Pajamas

No. I have sleepwear, but that’s just a t-shirt and shorts, not specifically pyjamas.

Too much effort to swap in and out of clothing that is essentially unnecessary.

The last time I owned pajamas was when I had to stay in a Japanese hospital for a week. My ex-wife went and bought some so I could have something comfortable. That was in the early 90s. I have no idea what happened to them.

T-shirt and shorts in summer, long flannel sleep shirt in winter. I have a pair of pyjamas but haven’t worn them in years.

I wear pajama bottoms to bed. In fact, I’m wearing some with a picture of Darth Vader and “Fear the Dark Side” written on them right now.

The reason I wear pajama bottoms happened just last night around 3:30 am. My daughter ate something bad and was throwing up and needed assistance stat. Bed covers go flying, and boom! Right to the rescue without having to stop and put something on or outraging her by seeing me in my BVDs. Also was handy when we had a big earthquake a couple years ago around the same time of night.

I haven’t worn old-school pajamas (i.e., the sort that Hugh Hefner lived in) since I was in high school, 35 years ago.

In the summer, I sleep in a t-shirt and casual / pajama shorts. In the winter, I sleep in either sweat pants, or flannel “pajama pants,” and a long-sleeved t-shirt or a thermal underwear shirt.

I wear PJ bottoms like your 2nd pic (shorts if very warm) with a comfy loose t-shirt when home. I don’t wear them to bed as I like being naked in bed.

I work in a shirt and tie job so am into comfy house gear very soon after getting home.

No. T-shirt and shorts, or just the shorts.

I haven’t worn pajamas (or anything) to bed since my kids grew up. Even when they’re home now, I don’t bother, as nighttime emergencies are rare to non-existent. My pants are somewhere nearby most nights, if we do have a fire or earthquake.

I’ve never worn matching set pajamas. In the summer I’ll wear a t-shirt & cotton shorts to lounge around the house before bed, and lounge pants & a sweatshirt in the winter, but everything comes off when I get into bed. Been doing it that way for about 30 years at this point.

I have worn PJs all my life for at least 9 months of the year. I don’t change out until I have finished my morning exercises.

I’m sure I heard a comedian ask this - but what are you supposed to carry in that breast pocket?

At one time I tried wearing Pajama bottoms but I just didn’t like them for some reason. Around the house I tend to wear sweatpants or shorts and then boxers at night to sleep.

Yes! I wear khakis and a knit shirt to work, and when I come home it’s sleepy clothes through till the next morning – pajama pants and tee shirt.

I live with my father and he was trained by his parents* – no sleeping in clothes you were up and around in during the day. But he is retired, so it’s pretty funny seeing him get up and get dressed in a sweat suit, and then change into traditional pajamas again at bed time.

  • He also got fined a nickel if he got caught without a handkerchief, and can’t bring himself to leave his bed unmade.

Quit wearing PJs when I turned 13. Too restrictive.

If I feel the need to wear anything to bed, it’s Nike gym shorts and/or muscle shirt.

I own flannel pj pants and a soft 3-button long-sleeve “nightshirt”.

They’re never worn to bed. Only for the first couple hours of a cold weekend morning, or possibly if I will be up for some reason after I shower before going to bed.

Can’t bear to actually wear anything in bed.

I hang out most of the time in a long T-shirt and flannel PJ pants or sweats. If it’s cold I’ll throw a waffle Henley over the top.

Usually I buy summer-weight sweat pants and use those, because they are cheaper, longer, and have deeper pockets. For some reason, PJ pants tend to come no longer than 29" inseam, which then shrinks further in the dryer leaving my feet and ankles freezing.

The perfect combo would be a long flannel nightshirt with 31" flannel pants and a matching robe. But the few times I’ve seen those in a catalog as matching separates they were prohibitively expensive. Finding them cut for a woman’s body would be the pie-in-the-sky dream.

As an acquisition professional I have to say this is my only long-term purchasing failure. I could have them made, but that crosses the cost/benefit boundary. Grrrrrr.

No PJs for me. I just wear my boxers and an old T-shirt to bed.

I wear pajamas almost every night. i don’t like to sleep without clothes, and sleeping in daytime clothes is unappealing.

I haven’t owned or used PJs since high school. On the rare occasion where its necessary I’ll wear a pair of stretch shorts to bed. Otherwise its nothing at all.

Used to be I only wore PJs during the colder parts of the year, and was fine in just underwear and t-shirt during the summer.

But my wife’s in her early 50s, and let’s just say she suddenly prefers the house to be a good bit cooler than she did just a couple of years ago. In bed, I’ll be under two blankets when she can barely tolerate being under a sheet. So now, indoors, it’s always the colder parts of the year, and I’m always wearing full PJs with long sleeves, or my arms would freeze.
