Pajama Pants

For the past few weeks, my roommate has been extolling the virtues of pajama pants. She was aghast when I told her that I hadn’t worn any of my pajama pants in almost a year. “That’s wretched!” she said (she says wretched about as much as I say smashing, which is all of the time). “They’re so comfy! They’re awesome! You need to start wearing them!” I refused, just to be difficult.

Well, last night I came home from a meeting, my jeans damp from mid-calf down from sloshing through a puddle I hadn’t seen. As I was going to be in the dorm for the rest of the night, I decided that maybe I’d give pajama pants a try. So, the wet jeans went to the hamper, a pair of blue and green striped pajama pants emerged from the dresser, and, let me tell you, I have never made a better decision in my entire life.

My pajama pants are so light and airy and soft. They have a cute little drawstring. They look good with my shower shoes. Plus, pajama pants are versatile. I did German homework in them, I brushed my teeth in them, I wrote e-mail in them, I watched The Daily Show in them, I grabbed a soda from the basement vending machine in them, and now I’m posting in them. I adore my pajama pants. I’m contemplating wearing them to class tomorrow, but it’s a bit chilly here, so I think that might not work. I’m now looking forward to going home this weekend even more, because it means I’ll have my dog and my pajama pants – it just doesn’t get any better than that!

Thus concludes another mundane and pointless post brought to you by Serendipity.

Mine aren’t “pajama pants” but I have many pairs of comfy, soft and lightweight but warm pants I wear around the house. Keep in mind this means I wear them most of my waking life as I work at home.

I love my flannel pairs the best. I have about three pair that have taken a beating.

They are big and cottony soft. I love them, I sure hope I can find some more as it’s been a while since I have been in a store.

I have “clown pants”. That’s what my sister calls them, because they’re kind of big and they look like clown pants. Or something. Anyway, they’re 100% polyester. They are the most comfortable pants I’ve ever owned. I love them. I could not live without them. I actually have six different pairs. I’m wearing a pair right now.

I love pajama pants. I just had to retire a pair a few months ago because I wore them out–they were completely threadbare on the butt (so you could see my underwear right through them). I now have this pair of black, fleece-like material that are sooooo warm and comfortable. One of the first things I do when I get home from school is get out of my uniform and into those pants. Hey! Wouldn’t you know… I’m in them already

I’m wearing a pair with cowboys and covered wagons and cacti on them. They’re soooo cute!

Geobabe, did you get them at Target?

I love my flannel pajama pants. Very, very much. It just doesn’t get much better.

Well, at least that was true until my brother had the gall to go out and buy FLEECE pants. That’s right folks. Fleece. So warm. So comfortable. So ridiculously warm, and yet they breathe. I hate him. I truly, truly hate him…

::plotting::

dammit

Total coincidence- I’ve NEVER owned “real” pajamas- just sweats and such to wear around. Today is my birthday, and my very best friend in the world got me AWESOME thermal pajamas. I almost called in sick to work and put them on, just so I could lounge around in them, watch TV, play games, drink coffee, etc. I cannot wait to go home and put them on.

Zette

(PS- speaking of bottoms, I also picked up two pair of Polar Fleece like pants/sweats from Ames the other day- $6 a pair. They are so comfy they’re heavenly.)

Connor: Target, most certainly. I live there. Let us extol the virtues of Target, home of the cute pajama pants.

Connor & Geobabe, I am SO with you on the Target jammies. I think I’ve got 4 or 5 pair, in various styles (they’re not all pants & tops–got a few nighties too), that I pretty much live in. Comfy & cheap. I adore them!

I’ve got two pair of pants & tops, one that’s a light purple with moons & stars, and a light blue pair with clocks. My daughter calls the clock ones my “Tickety-Tock” jammies. She’s a Blue’s Clues fanatic.

That’s it, I am making a run to Target this week!

I have a pair of pajama pants that is dark green plaid and you can roll up the cuffs at the bottom and to reveal a second pattern on the inside that is slightly-less dark green.

HA!

When I left my job to stay home with my son, I bought a pair of scrub pants so that I would have non-work related clothes to wear around the house to help me remember that I was no longer working.

They were nice because they had pockets in case I did need to leave the house.

I have a pair of pajama pants that are dark red/black/rusty orangy that may just POSSIBLY be slightly less dark red/black/rusty orangy if I rolled them up at the cuffs, but I never have.

I would never wear them out of the house, but I have worn them on the back deck off the kitchen when I’ve gone out there to smoke.

I wear them to bed in the dark cold winter months with a tee shirt as a top. Pajama pants are great, but pajama tops are too warm for me even on the coldest of nights.

Scrubs are so up there with pajama pants! However, I like scrub tops better than I like the bottoms. I only do scrubs in surgical greens and blues, though – none of that designed crap.

Does anyone know where I can get a pair of Blue’s Clues pajamas? I’ve been looking for them everywhere with no luck.

My sister has the best collection of pajamas that I’ve seen in a while. My two favorites are her velour leopard prints and her Winnie-the-Pooh set that says things like “Sleepy Old Bear!” all over them. They’re too cute for words!

I’m kind of the opposite, Ike. I can’t stand to wear any kind of pajama bottoms to bed because I get too hot. I wear the whole set of PJ’s around the house until bed, then take off the bottoms.
