My dear husband and I have found a house to live in. It is in Dundalk, about two blocks from the City line. In a spectacular fit of mis-planning, we are scheduled to move in on August 9, which is a Saturday. August 9 also happens to be Baby Doors’ birthday party, and we can’t be in both places at the same time.
We have a couple of volunteers for Sunday already, but is there anyone else who would be able to help us out on Saturday or Sunday? We’ll provide pizza (and veggie food for you veggie people), beer, soda, and even let you pee in our facilities.
We will have almost everything packed this week, and need help moving things from one location to the other. No cleaning involved, just schlepping. We will have the in-laws’ mini-van, Zappo’s land cruiser station wagon, and Anita Vacation’s mini-van. We may also have our truck, as it’s sort of cranky but is getting some doctorin’ this afternoon.
If you can come, we would greatly appreciate it. You may end up with stuff-we-don’t-need.
Thanks, you guys. We really appreciate all help offered, and all wish-I-coulds-but… as well.
Just wait for Dope the Halls this year! Lots of room in the house, and no freaky landlady from hell.
Congrats on finding a new place!! I really wish I could help, but that’s not one of my conjugal weekends. In fact, I’ll be packing myself that weekend - our house here is on the market and the kid and I need to be ready to go if the place sells fast.
Anyway, may you have a safe, uneventful, no-breakage move, and YAY for escaping the landlady from hell!
My husband worked in Dundalk when he first got to Baltimore. It’s an older part of town, but I didn’t think it was bad, and it’s convenient to lots of stuff. But to a lot of folks, it’s the Rodney Dangerfield of communities. <shrug> The only reason I wouldn’t live there is I want a less suburban area with more land.
Psycho Crackhead Landlady just came up to the house demanding that we sign some piece of paper - I didn’t bother to look at it, I just gave it to Dave.
That’s kinda what I was saying. Let’s just say that I’m not terribly surprised that they’ve a Psycho Crackhead Landlady. I’ve been to Dundalk a couple of times, but I guess that Gingy wouldn’t no that. Heck, I’d even help her pack if I weren’t 520 miles away.
You will always be welcome in our home. If it’s the reason I think it is, there seemed to be a pretty good mix on our street. I don’t play that shit, and that’s one of the reasons I want to be out of this particular town.
God bless ya Lucretia! I thought you were doing the packing and moving thing yourselves?
Out place in HDG at around 9, or whenever you can get here in the morning. We’ve got Zappo heading down here early - man, I needa re-think this. You guys are over an hour away. Say 11?
