Peach Iced Tea and Job Huntin’… The MMP

I love it, but who is Eddie Izzard? (I dont’ get out much).

Ok, I went to the podiatrist and my orthotics will be refurbished-not covered by insurace, btw. (nice). And then I went to fill my gastank. OMG-it is COLD out there!

The windchill must be in single digits. Take heart, O Asian transplanted nutty/bean person! Tis winter’s last gasp, I promise. (I hope, dayum, it’s cold out there!)

Off to crawl in bed and moan. Or die-really feel like crap.

Eddie Izzard is the second funniest comedian on the planet (the first being, of course, George Carlin.) He’s British, and he’s a transvestite (but he’s an executive transvestite, not a weirdo transvestite), and he’s got a new TV show: The Riches, on FX.

The weather here today is … weird. It was hailing. Then it was hailing/raining (railing?) Then it was hailing again. Now it’s snowing. (Snailing?) Apparently we’re supposed to get 8 inches of snow today. Gotta love an actual winter, where the Old Man can’t decide what to get, so he goes for the whole smorgasboard.

Izzard is far far funnier than George Carlin. IMHO

This is a generally bewildered, ‘stick my head up out of the sand, wave distractedly’ drive by.

Sorry 'bout the 'Canes doggio , there’s still time to jump on the Rangers bandwagon for the playoffs…

Richard Pryor’s Little Feets is the funniest bit I’ve ever heard, so far.

True, I’ve not heard much Izzard.

I LOVE EDDIE IZZARD!! Glorious and Dress to Kill are his two best shows, imho. You can find clips of his stuff on Youtube. Watch “Death Star Canteen” which is a clip from another one of his shows… Circle, I think. Freakin’ hilarious.

Okay, must go do work. At least the weather isn’t tempting me to go outside and roll in the grass today.

I’m sorry, but George Carlin is not the funniest man on earth. Not even close. He was pretty funny a few decades ago, but now he’s just a bitter, grouchy old man. He makes **swampy ** seem nice, fercryinoutloud! :stuck_out_tongue:

For those of you keeping a long range planning calendar of my life, and that would be most of you, I expect, our boat is coming out of the water around May 7. We’re taking off work May 10 & 11 to change out some thru-hull fittings and paint the hull. FCD wants to wax it, too, but as of right now, I expect to be doing a craft show on May 12 (even tho it’s not confirmed yet) so he’ll be waxing alone.

I believe we’re caught in an evil timewarp. Surely it’s Friday, isn’t it?? <sigh>

Hugs all around.

Izzard is funnier than Carlin and Pryor put together. And he does one hell of an American accent.

It is raining, heavily and steadily, and has been all day, and looks to do so for at least the rest of today possibly into tomorrow.

I’ll take the ears, thanks, especially if they are chock full of hazelnuts.

They chaired me up to the blood lab, but I had to wait around for an hour before they took me in. In spite of that I was a half hour early for my doppler, which wouldn’t have mattered because I waitd around for an hour before they took me in for that. The good news is everything seems fine - I do not have any bloodflow/circulation issues in my legs. But it was a 45 minute drive up to here the hospital and doctor’s office are, and another 45 minutes back down and my back is not happy and I just don’t have the energy to go ou in that dreck again.
I am going to bed.

crawls out from under mounds and mounds of work

Holy crap. I am so busy I barely have time to breathe! Now normally I like this type of busy but fact is we’re picking up a LOT of slack that my boss just isn’t taking like he should.

I’m exhausted. I get to leave in 15 minutes - to go to the eye doctor. Yay.
Just wanted to say hi.

Izzard is great, but sometimes his American accent reveals little twinges of his own accent. He’ll get too into what he’s saying, and out will pop a British vowel or two in the middle of a very American sounding sentence. It’s subtle and rare, but it’s there.

Howdy y’all! I’m postin’ from my mother’s slllllllloooooooowwwwwwww dialup connection. Actually right now I’m also attempting to send some pics of a freaky azalea to a cousin in Michigan. This azalea bush has light pink flowers but somehow one of the branches has both light pink and dark pink (chartreuse?) flowers on it. It’s really jake. If’n I ever get that email sent, I’ll attempt to send one to me so I can share a pic or two of it. The reason cousin’s email is takin’ so long is because I have several other pictures I’m sending her (ok, actually she’s my cousin’s wife, but I count her as a cousin too) of mom’s yard cause she wanted to see it in bloom. My mother is the flower queen of Troup County, Jawja, btw.

Ok off to get this dang email to send, so I can go to my sis’s house for beerverages.

