Palin: Dear Media, Leave My Family Alone. Also, Please Buy My Reality Show

The same reason that Bush’s, Palin’s and McCain’s do. Because the media (at least the mainstream media) doesn’t attack families, and has not attacked Palin’s.

Incidentally, Fox News attacks Michelle Obama routinely.

Except this thread, but do go on.

Your argument is more like 2 + banana = will you look at that spider!?!?!

Are you Benjamin Button? Is time going backwards for you? The Clintons asked the media to leave Chelsea “out of it” when she was a child and growing up in the White House. They never insisted that Chelsea is off-limits story-wise when she was an adult and actively campaigning for her mother during the democratic primaries. The lack of any recent Chelsea stories is likely due to the fact that she doesn’t have any obviously titillating or controversial things going on.

Name one media attack on Palin’s family.

Then your recollection is wrong. I guarntee you will not be able to cite a single legit media outlet reporting the story as anything but false. They reported that an “attack” happened on Kos (usually neglecting to mention that it was posted by a public poster, not by the site itself). They did not report that it was true, or suggest that it was true. Before lunchtime they were all reporting it as false and defamatory.

So is it the consensus here that if Michelle Obama were to start a talk show or reality show, her family would become deluged with negative coverage?

Yeah, right. Every member of the MSM would need a five-gallon drool cup to contend with the overflow.

Erm, wasn’t negative media coverage of Palin’s family, and Palin’s resentment of it, the primary subject of discussion in this very thread at the time I entered the fray, or has everyone been imagining it?

Terrorist fist jab!

Fox amazes me. This is a news channel, is it?

To Palin and her bleating moronic followers, “negative treatment” is anything but fawning adoration.

Perhaps it would be more fair to say, name one unjustified media attack on Palin’s family.

It seems to have escaped everyone that the show isn’t about Palin, or her family…it’s about Alaska.
“Multiple sources confirm that Palin and uber-reality show producer Mark Burnett have been making the rounds in Hollywood this week to pitch a TV docudrama about Alaska.”

From the article in the OP. Thanks for playing.

So your contention is…what? That posters here were arguing that if she wanted positive coverage, she should also expect…neutral coverage?

How many times have I been down this road with you? I’ll find one, and you’ll start moving the goalposts.

So, goalpost movers, start your engines!

The Atlantic:

No, the subject was Palin pitching a reality show. There has been no negative media coverage of Palin’s family, and her pretended “resentment” of it amounts to no more than a habit of self-srving deflection and false accusation.

You can’t name any examples of the media attacking Palin’s family because it hasn’t happened. At all.

She should expect honest coverage. How positive it is is up to her and her own behavior.

The main point of the OP, though, is that it’s highly disingenuous to demand that the media “leave her family alone” (which it always has), while simultaneously begging it to follow her and her family around.

No link?

Sure.

OMG, you are right. She’s been horribly treated by the media. NO WONDER she wants a full-time media team following her family around.

By neutral coverage, presumably you mean right-wing propoganda, a la Fox News, “neutral,” but everything seems to skew left when you lean to the right.

Facts, simple facts, reported by the media, if they make the right look bad in any way, are evidence of the media’s vast conspiracy to destroy them.
