heh a nurse once told me there’s 3 types of doctors the first enjoys people and is sociable but not too skilled with a scalpel … those are your everyday MD’s the really smart but antisocial types … go into research …the loudmouth braggarts that think there better and more skilled than you me and god… those people become surgeons
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Welcome to the Roaring 20’s!
Thirty six minutes until the 20s.
My team came in second at trivia tonight. I got home about the time the jackasses across the fence broke out the fireworks. That got Nelson going, so I kept him on the short leash when I walked him for his before bed pee (a little early, but there was a lull in the fireworks). I put the black eyed peas to soak for tomorrow.
Happy new year y’all!
I’m still back in 2019.
Beck, take it easy. My friend had aa OICC line for four months, as she needed chemo, and she was SO glad to get it out. They’re a real PITA.
Having had too many surgeries, I can tell you the correct side is always marked. When I had corneal transplants, they used stickers. When I had breast cancer surgery, the surgeon signed his initials on the correct breast. A nurse said they used to use X’s, but surgeons got confused as to whether x marked the spot or meant “wrong side.” Not exactly reassuring.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 37 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 63 and N.O.S. for the day. Not too shabby to start off a new year. Today, of course, is the BIG NYD FEAST here in da cave. Twelve people (includin’ us) shall gather around elevenish to toast the New Year and nosh upon snausage balls and cream cheese and pepper jelly. We shall feast around oneish. Hopefully everyone will be gone around threeish. As I always say, I love company both comin’ and goin’.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification must be accomplished along with the donnin’ of appropriate clothin’ in which to receive company. One sacrifices so much to be a host!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Happy New Year!
I’m preparing the first pot of coffee and oatmeal for 2020.
Happy Hump Day!
Happy New Year!
It’s a cloudy 37, feels like 28, degrees outside.
The heat wave is over.
Nothing special on the agenda today, irking like usual, finishing the laundry. I was thinking about taking the day off, I need to get some stuff done around here, but irk has been busy and one needs to strike while the iron is hot.
I will be heading out to the dog park soon.
Doesn’t a pot of coffee and oatmeal gum up the coffee maker??
Yeah, I know, I had to take the easy shot… so sue me!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Mine hasn’t started all that great - I coughed in the new year over the hours. I know I slept some because at one point, I realized **FCD **was in bed, but I hadn’t heard him come in. It felt like the coughing was constant, and now I’m really dragging. I heard RoxStar coughing during the night, too. It’s a sickie household. Then again, 2020 can only get better, right?
No plans for the day. SIL has to work tonight and considering how I feel, I doubt that I’ll go anywhere. If the leftover ham hasn’t gone funky, I’ll do something with it for supper. Beyond that, I’ll wing it.
ONWARD!
Your first post of the New Year. :dubious:
Do we get tommy guns, and get to dance with Flappers?
Ummm, oookay; doesn’t seem all that exciting though.

Set the alarm for dark:30 but decided sleep was more important (needed caffeination to get thru the evening); glad I did as the weatherman lied () & doesn’t look like there was a visible sunrise as it was hiding behind the clouds.
Brekie, shower, & ocean time for me! ![]()
Showered and dressed, and I’ve made some tea. The hot shower was soothing to my nose and throat (probably the steam) and I’m hoping the tea will continue the soothing.
I shall soon assume the knit position - I foresee much chillage today.
Morning all on this first day of the 66th New Year I’ve seen (after that many I don’t get that excited about them anymore). Nothing much planned for today, it’s 41F heading for 53F and N.O.S. outside.
No resolutions yet except to get the carpeting and painting and re-furnishing done so that I don’t have to worry about that for the next 15-20 years (and if I’m still worrying about things like that in 20 years, so much the better…)
Feel better soon, Moooommm.
Now to obtain sustenance and get about the day.
Food cookin’ is underway and guests should start to arrive in a little while. We had fireworks in da ‘hood last night but not near as much as usual, so it seemed. I think the folks behind us that shot copious amounts moved at some point durin’ the year, or just didn’t do it this year. Fine by me either way. Now I feel the need for a Bloody Mary.
Let the festivities begin! Huzzah!
Happy New Year! We survived. I hope all those peeps shooting off fireworks and launching bombs had fun because it was not fun for pets or people with PTSD.
I shall cook up some black eyed peas and collards and chicken and biscuits later. But, Confucius says woman who cooks collards and pees in same pot very unsanitary.
Happy New Year everyone!
Happy new year!
Up and caffeinating, not hungry for breakfast (supper out and snacks at the bar last night left me with a too full feeling and elevated BG). The jackasses across the fence finally decided to quit the fireworks about 12:30 and it took another half hour or so to get Nelson calmed down, poor baby. They didn’t bother him much during the independence day celebrations, but there were leaves on the trees to muffle the sound a bit then. I just wish that those folks would take the fireworks somewhere else.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Gonna run down to the feed store for Gordie chow, then to watch hockey and football all day.
He’s being prepared for Bowl Season.:p;)
I like to buy mine already prepared.
A new decade begins! Pig is on the smoker to be followed by more pig and then maybe if there is time and space a little pig. Smoked pig = many fine future meals.
Happy New Year, if you like that sorta thing.
Biscuits and gravy for brekkies. The GirlChild[sup]tm[/sup] says there were fireworks last night, but we didn’t hear them, being asleep and all.
I hope this year brings you all something good. I won’t tell you what I’m hoping for 'cause I don’t wanna talk to men wearing narrow black ties.
Later.
Stayed up until about 2am, drank a tall glass of water to prevent a hangover, woke up about 8am and called the person who now has my former job to say “Sucker!!”, then went for a walk.
