It’s a error in judgement. It’s about as bad as one of Trumps many bankruptcies.
Using a private server for her official communications was only an error of judgement because her political opponents seized on it as one more way to try to divert attention from her intelligence, ability and public service. The fact is, there were no negative outcomes resulting from that decision.
We could hope and wish for better outcomes for matters called “Arab Spring”, and for the Syrian conflict; I don’t see any other person showing how their actions as SOS would have been better, producing more positive results.
When religion, government, poverty and ignorance mix in the fashion we now see in the mid east Arabic countries, I don’t think there are any positive outcomes possible. The dictator/strongman model used in most Arab states post WWII did more to hold down extreme disruptions than any form of revolution there (so far)
When you can objectively see that involvement in that area by Russia, Europe and the US has produced very few positive measures, has produced refugees, famine and war, maybe we should simply multilaterally take a hands-off position. Eventually, one man will have his foot on the neck of all the people in that area. Many more millions will be dead, killed or starved, but we won’t have done it or caused it. When a strongman rules that part of the world, we can then hold a gun to his head and tell him to leave us alone.
