Whenever I read your posts I laugh because I think it’s sarcastic and/or satirical. Then I check the username attached, and…well, I’m still not convinced you’re *not *doing some Stephen Colbert schtick.
And Norman Rockwell would have done it satirically. His work was not as saccharine & simplistic as some would assume.
I feel kind of bad for this kid. Not that Romney lost, but that he looks to be about 11-12 years old and has been dragged deeply enough into our mess of American politics that it drives him to tears when “his guy” loses.
Go play some Xbox, kid. Or baseball. Or discover that about 50% of your classmates are growing boobs.
I love the smell of dashed hopes and dreams on the morning after an election.

Well, to be fair, they are labeled “White People Mourning Romney.” It just turned out the the other collection of photographs all featured the same three guys.
I must be a bad person. I’ve got the giggles just now.
It sort of reminds me of my niece, who was born with hip dysplasia. She could sit on her butt with her thighs/knees on the floor, and her lower legs at 90 degree angles to the uppers.

3 women, not two. The one on the right is kneeling and you can’t see her legs at all. The legs you do see belong to the woman asleep on the floor behind woman #1.
It looks to me like there are two different shoes on those legs- so either they belong to two different women or she wore odd shoes that day.
They look like slippers to me. The odd color is a sock on her right foot.
I think.
So I mean, I guess I’m being “that guy” but I actually think it’s wrong to make fun of the people in these pictures. In fact I think compassion is the correct attitude here.
Well… anyway… that’s how I feel about it.
They lost an election, not one of their children.
I realize it’s a joke, but the website would be more accurately called “dysfunctional white people mourning Romney”. Most well-adjusted white people I know… supported the Democrats in this race. Not to mention that Obama won some of the whitest states in the country (Minnesota! Vermont! Iowa!) The demographic argument is hugely overblown IMHO. The better candidate won, simple as that.
I was watching footage of the Romney HQ crowd on CNN and saw a Sikh guy, and was like, “what the fuck?” Then I realized they’d switched to Obama HQ without changing the graphic.
I’m not usually one for mean-spirited humor, but this was deeply satisfying.
There were plenty of white Obama voters. (I’m one!)
But there were very few non-white Romney voters…
