Perricone 3-day facelift diet--anyone done this?

It’s pretty basically salmon, canteloupe, berries & nuts. Oh, and water. But great promises.

And lots of testimonials, but . . . I don’t trust them. They are all written in this style of “Hmmm, this seems to be working. I look younger. Oh, and I have so much energy! Well, wow.”

I figure, I can eat anything for three days (and more to the point can AVOID anything for three days, with the possible exception of caffeine). It’s really a kind of bearlike diet. I’d like to hear if any Dopers have tried this and if so, if it worked.

I ate the acne one which is pretty much the same. It made me really depressed and angry to tell you the truth and when I ate sugar again it really made me feel terrible. My skin always looks exactly the same and during that diet it was not any different. The thing about Dr. Perricone is that unless he is 104, he really doesn’t have very nice skin anyway. On the cover of one of his books he has what looks like a zit on his chin.

I haven’t tried it - just saw the guy on Oprah, but it didn’t seem like “salmon, nuts and berries” to me - just less sugar and caffeine, more “good” fat and protein. He was pushing the eggs hard as well as the brightly colored berries and the unsalted nuts, and the fatty acid foods like salmon and avacado. Didn’t look too far from what I think of as normal healthy eating. Of course, I haven’t read the book.
