Pick 3 cars. Only 3 cars...

Good question!

I’ll take a Volvo SC7 Hardtop convertible for those nice/sunny days.

I’ll also have a Hummer H2 pickup truck. Good towing ability, space to haul some stuff, and if I’m not paying maintenance I’ll be able to drive it in/through rain and offroad and stuff

Lastly I’ll take a good reliable mid-range SUV…let’s make it a Porsche Cayanne =)

Tesla Model S sedan.

Tesla Model X Crossover(when available).

Toyota Sienna minivan

If I’m a Billionaire, I’ll have three garages and a detailer to come in and keep the cars spiffy.:D:D

Ah, damn. Scooped by Radiowave et al on getting in the Tesla.
I’ll have to break it down to day-to-day, testosterone, and novelty.

Tesla S (solar panels too, please).
Modern Shelby Mustang GT (200mph stick shift?)
Delorean

1938 Citroen 11 Berline Traction Avant black, for classic style, me wearing a WWII trenchcoat.

1995 Toyota Previa minivan, for everyday bullet-proof utility

Something moderately economical for comfortable cruising, like an Audi, but I’ve never driven a car made since 2000, so I don’t know what is out there. Surprise me.

I started a thread like this a couple of years back, but i was only buying one car, forcing people to make far more compromises between looks, performance, and practicality.

Given three choices, here’s one possible set for me:

Tesla Model S P85+

Porsche 918 Spyder

Aston Martin DB9

I’d feel guilty about the fuel consumption of the Aston’s 6.0L V12, but that would be strictly for the occasional road trip or weekend away. The other two cars would make up for it: the all-electric Tesla, and the monster hybrid Porsche that puts out 887HP, goes 0-60 in 2.5, and gets 67 eMPG in everyday driving.

One thing i’d regret about buying all new cars is that supercar makers are basically abandoning the left pedal. You can hardly find a high-powered sports car with a proper clutch anymore. The most control you have over gearshifts is the paddles. I know that the incredible power of the engines, and the sophistication of modern gearboxes, means that these cars are actually faster driven as automatics, but there’s just something about using a proper gearshift that i would miss.

I sure don’t. Here in the UK you can have a LHD car, although there are legal hoops you have to jump through.

You are. It’s got a full tank and/or charge when I deliver it to you, though.

Well, since this zombie has been resurrected, I’ll change my previous choices. Now it would read as:

2015 Nissan Xterra
1969 GTO, customed by Count’s Kustoms.
1970 Superbird, also customed by Count’s.

mhendo’s thread, which I subconsciously (honest!) nicked the idea of.

'64 Ford Econoline with a matching Can-Am Spyder
'64 Jeep M-677

Bugatti Veyron
only because it will make somebody else crazy jealous to see me drive it

An original VW Beetle
bonus points if it has flowers on it

Chevy Equinox
for my everyday ride

This was very difficult because I LOVE OLD CARS!!
1963 Lincoln Continental, black
1954 Chevrolet Bel Air rag top, maroon
1936 Cord Phaeton, deep blue

Huh, didn’t even notice it was a zombie.

In that case, I guess I’ll go with tesla’s sedan model.

Couldn’t do with just three. Not a chance.

Do I get to keep what I already have? I’ve got an SUV that gets good mileage and a Wrangler that doesn’t, and I like both of them. In addition to those, I’d take:

Factory Five Roadster with a 5.0 Coyote and whatever midshift transmission puts the shifter in a good spot without that slanted shifter the regular one uses. It would replace the SVT Cobra and Miata I got rid of last summer.
F-250, loaded. King Ranch, crew cab, 4x4, diesel, etc. I need this for the occasional trailer and trip to the steak house (I’m from Texas).
I guess the last one would be a Yamaha FZ-09. I might buy one of those anyways to replace the FZ6 I sold last summer.

I’ll keep my 13 year old Jeep that is getting a new engine this week anyway, and take an Audi A8 for everyday driving and a Fisker Karma for the weekend.

Generous as this offer is, I’m only 29, so I hope to see huge leaps forward in automotive technology before I’m too old to drive. As such, I’d probably have to regretfully turn it down. In addition, there are just too many amazing cards to choose from.

Jaguar XJ220 - To stare at and simply have.
Lexus LFA - To track/enjoy. Or I could just listen to the engine. All day.
Audi RS7 - Daily drive (I also like the Model S, but they’d need to add more weight/feedback to the steering and it’s a bit too silent/detached under throttle).

2014 Audi S8 (for trips, errands, and carrying friends/family)
2014 Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet (for back roads and high-speed fun)
2014 Ford F150 SVT Raptor (for doing actual work, but fast)

Porsche 918 Spyder (brand new, million dollar hybrid that is stupid fast)

Audi S8 for normal family duties

Some kind of large luxury SUV that can haul and tow. Mercedes makes a diesel one.