Hi, all. Yes, we need to see that freaky azalea, Swampy – do you even need to ask?

Yay for me! I went to the doctor for a regular checkup on my knee, and am doing so well that I don’t have to come back in six weeks to check my flexion; instead, I can wait a whole six months! Yippee! So it’s good to know that all the pain is finally starting to pay off.

At least I wasn’t the only person awakened at 4 a.m. by my dog freaking out over the thunderstorm. Everyone at the doctor’s office with a dog was yawning as hard as I was. It would have been funny if any of us would have had the energy to be amused.

I should be working, but instead I’ve spent the afternoon starting and ripping out and starting and ripping out and starting and ripping out and starting and…well, anyway, trying to get started on a lace shawl. It’s a neat pattern, called bird’s eye, but it’s this endless chart of K2tog/YO/K3tog/YO etc. etc. And working in lace weight yarn makes it all that much more challenging. Anyway, I think I finally got it underway. I’d tried it yesterday with a fuzzy lace weight yarn, but didn’t like the fuzziness with all this pattern (it obscured the cute circles), so am trying it in a smooth alpaca lace weight instead. So we shall see. I wanted something lightweight to take with me next week to New Orleans and sit in the shade of the big ol’ trees (assuming they’re still standing :frowning: ) by the Brass Band Stage and knit and listen to music when I’m not on my feet dancing to it. This should be lightweight enough even for NOLA humidity. We shall see.

Is it bedtime yet?

Happy…uh…Thursday folks!

Congratulations/commiserations to those who require em.

I’m late for MMP as usual but I have a good reason. I’ve gone all precognitive. I keep thinking about things and then boof! they happen. It’s very strange and I’m not sure I like it - especially not when I was thinking about my train breaking down in the middle of nowhere and…what’s that noise?! Why has the train stopped??? But good things have happened too so I guess that’s ok.

Still, I have decided to use my powers only for good and am trying to avoid thinking about bad things just in case it turns out I’ve been made ruler of the Universe or something and they forgot to email me. Just trying to work out what tomorrow’s thoughts should be about…

I made dinner(poke chops and asparagus) , and I’m having a beerverage and watching hockey on Yahoo. I have never seen Eddie Izzard.

Hey, mika!

zelie, think about the Thrashers winning the Stanley Cup.

BionicTigs, yay for your knees!

Haze, I’d say visit to escape the cold, but it’s going to be 60 the next four days. It feels like hockey weather.

Who are the Thrashers? And what sport is that? And when is it ?(I need to fit it into my busy precogging schedule!).

I promise to look at Eddie Izzard soon-I like British comedy, so I’l probably like him, too.
I made ham, sweet potato biscuits and green beans for dinner. #2 son said, “every time I have this, I remember how good it is.”

Made my day.

Bye all-off to be sick in bed for awhile (feel like crap still).

Get ready to squeeeee

They’re so teeeeeeeeeeneeeee!! * <insert schoolgirl giggle>*

TheAtlanta Thrashers. They play NHL hockey, and the playoffs start April 11th.

Hugs to rosie and rigsy and ::brushes sand out of the way:: MBG.

That Eddie Izzard quote is a hoot. I’ve heard his name, but somehow thought he was a musician. (Probably confusing him with someone else.) When you consider that all the TV I watch is on DVD or on the internet (and that’s usually just German news), it’s not surprising.

The Thrashers are Atlanta’s National Hockey League team, zelie. And it seems they’re in the playoffs. (I knew it was hockey because of the Stanley Cup, but had forgotten that they were in Atlanta.)

When I was getting my M.A., one of the professors in our department took garlic pills. Our department took up a whole floor of the building we were in; it was a pretty big floor, even. You could smell whether he was on the floor. Honest.

It’s cold here, too. And the precipitation is pretty much what Spats described. Hopefully, it’ll pass quickly and we’ll get back to our regularly scheduled Spring.

So, did Mom and Lilbro make it to visit you, Nava? If so, we say “hi!” The luggage discussion reminds me of my aunt. She used to travel with more luggage than anyone could consider reasonable. Not sure what was in it, but there was always lots.

Sorry about kitty #3, Bobbio. Hope Hercules hangs in there (s/he sure seems determined enough).

Wanna hear some good news??? My brother is quoted in today’s Wall Street Journal! In a high-profile article even. He’s over the moon about it; it’s very good publicity for his company (it’s his, and is still in start-up mode). I’ve talked to him about four times today.

I should get something done.

Back later.

bobbio, they’re so cyuuuuute! #4 made me laugh, he/she looks peeved about something.
