Alas, though, it’s looking increasingly-unlikely that the French-immersion thing will happen, at least until summer. I’m still wait-listed. I called the program office today and they said that draws for a spot are still taking place, and I won’t know till I know.
Oh well… I may be taking the train to Ottawa from the GTA after all.

Hold the presses! I just got accepted to French immersion! I will be going to Quebec after all! It starts on May the 13th. So I will be in transit that weekend… perhaps there’s a way I can bend my route to stop at Ottawa… I must do some research.

Any idea of precise times for this?
Doing some research… I must be in Jonquière on Sunday afternoon. There’s a bus that departs Québec City at 10:30, reaching Jonquière at 13:30. This appears to indicate that I must overnight in QC. I can get a train direct from Oshawa to QC on Saturday, leaving the 'Shwa at 7:18 and reaching QC at 16:22.
If I’m in Ottawa, a train leaves Ottawa on Saturday at 9:55 and reaches QC at 16:22. (I suspect it’s the same train after Montréal.)
So, given the constraints, I don’t think I can be there for Saturday afternoon.
So here is the precise details of the Ottawa Dopefest on Saturday:
1pm Beer (Patio of GuadalaHarry’s @ Dow’s Lake - Reservations on the patio under name Cecil)
2pm (or so) look at Tulips in Commisioner’s Park (Drove by this morning and the flowers are at their peak!)
4pm Beer (and food) @ Pub Italia on Preston
Parking will be crazy so allow lots of time to get a spot and expect to walk a ways. Consider taking the free tulip shuttle bus.
If anyone other than previous Ottawa Dopefest participants are planning on coming, PM me and I will wear a silly hat so you can find us.
