People who hate Hilary so much they will vote for Trump...

I understand why people don’t like Hillary Clinton. She’s not charismatic. She’s arrogant. She’s openly ambitious. She skates around the edge of the law.

What I don’t understand is why people hate her so much. Objectively I think the worst thing you can say about Clinton is she’s a shady politician. But there are dozens of other shady politicians that run in the same circles and none of them seem to inspire the visceral hatred she does.

I have theories. One if the gender issue. People are used to shady male politicians. But a shady female politician is something new. People may be holding her to a different standard.

Another is that she’s a Democrat. The conservative media downplays the things Republicans do and plays up the things Democrats do. Clinton’s on the wrong side of the ideological divide so she’s a target for right wing pundits to attack.

Finally, she’s been around for a long time. If you’re somebody who doesn’t like her and thinks she should fail, you get angry every time she appears to get away with it. She’s become the conservative bogeyman - the way the Kennedys used to be - that the right wing keeps attacking but never seems to fall. Her survival alone angers her opponents.

Hillary Clinton’s incompetence got a hundred thousand people killed. She’s not the only member of congress with that blood on their hands, but none of those bastards are fit to be President either.

I can’t vote in the US, so have no personal investment in this issue. What I don’t like about Hillary is that she comes across as so insincere, which really surprises me as Bill was so magnificent at faking sincerity. Don’t they have the same handlers? Can’t she get some better training than just being told to point at someone in the crowd and act if they are a long-lost friend?

I amuse myself when listening to Clinton haters drone on and on by picturing them dressed as a coyote, slobbering and scheming while constantly running smack into the solid wall with the picture of a tunnel on it that HRC just scooted through.

The haters saw what she might become – an extremely competent candidate for president who would shape the US for a century to come when elected – and began to panic 24 years ago. No matter what they do, how much bile they call into their stomachs, she soldiers on toward her goal.

Where?

Iraq. You may have heard of it.

There’s usually no logical reason. Most of the time people don’t reason out why they like or hate some politician. They just do. My friend’s wide dressed as Hilary in a devil costume for Halloween. As a couple they identify as Republican/Libertarian, but other than guns, economics, and not liking Democrats, they don’t act particularly political. Presumably because they were both born and raised in Red States.

I think most people just pick a side and just look for things in the opposite side to get bent out of shape about.

Trump is a bit different in that he is so out there, his own party moving against him.

A lot of people hate both of the Clintons, but there seems to be a lot of people who hate Hillary far more than they hate Bill, which doesn’t make a lot of sense, except Bill is a warmer person who is great at empathy

Keep in mind that a lot of right wingers hate Obama with a passion, continually screaming that he will throw people into camps and what not. Besides the obvious race issue, it seems like the same kind of mindset that hates Hillary (and sometimes Bill). I do think part of the hate against her from right wingers is because they think she’s a leftist, just like with Obama

Um… what? And they are going to vote for Trump? The most full of himself, never wrong politico that walked the earth?

Trump has even been given opportunities to clarify what he means when he says something mind bendingly stupid. And all he does is double down, because he’s right.

And you feel she was solely responsible for the situation in Iraq?

I understand why “conservatives” hate Hillary because they pretty much hate anyone whom they’re ideologically opposed to. Hillary and the Clinton’s, like Obama, aren’t just opponents; they are successful opponents. They have defeated the right wing, and the right wing fucking hates losing to people who are somehow ‘less American’ and ‘less Godly’ than they are. The right has been engaged in a holy war to save their America, and they hate the fact that someone like Hillary has been tough enough to stand up to them and smart enough to beat them.

What I understand less is the ideological purity from the left. While I understand the frustration over some of Hillary’s votes and positions on foreign policy matters, what confounds me is how the ideological left actually believes that a third party is an option when all that is really required is more grass roots activism and steering of the democratic party toward the left. Obama has moved the party left, and I was hopeful that Bernie or Bust voters would eventually see the value in continuing to work with what they have rather than trying to burn it all down to build it back up.

The extremism of Bernie’s left is only marginally better than that of the right. They’re both based on fiction and delusions.

Boy, I hear all that. I have a very good friend that loves Bernie. But it is fantasy. Oh I agree that we need to work towards equality on all levels, but she told me that it would be great fun to live in a community that is much more like a hotel with common areas. She currently owns/lives in a 4 bed 3 bath house by herself. And is doing well for herself. Lot’s of friends and is very outgoing.

But.

I suspect she forgets how much dorm room living sucked. It works for 20 year olds. When you’re 55, not so much.

Because the people who live in Iraq are not capable of making their own choices?

I get that this is hard to understand, but sometimes people in other countries make their own decisions and don’t bother asking us what we think about it. The universe does not revolve around America, and people in places like Egypt, Libya, and Syria are allowed to do what they want without our input.

Heard of Iraq, but I doubt Hillary is responsible for Saddam’s atrocities. Or are you speaking of the 4,486 U.S. soldiers who died in Iraq? I’d really like to see how Hillary was responsible for a hundred thousand deaths, because honestly that sounds like something Trump would say without thinking.

So far no posts have even remotely expressed any substantive, convincing arguments for Hillary’s putative unlikeability.

Well, let’s see.

She committed numerous felonies and lied about them.

Nah, let’s just stop there. That’s more than enough.

Care to be more specific?

Also :
Are you planning to vote Trump? Are you happy about him as a candidate?

List 'em.
Explain why she has never been indicted.

I think what you meant to say was

“The people who hate Hilary think she has committed numerous felonies”. This is your belief system. You have an underlying faith that this is true. Nothing can shake this faith. You are committed to it.

Faith based hate system.

No, keep going. Talk about how she murdered Vince Foster with a karate chop to the throat and made it look like a suicide.
