garden for a bit.

But first, I should have a late lunch.

Hugs.

GT

Guess it’s a good thing I didn’t thaw anything for supper - they ate lunch late and don’t want supper. So I guess I need to cook for myself. Oh well…

Bah humbug.

MOOOOOOM don’t cook. Think of sump’n you want to eat. The more exotic, the better then guilt FCD or daughter into goin’ and gettin’ it for you bein’ as you’re still recoverin’. MILK IT HONEY MILK IT!

Glad the study went ok Herbs.

Speakin’ of food substances. Dunno what dindin will be about. I do know it will involve either sammiches or goin’ to get sump’n.

swampy, you’re evil. That’s why I love you so!
