I know this is entirely unrelated to the OP’s angst, but I was hiking this past weekend and “people suck” was pretty much my mantra the entire time. What kind of dipshit goes to a beautiful river or trail and thinks, “Wow, this is pretty nice. I guess I’ll leave my empty bottles and cans here so everyone else can enjoy them too.”
I think I’m on record as favoring public canings for people who treat their neighborhood woods as garbage pails.
