Okay, so I’m not exactly an Oreo cookie freak - I mean I like them but I haven’t eaten millions during my lifetime or anything.
As you know, there are two cookie wafers and an inside filling of creme. On each cookie wafer, one side is imprinted with designs and the word Oreo (I say this from memory 'cuz I just ate the last one) and the other side is flat - no design.
I’d never seen one turned inside out with the imprinted side facing the creme - until lately that is. Once a week I’ll buy a six pack of Oreos from the vending machine and invariably one of the cookies will be “wrong”. Today, two out of six had one of the cookie wafers stuck wrong side facing out.
Aren’t there usually controls for this sort of thing when the cookies are prepared?
ps. they still taste the same because I eat the creme filling first!
It’s very possible that reject Oreos get sold off in the packs for vending machines. Many companies have found creative ways to “reclaim” their rejects and sell them off somehow.

Then again, they could be doing some savvy marketing to you “creme eaters” who always take the cookie apart before eating it. Reversing the “impressed” side to the inside of the sandwich leaves the maker’s logo in the creme filling (albeit reversed) and catches your attention. And from the sound of it, their strategy works!

FWIW,
I agree with the idea that the ones that done turn out right end up in the vending machines. They also end up at the blood banks in NY. (Same packaging)

Aren’t misprinted cookies worth a lot to collectors?

I totally don’t understand the eat-the-creme-first thing. I like the creme best, so I save it for last… eating it first is like… well it’s like eating your dessert first and then having to go back and eat your spinach. Me, I like to save the best for last.
Actually, I usually eat them whole because I’m too lazy.
In Japan the cookies are served without the cream filling. The Japanese aren’t into sugar as much as we are.
Which is why KFC cole slaw in Japan contains half the sugar that the American version does.
has everyone gone absolutely bonkers?? the only proper way to eat an Oreo cookie, regardless of how the waffer and icing are placed, or which you eat first, is you dunk it in a glass of milk…have you no sanity, people?? Am I the only one who makes note that you drink milk and you dunk the oreos in the milk?? duh.
an if i don’t have milk, eating oreos isn’t the best thing in the world anymore.
I’d say you get about one inverted cookie per package (from the grocery store, that is, not vending machine).
What I want to know is has anyone found an Oreo cookie that has BOTH waffers inverted so that the stamped side touches the icing?? Or is there always only just one side that could possibly touch the icing, if the factory’s machine so permits.
yeah, I hope ur saying u like the oreos soggy, cuz I kno I do… I’m crazy - the sugar gets to me, and I’m 15, so waht can I say?? damn hormones…heh heh heh
